  1. DeCastro was by far the top rated guard in his class. Some people here were saying he was a can't miss guy who the Bills should draft, dominant offensive line, yada yada yada. He was taken at #24. They were saying the same thing about Danny Watkins and Watkins was taken at #23. My main point is that you don't take guards at #8. It's a low impact position. And if you do, be prepared to be disappointed with the pick. My final point is that you don't assume someone who's never played in the NFL will be an improvement over someone who's already proven to be an outstanding player.
  2. Well his signing bonus is the responsibility of the Lions and he never played a down for the Rams. Aside from reporting bonuses, roster bonuses, and workout bonuses, can a player get money if he is never an active player for a team?
  3. All three were the top-rated guards in their draft class and had numerous posters lobbying for them as draft targets. People were saying the exact same things about DeCastro as they are about Warmack this year. Watkins and DeCastro have done nothing in their NFL careers so far. And you don't draft a guard that highly and you never assume that some guy is the exception to that rule when he's never played a snap in the NFL.
  4. I could be wrong but I don't think so Cappy. He never played a down with them and if he clears waivers, he'll become a free agent.
  5. TJax reportedly signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract. I haven't seen any report of the signing bonus and of course that might give some clues as to figuring out what's going on at One Bills Drive. If the bonus is relatively small, he could easily be cut and it would seem to make Fitz the favorite to stay on as stop-gap starter/eventual backup. If Jackson's signing bonus is large, it might put him on more equal footing with Fitz. Just thinking out loud here.
  6. Yes, Fisher has successfully taken on reclamation projects before, most recently Janoris Jenkins last year. Regardless of him cutting Titus Young again, as I mentioned upthread, there was zero cost to the Rams for taking a look-see.
  7. Great points. Like I also said earlier, the Bills have no shortage of candidates for worst HC.
  8. Without clicking the link, those were the days of Flying Wedge football. Once they outlawed the Flying Wedge, they pretty much eliminated the fatalities.
  9. The thing is Doc, I never wanted the guy. IMO you don't draft a non-pass rushing LB that high under any circumstances. Then when you mix in the off-field stuff, it clinches it for me.
  10. Actually, I have it on good authority that I'm rather dim-witted. But compared to you I'm a genius.
  11. Well it's a bit late for that. Does anyone still wanna draft this guy at #8?
  12. I got on you due to your conspiracy theory on the quarterback situation but this here is a righteous post!
  13. So instead of strengthening the roster, you replace an excellent player with one who's never played a down in the NFL? And one who plays the same position? That's progress?
  14. Very true and to the point, Pete Carroll gets a great deal out of the players that he puts on his rosters.
  15. "Chance" Warmack? Is he any relation to Danny Watkins or David DeCastro? Please people.
  16. I dunno Bill. After signing TJax and still having Fitz under contract? I think the Bills are set with their "veteran quarterbacks." I agree that they'll go after their QB OTF in this draft.
  17. Let me know if you have any openings in your league. I'm always up for easy money.
  18. Probably people who would like to see their children play youth football. Also, those kids who want to play youth football. Probably also those people who want to coach and officiate youth football and of course those people who like to watch youth football. Glad I could increase your comprehension of the world around you.
  19. I don't buy that the defense is as bad as their stats showed last year. The reason I believe this is because I do believe that Wannstedt was way over his head last year. It's likely to me that the simple replacing of Wanny with Pettine will make a huge difference. I expect the defense to be at least as good as it was during the Jauron years, middle of the road or so.
