  1. Unless the Bills move up in the draft, they're more likely to pick the 3rd quarterback in the draft. In fact teams seeking a quarterback could easily leapfrog the Bills. And more to the point, the Bills might have to trade up themselves to ensure the quarterback that they covet from this class.
  2. The upside is that we're experts at it and it shouldn't take very long.
  3. I'm very skeptical that Jo(_)n Gruden would end up here but I agree 100% with your take. Don't and never did like him. He milked out improvement in Tampa Bay for one season just long enough to beat the team he coached the year before. They disposed of the Raiders easily because his successor Bill Callahan did nothing to change any of the systems that Gruden had put into place. It was the easiest coaching assignment of all: beating his former team and preying on the weaknesses of his former staff and players. Another bizarre feature to Gruden is that he doesn't use the shotgun. I wonder how that will fly in today's NFL. The young-looking old dog might have to learn some new tricks. As I said, I don't expect Gruden to coach the Bills but saying that he won't because he signed a contract extension with ESPN in 2011 only shows your naiveté in the ways of contracts. Oh, and of course he'd be an improvement over Gailey. But at what cost? If we're gonna break the bank and give someone near-total football authority, I'd rather it was someone else.
  4. If that includes the team which it most likely does, he's not worth much more than the team. This is a bit hard to believe to say the least. Amazing isn't it?
  5. Very cool! There was a lot of bad blood on that field.
  6. No visual evidence of a coach's handshake was there? Unless the network missed it. What a smackdown.
  7. Again, just to play along with the rumor if Gruden were talking with the Bills it could possibly be above Brandon's head.
  8. What was the score when Sidney Rice tried throwing that bomb downfield on the trick play?
  9. Just to play along with the rumor, in this hypothetical the GM would be getting the axe if Gruden was hired. He'd obviously come in as the top football guy in the organization.
  10. Yep. I'm looking forward to the post game handshake between the coaches.
  11. What a masterful performance tonight by Wilson.
  12. Well as long as he's a chip of the old block of granite. BTW, that would be a tough deal, being the son of Lombardi.
  13. Wow this is such a brutal sport. Makes me reflect on all the people who complain that football players are gonna be wearing skirts soon and that the new rules are ruining the sport. Manningham dropped that ball out of sheer pain, then got wacked again as he was spitting out his mouthguard.
  14. I used to get the same feeling watching Randall Cunningham, even when he was tearing up the league. It could be a simple case of us being wired to distrust a quarterback who isn't conventional in his style.
  15. Which member of the starting lineup will they insert the corn dog into?
  16. So, unlike Chip Kelly, Jim Harbaugh had a long playing career in the NFL AND coached as an assistant in the NFL.
  17. Yes. Besides his 15 year playing career in the NFL he was Raiders QB coach in '02-03 where he helped coach up career journeyman Rich Gannon to an MVP season.
  18. No prob Steve. Same to you and yours. KJ Wright was Chris White teammate at Mississippi State. Bobby Wagner has been a rookie gem. Seattle is stacked at linebacker. And in Clemons and Irvin they probably have the two fastest DEs in the NFL. Then you add maybe the biggest fastest secondary in NFL history and you have one helluva defense.
  19. As I've stated numerous times, I'm not good with hiring Chip Kelly. I know of zero head coaches who were successful in the NFL after never having coached in the NFL. Kelly has not even been an assistant in the NFL.
