  1. No. Apparently according to some here we're losers so we're not allowed to gloat.
  2. He was hired by Jim Harbaugh at Stanford who said of Shafer: “one of the most creative and innovative defensive minds in college football.”
  3. Scott Shafer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Shafer
  4. Live. Game. Thread. Rice hopelessly surrounded, doesn't secure the ball. Adrenaline I guess.
  5. Paul Hackett: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Hackett_(American_football)
  6. That's what I was saying. It was really impressive until the results started trickling in. They can still pull of the coup though.
  7. Well anyways, the Philly-Cleveland tug-of-war is apparently still going on so I guess I was early on this. One of those teams will be hiring their third choice though.
  8. How about all those "Bills fans" yesterday who were complaining that the Browns were making the Bills look bad? Bottom line, both teams had an interest in Kelly and Marrone. Sources out of Cleveland were actually saying that the Browns were trying to decide which one they liked better. The Bills got Marrone. It looks like Philly will get Kelly. Any way anyone wants to cut it up, Cleveland is the loser here.
  9. This, your 53rd post was an epic. A tour de force. I think you should quit while you're on top.
  10. The draft is in late April, no? We go through this every year. Do you know how much things (particularly draft boards) change in the next 4 months?
  11. As I stated earlier in the week, offensively the college game and the pro game are growing closer to each other more now than they have been in years. You see more read option and pistol stuff in the NFL while the colleges have long been attempting to emulate the NFL's pro-style passing attacks. Offenses in the NFL and in college are hybridizing concurrently. Also, some recent college hires have had excellent success in the personnel area and it might be that their college recruiting acumen gives them another useful perspective on NFL prospects.
  12. The thing is, Rams sources are saying Greg(g) won't be back even if he's reinstated by the NFL. And they just fired his arrogant a-hole son too. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8804050/suspended-defensive-coordinator-gregg-williams-return-st-louis-rams-according-sources http://www.stltoday.com/sports/football/professional/blake-williams-firing-may-forecast-gregg-s-fate-with-the/article_4d8cd0b2-4a81-5703-a436-8ecf93ff4966.html
  13. If Lovie isn't hired as a head coach during this cycle, he'll take the year off and collect his Bears salary. He won't be an assistant coach in the NFL. JMO.
  14. As has been posted here, the Carrier Dome ironically does not have air conditioning in spite of the fact that the facility is named after the largest HVAC company in the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrier_Corporation Those posters have said that the Carrier Dome is not used in the summertime for football games for that reason. Also, I don't buy the marketing angle theory of Marrone's hire. How many more fans will attend Bills games based on the name Doug Marrone? If the Bills start winning games, attendance will go up. But I'm thinking the Bills didn't hire a new HC based on the belief that they would increase season ticket sales in the mighty Syracuse-Rome-Utica market.
  15. Gre(g) Williams has been a good, not great coordinator. Overrated IMO. And as a person he's reprehensible. Dishonest, arrogant, self-interested. I don't want that POS anywhere near the Bills. If you think he's the answer you're not looking deeply enough Why did Jeff Fisher decide not to retain him?
  16. I was surprised that he only missed one game. That injury looked horrific.
  17. Also Marrone played for 2 seasons in the NFL. He was an O-lineman with Miami and New Orleans. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Doug_Marrone
  18. These are some of the coaches Marrone worked with in the NFL: 2002 Jets: Coached under Herm Edwards, coached with Paul Hackett OC 2003 Jets: same 2004 Jets: same, Donnie Henderson DC 2005 Jets: same, Mike Heimerdinger OC 2006 Saints: Coached under Sean Payton DC Gary Gibbs, Dennis Allen DL 2007 Saints: same 2008 Saints: same
