1. It is debatable because it's being debated. 2. We have huge needs in several areas. MLB/ILB is not, in my opinion, an impact position. The Bills only had 30 sacks last year. My belief is that they'd be better served with a pass rusher. 3. He's one of the top 5 players in the league according to who?

I'd love to see a live cam of Bill from NYC if that were to happen. -
Wow. A lot of votes for Patrick Willis. Many if not most close followers of the Niners feel that Navarro Bowman was the team's best ILB this year. I'm quite surprised to say the least. Also I wonder how many NFL GMs would pick Patrick Willis over Aaron Rodgers. I'm thinking zero. edit: My 4th pick would be Adrian Peterson, by far the best runner in the NFL. With AD, our O-line and Spiller, the Bills running attack would be unstoppable.

Me too. I think Merriman has a chance to improve over 2012 while Kelsay peaked a long time ago, IMO.

Good points. I don't have a feel for the texture of the 2013 draft yet but I believe in drafting pass rushers every year. I thought it was a mistake to go free agency with pass rushers last year because I thought there were too many good draftable pass rushers. I liked Bruce Irvin, Melvin Ingram, Quinton Coples, Chandler Jones, Nick Perry, and Andre Branch all very much. I wasn't as high on Whitney Mercilus or Shea McClellin but they were there too. All things being equal, I see pass rusher as a primary need, just below quarterback and even with wide receiver.

One guy's first look at the Syracuse offense
San Jose Bills Fan replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe that's referred to as "The Talleywhacker Situation." -
That one is really weird. Matter thought so too as he redded Wilson. One thing I'd say about the guys who do this stuff is I'd feel a little better about it if I knew that it was former scouts doing the grading. Another thing that came to mind is this: For the first time this year, those people with NFL Game Rewind could watch the "All-22 Camera." I wonder how much these guys (PFF, CHFF, FOS) utilize the All-22.

I remember watching a highlight video of Anderson after he was signed. I remember that he used hustle and speed for all of his sacks and that many of them were coverage sacks. It seemed clear that he didn't have a power component to his game or much in the way of polished moves. That said, he's had double digit sack totals twice in his career. It seems that if the coordinator can play to his strengths, that he could be a good weapon. ThenI got to wondering about using him standing up instead of with his hand in the dirt.

Brian Kelly interviews with the Eagles

If this was all about leverage for a pay increase, why the charade? Couldn't Kelly have sat down with the AD and said, "The football team surpassed all expectations. No one expected us to be undefeated and ranked number one. We're gonna have another great recruiting class in here and we've brought this program back to national prominence. I feel I deserve a raise. What do you think?" It seems like he could have taken a different more virtuous approach (this is Notre Dame isn't it?) if this was simply about getting more compensation. -
Anderson looked horrible before his season ended with injury. I wonder if he would be a more effective player rushing from a two point stance.

The irony of Shawne Merriman is that he no longer seems capable of getting to the quarterback but he seems like a good run defender. I would re-phrase the question about Merriman, Merriman or Kelsay?

I'm not buying it Jim. Any response to those people who are apologists for Dareus would have been better than the one that you chose. I will continue to believe that saying "Does he have any more brothers?" was a failed and tasteless attempt at humor. I appreciate you answering me and defending yourself.
