  1. Yes. And he was a free agent twice when the Bills were attempting to assemble a 3-4 defense. However I'm a believer that good football players can usually play in any scheme even if they are better suited to a particular one. I believe for instance that DeMarcus Ware would make a great 4-3 DE.
  2. Sounds like you just answered your own question.
  3. I'm feeling really good about this defense. In the 5 games since the bye, the team has given up just 86 yards per game rushing and less than 3.4 yards per rush. The pass rush has improved too. Mostly several of the younger players are looking very good including Carrington, Moore, Gilmore, and Searcy. Sheppard still looks terrible though, IMO. Okay.
  4. To your first paragraph, Freddy didn't hit a pedestrian on Chippewa Street or take $20 bills from people asking for autographs. In other words Lynch was traded because he had to be traded. To your second paragraph I think QBs like Wilson who can keep plays alive as you stated have a tendency to get defenses gassed. Does anyone remember Mark Brunnell's performance in Jim Kelly's final game as a Bill? Actually the Bills had a quarterback very similar to Wilson. The city didn't really embrace him though.
  5. Personally it's much ado about nothing, IMO. He was expensive veteran insurance. He didn't dress in any game this year but he willingly re-signed with the club after the 2011 season. Would people prefer we had cheap inexperienced players getting scratched on game day? There's a lot of legit stuff for people to complain about more than criticizing the team for keeping or cutting Morrison. He's quite a good interview and seems like a good guy. It's said that he has aspirations for a media career after he retires. I wish him the best.
  6. I know. People have been bitching all season long about why we kept McGee, how poor Williams has played, and how poor Rogers and McKelvin have been. Then this rookie starts his first game as a pro and despite being thrown at 18 times, gives up less than 50% completions and breaks up 3 (I say 4 passes).
  7. Did you click on the link? He was cut because he was "too slow?" Where did you get that from? Thank you. Anyone bothering to read the link would have seen that the Bills need O-linemen due to the injuries to Wood and Hairston.
  8. Thanks for auditing the throws. Because Gilmore was on Blackmon for the great majority of snaps (and doing an excellent job) it was natural that Brooks, a rookie starting his first game, would get a lot of work. The man Brooks was covering, Cecil Shorts, has been on fire lately. There was a graphic during the game which showed that Shorts was at or near the top 5 in the NFL in receptions, yards per reception, TD receptions and total yardage since he was made a starter in week 7. Shorts has 619 yards receiving and 5 TDs over the last 7 weeks. Shorts is an emerging star. As I said earlier, I thought Brooks did just fine and giving up just 50% completions is excellent considering the completion percentage of NFL quarterbacks league-wide is over 60%. Also, Brooks was credited with 3 pass breakups although I thought he should have been credited with 4 after I reviewed the game. Brooks is very fast. He ran sub 4.4s at the combine: http://footballsfuture.com/2012/combine/cb.html As I and others have said before, football speed is not the same as stopwatch speed but Brooks has no speed issues. His athleticism is pretty obvious. Fast, quick, smooth, good hips. Yes. You have people of all different levels of knowledge posting here. No doubt that everyone has opinions and likes to voice them. It is the world we live in. Some opinions are better than others.
  9. I only saw a few plays from that game but Dungy was quite impressed. Said he kept plays alive with his legs before making nice throws. And again, 9 TD passes and zero INTs in the last 4 weeks. The kid is coming around.
  10. I hear you but I think you have to look at things in context too. For instance, how would you judge Nick Foles' performance tonight?
  11. Your sister would have spelled it voila. Then again she took school a bit more seriously than you did.
  12. It's always interesting comparing opinions here.
  13. Yeah really. He's a rookie in his first start. I can remember three passes he broke up and several times when he had good coverage. It's a given that a rookie CB is his first career start is gonna have a few rough spots.
  14. BTW, just heard that Wilson's TD-INT ratio over the last 4 games is 9-0.
  15. I know but I don't know why Leftwich was ahead of Batch on their depth chart.
  16. Thanks for the Brown info. As for Foles, a rookie on a big stage looking completely unflustered? I'm very impressed. Yeah that was a bad spot. In fact I thought they mis-spotted the ball on the 3rd down run.
  17. Well Jeff Fisher is an excellent coach. And the Rams have some talent. Especially on defense.
  18. Or maybe he just needs more experience. Brooks did not start in college btw. For all we know, he has a great work ethic.
