  1. There's something not publicly being said about the Spiller situation and Gailey could not be handling it in a worse way. Honest public criticism would be better than making bs excuses and insulting the intelligence of all the fans and media. If there's a problem with Spiller just say so but spare us some bs excuse about his conditioning. Do you think anyone would be offended if Gailey simply said, "CJ has to show us that he has the mental toughness to be a great back. CJ has to show us the desire to always be on the field before we can give him any more touches." Or, "CJ hasn't worked hard enough on his pass protection. He's getting better but he knows he still has to get better in that area." That's a very interesting theory. It would be the honorable thing to do but it would be career suicide (even though his career is dying anyways). However more than anything, almost no rational person would resign because it would prevent him from collecting the remaining millions of dollars on his contract. If he's fired, he still gets that money. If he resigns, he doesn't. You mean Jim Haslett? I've met Haslett a few times. He's an ignorant a-hole redneck. I don't want anymore stupid people coaching the Bills.
  2. I feel the same way John. I said about a week ago that the Bills would draft a quarterback because they know for PR reasons as well as for football reasons, they have zero choice. They've succeeded in backing themselves into a corner as far as the QB issue is concerned. Of course I felt the same way last year when they passed up Russell Wilson, Nick Foles, and Kirk Cousins.
  3. Thank you. Yeah he didn't say "Tashard is not a great back." However my epiphany for the day is that Chan is not a very smart guy. The fact that it took me this long to figure that out admittedly doesn't look good for me. But I digress. There are people who speak intelligently who are not intelligent and there are people who speak like idiots who are actually intelligent. However the majority of the time, if a person really sounds intelligent, he/she really is intelligent. Same for people who sound like idiots. If I had to compare Gailey with another Bills coach in terms of how he speaks and the image he projects, I'd have to sadly say that he reminds me a good deal of Hank Bullough.
  4. "Don't touch me coach. No audibling, no buddies."
  5. My only theory that would somewhat explain it is that he was so guilt-ridden and ashamed at what happened that he couldn't face his best buddy. He lacked the moral courage.
  6. It looks possible that CJ had a few issues with pass protection so Gailey decided to sit him a bit. IF that were the case, why wouldn't Chan just say so? When in doubt, speak the damn truth. Children know that there's times when the truth is the best way. IF the issue was pass blocking and not being "winded," Chan didn't spare CJ any criticism. If Chan was lying he came off looking like a stammering fool and he put CJ on the spot as well. Watching him over the last 3 years, I really question Chan's intelligence.
  7. Easley has to be evaluated? Did he get sick at another wing eating contest?
  8. I don't know if you guys read the linked article. If not I should also add that the woman who came upon the scene said that the deceased was calling out for help and that the survivor was disregarding his calls. Just weird considering these guys were bosom buddies from college and maintained their close friendship as NFL players.
  9. I'd like to cut him some slack but I too, cannot. Of course it's hard to put myself in his place but I just can't see my mind being clear enough to leave a burning vehicle and not help my friend out of the car too. It seems to me that if a person has a good sound mind that he would just instinctively do the right thing in that situation, even if he were a bit dazed and confused. Save yourself and save your friend. Seems kind of easy.
  10. I can remember no fewer than 3 eras in Bills history clearly worse than this one however I'd prefer not to talk about it. You must not be a long time Bills fan.
  11. Yeah some combination of intoxication and shock. I would think the shock would be very sobering. Sounds like he was pretty dazed though.
  12. And the score of the game is supposed to prove something? CB's point which you're missing is that it's debatable and guess what? It is debatable.
  13. Flynn is not an "answer quarterback." He's a "question quarterback" as in "I wonder if he's good enough to start in the NFL." He reminds me of a cross between Fitz and Matt Cassel. No thanks for me.
  14. You wanting the job is of course totally irrelevant. I'll let you guys argue this one but FWIW, there are people who've declined to interview with the Bills when Gailey was hired so I stand by my statement that the Bills head coaching job is not highly coveted. Coveted? Perhaps but not to established star coaches or up and comers. Coveted by B-list coaches? Probably.
  15. This is interesting and relevant: A person who happened by the accident during the aftermath said that the driver (and survivor) Brent, had to be coerced into pulling his late buddy Brown, out of the burning car. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/eyewitness-describes-scene-crash-claimed-life-cowboys-linebacker-170937707--nfl.html "I didn't know who he was," McWilliams added. "But I want people to understand that Josh Brent is not a hero. I keep hearing reports of how he was there to pull his friend from the fire, but he had to be coerced and pushed and begged and pleaded to get his friend out of the fire. And when he pulled him out, he just left him in the street. He didn't tell him 'Hang in there, help is on the way'. Nothing. He just left him there and I want the magnitude of that to be understood."
  16. Gailey's temperament is roughly similar to Jauron's. And both of their teams play hard but without much of an aggressive spirit. Teams can be a reflection of their coach's personality AND passive game decisions by a coach certainly don't send a message to the players that they need to play aggressively. There are many ways to motivate and inspire, one needn't yell and scream. That said, I don't think Gailey ranks very high in the motivation department. The players like him just like they liked Jauron. Being likable is not a great leadership quality.
  17. Interesting thought. I really respect that CJ is a respectful young man who won't publicly disparage his boss. I respect that a lot. But I see your point and I do admire when people are also brutally honest without being a-holes about it.
  18. I'm talking mostly about numbers (# of people in a bar) vs one cab/limo driver. Then I'm putting a bit of weight to the fact that some of these guys will actually honor the contract which calls for their confidentiality. The point is that word will get out via numerous people and the cabbie would be the least of the player's worries.
  19. I hope you're right because I honestly don't know if I could watch the Cheating Bastards***** in another Super Bowl.
  20. Moore's already starting in the NFL. And he's been playing very well. Offensive holding? That's doubly strange. Sometimes a coach has to show emotion (especially a guy like Gailey or Jauron who tend to impersonate mannequins). There can be any number of justifiable reasons for this. To lobby the ref for a makeup call later on, to show your players that you've got their backs. To strategically go out of character to try to light a fire under your team. I'm not a big fan of loud, demonstrative coaches but showing fire and emotion needs to be done from time to time. The last time I remember Gailey showing emotion was when he yelled at some kids for picking on Trent.
  21. Wade had better start getting that defense straightened out. If it were me I'd go up to Kareem Jackson and say, "Can I bring you some coffee or tea? Would you like a No Doz or a Red Bull or something? Let me know what I can get you because YOU'RE EFFIN ASLEEP OUT THERE." WAKE THE EFF UP AND PLAY FOOTBALL." Somehow I never knew Danny Woodhead went to the same college as Don Beebe. The Bills lost and both my fantasy teams lost. All I wanted was a good competitive game with Houston winning. This game is starting to suck very quickly.
  22. You can see by that tackle that Arian Foster could play defense. It's on plays like that where you can really see who the pure football players are.
