  1. Well, at least the world wouldn't end. Kokbills hates haikus Hate wasted on poetry Poetry is life Let's play word association. I'll start by giving you the first words: Honey Badger.
  2. Idzik resigned himself to spewing rhetoric like this when he agreed to become the Jets GM. I'm sure Woody told him before he was hired in no uncertain terms that they are going to hold onto Sanchez for at least one more season.
  3. Jauronimo speaks for me, in both of his posts. Mmmm. Foie Gras.
  4. I do too. He's the sort of talent that even teams who don't have a need for a pass rusher have to seriously consider drafting if he's there.
  5. Mannc is correct. I only know this because of the recent news about Russell Wilson's contract. Under the new CBA, a player cannot renegotiate a contract until after they complete their 3rd NFL season. So the Seahawks will be paying Wilson peanuts as their starter for the first three years of his career. As Dibs pointed out, because Kaep comes cheaply, there is still a chance that the Niners retain Smith. I think there's a 50/50 chance of Smith being retained which is not really going out on a limb but is very different from those who are treating his departure as a forgone conclusion. The one thing I don't know about is the Niners overall salary situation. Also if the Niners win the Super Bowl, there could be a few players who try to cash in off the victory.
  6. Well after hammering Joe on this one, it's only fair to mention that the Jets had an internal dialogue about JaMarcus Russell in the days following the firing of GM Mike Tannenbaum shortly after the season ended: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/28/jets-have-explored-jamarcus-russell/ http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2013/01/with_a_few_names_in_fold_jets.html More recently, after Tannenbaum was let go, members of the organization had some very exploratory, informal discussions regarding former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the 2007 No. 1 overall pick who flamed out of the NFL after the 2009 season. Russell recently decided to mount a comeback in hopes of returning to the league next season.
  7. It's kind of a weird situation. The link that Rob's House posted tells the story: Freeman is not being offered an extension and the Bucs are letting him enter the final year of his rookie deal. After next season, he would become an unrestricted free agent. The Bucs are making him play a "prove it" season before trying to sign him. By risking losing him in free agency, the team is clearly not sold on Freeman at this point.
  8. The teams actually conducts baseline testing for players entering the league. It is mandated by the NFL. But regardless, the NFLPA to my knowledge has not championed any cause that would protect the health of the players, with the possible exception of limiting the practice and training camp schedules. "All NFL players are administered baseline concussion tests when they report to training camp, and periodically during the season, as a point of reference." 9. Actually every safety initiative in the NFL has been spearheaded by the league offices. The players association refuses to champion safety. The reason is that the NFLPA wants the league to bring safety to the bargaining table so that the players can initially oppose it in collective bargaining until the league sweetens the pot elsewhere. The NFLPA has done little or nothing for player safety issues.
  10. I don't think anyone here considered Donte Whitner or Paul Poszluzny a top player but the loss of those two players hurt the Bills substantially, IMO. Bottom line for me, you can't keep creating holes in the starting lineup. You can't keep burning draft picks for filling holes. The team never improves if that's what your draft picks are being spent on. I think you're referring to the PFF player rankings. Considering that there are 64 starting guards in the NFL and Levitre is ranked by them at 17, that tells me that he's an excellent player. And again, here's a guy who never misses games and can play multiple positions. I hope to God we can retain both Levitre and Byrd and I feel like we will.
  11. McCoy is an interesting name for that role.
  12. And what is your proposal for a stopgap starter/eventual backup/mentor to the quarterback of the future? It's a given that the Bills are gonna draft a quarterback. How else do they address the position? Seems like the only real other options besides Campbell are Matt Moore and possibly Alex Smith in that role.
  13. No. It's just that people here like intelligent discussion, not unsupported blanket statements or rebuttals that don't address the points raised. Cappy is a good poster. He doesn't need your guidance. What is your proposal for a stopgap starter/eventual backup/mentor to the quarterback of the future? Fitz? If so that's fine. I don't see it happening though.
  14. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/155298-bleacher-report-lists-bills-giants-super-bowl-as-best-of-all-time/
  15. Senor LEVI Brown??!!!??!!! You should try not to overstate your case. It only weakens your mostly valid point.
  16. The 2010 team was coached by Tom Cable and went 8-8. The 2011 team was coached by Hue Jackson and went 8-8. They were not very talented teams so Campbell's 61% winning percentage on .500 teams is a strong point in his favor. Again, as a stopgap starter/eventual backup/mentor to the quarterback of the future, Campbell is one of the best options now available.
  17. Dion Jordan is 6'7" tall. He doesn't resemble Von Miller. If anything, he's an Aldon Smith type player. Well for one thing, Hunt isn't a sleeper.
  18. They come here so they can gain wisdom from the likes of you and I.
  19. Obviously you responded to my post without comprehending one word of it.
  20. The Bills don't have one single quality backup quarterback on their roster. Unless you want to pay $10 million for a guy who said after the season ended that he was "a starting quarterback in the NFL."
