  1. Here's my scorecard on the Marrone hire vs the Gailey hire: 2010: Bills interview 3 coaches, are turned down for numerous interviews, everyone knows who they're interviewing and when, Bills settle for Gailey 2013: Bills interview 5 coaches, are turned down by no one, no one knows when the interviews took place, Bills hire their first or at worst, their second choice Like night and day. I'm thinking Buddy Nix had a very small role in this weeks events.
  2. I could recite the many more differences than similarities between Marrone and Gailey but I sense I'd be wasting my time.
  3. As far as I'm concerned? A bad coaching decision. But again, I said that he should have been rested against a run-for-the-bus Philly team so he had two weeks of rest and rehab instead of one week. I'm not against the decision to start him against Dallas in week 17 because Washington was competing directly with Dallas for the playoffs. And I can see where Shanny wanted to start him today but I thought after that roll-out play near the goal line it was obvious that he had worsened the injury and that Cousins should have been put in at that point, much earlier than what happened. Finally, all of this is ignoring the fact that the nation's leading orthopedic surgeon, James Andrews, stated that he did not clear RGIII to return to play in the game against Baltimore. Either Andrews or Shanny lied about this. Shanny keeps passing the buck saying the doctor this and Robert that. Bottom line, Shanny or his boy, the OC, needed to make the decision to pull him from the game when he reinjured his knee in the first half. He was obviously playing on one leg at that point and as good as he is, RGIII is not better on one leg than Kirk Cousins.
  4. In his only start this season, Cousins went 26-37 for 329, 2 TDs and 1 INT against a good Cleveland defense. And if you ignore the numbers and look at the actual performance, he played a damn near brilliant game.
  5. I work construction but I drive a service van now so I don't spend as much time in one place as I used to.
  6. There was a question about Seattle's ability to win on the road. This was mostly earlier in the year. I like them to go to Atlanta and beat the Falcons.
  7. And the more aware you are and the smarter a football player you are, the less you get hit. Thus the expression "taking needless punishment." RGIII has to show that he has better decision making in this area than does Michael Vick.
  8. Every time i read one of your posts, it reminds me of when the guy comes to pump out the porta-johns at work. It's uncanny.
  9. Another factor is that some players protect themselves better than others. RGIII was completely reckless on the play where he wrecked his knee. He ran with a total disdain for his own safety. Michael Vick is the same way. Russell Wilson seems to be much wiser about protecting himself. I don't really understand why some of these guys can't grasp the concept that if they get injured that they're hurting their team. It seems so simple.
  10. The question is how Herm Edwards is as a DC, not as a HC. His HC record is irrelevant.
  11. 3-1 on my picks against the spread. Uncommonly good for me.
  12. He got injured against Baltimore in week 14. He missed the week 15 game against Cleveland (where Cousins looked really good). He came back and played in week 16 vs a horrible Philly team and played in week 17 against Dallas. I thought they should have sat him against Philly. I think the controversy surrounds the Philly game but might include the Dallas game too.
  13. Washington needs a bit more help on the O-line for sure. And Seattle has some nice pressure every week.
  14. Even a blind armchair quarterback… I loved Robert Ayers and Tyson Jackson too.
  15. Bad offensive line + good pass rush = zero offense
  16. Bruce Irvin is having quite an impact on this game.
  17. Shanny completely botched the RGIII situation. This James Andrews story is gonna get a lot of play. Look how good Cousins looks. He looked good in the lone start he had too (a victory),
  18. Amazing that some people can't wrap their heads around the fact that Lynch didn't want to be here anymore. The well had been poisoned. His Mom jettisoned, he mentally jettisoned. Law enforcement and fans were all over his ass for NUMEROUS incidents. But it was a stupid move by the Bills to trade him? Idiotic criticism. The only valid criticism would be that maybe the Bills should have gotten more for Lynch, not that they shouldn't have traded him.
  19. It's too bad that RGIII didn't protect himself well enough on that long run which ended with Haloti Ngata nearly destroying him I'll never forget the sight of RGIII's knee flailing through the air like a fly rod. Too bad Shanny didn't give him an extra week to recover from his injury. It's not good to mishandle a franchise quarterback, especially when he has a more than capable backup. My Seahawks -3 is looking pretty good right now.
  20. I know you are but what am I? I believe Marrone had more interviews than any other HC candidate during this cycle. One could say that with the only possibly exception being Chip Kelly that Marrone was the most highly-sought out HC candidate. I think a lot of the naysayers here should reflect on that and consider what value that might have.
  21. Night game. Good idea. Also there are auxiliary AC units available.
