  1. Words of wisdom. I particularly agree that it's very hard to evaluate players on a poorly coached team. Wannstedt might have been the worst defensive coordinator the Bills have ever had. That said, the early returns on Aaron Williams are not encouraging. Sometimes he merely makes me smile. Seems like a good guy.
  2. With one injury, the Bills are suddenly thin at that position. As I've been saying for a few years now, I'd like to see a good-quality running back brought in for depth. Freddy's getting old and CJ is a bit smallish. I consider Tashard Choice and Johnny White to be mediocrities.
  3. There were plenty of people in this very thread who were espousing the wisdom of drafting Teo at #8. Just look at the first couple of pages.
  4. For a 2nd rounder? For a 3rd rounder? Apparently not. Good point. Pretty relevant to the discussion actually. Thanks.
  5. Yep. When the prospects lie on that bench, they're trying to get the most reps which means they're pumping fast and furious. It's all explosive movements until they run out of gas.
  6. FWIW, Bucky thinks Bray could be "the steal of the 2013 draft" and thinks the Bills would be a good fit for him: http://www.nfl.com/c...-as-bigarmed-qb Tyler Bray might be the most gifted passer in the 2013 NFL Draft, but teams haven't viewed him as a legitimate franchise-caliber quarterback due to his prickly personality and adolescent ways. However, coaches and scouts are reconsidering their respective opinions on Bray after seeing the Tennessee star light up passing drills over the past few days at the NFL Scouting Combine. Bray has been one of the most impressive throwers in Indy, showing outstanding arm strength, velocity and touch on a variety of throws to wide receivers, tight ends and running backs. From high-arcing tosses to vertical throws to lasers on intermediate routes, Bray has the capacity to hit receivers in strides at every distance. Furthermore, he showed the ability to change speeds and trajectories on his throws depending on the circumstance. When I looked at Bray's film from the fall, I believed he was a gifted passer with A-plus arm talent. He showed the capacity to make all of the throws from the pocket with zip and velocity. Although his ball placement and accuracy fluctuates due to his sloppy footwork and fundamentals, Bray's ability to make tight-window throws separates him from others at the position. Additionally, Bray is one of the few quarterbacks in the draft with experience playing in a pro-style offense that featured traditional drops from under center, quick throws from the shotgun and pistol, and play-action passes from two-back formations. Given the importance NFL coaches place on playing the game effectively from the pocket, Bray's game is ideally suited for Sundays.
  7. I don't think so KH. Because of the # of snaps Cook lined up in the slot, he and his representation are trying to make the case that he should get the franchise tag for wide receivers. Regardless, I'd heard the Titans were fine with slapping the TE franchise tag on him. Personally I don't think he's worth it and I bet the Bills feel the same way. But of course I'm guessing.
  8. Like eball said, 10 3/8 which was the largest of the 16 QBs in attendance. Like Peter Pan I use this site for the numbers: http://footballsfuture.com/2013/combine/qb.html
  9. Most relevant is the fact that many of the cornerbacks in the same weight class (mid 180s) were hoisting 10-17 reps. The highest cornerback (reps not weed) had 22 while one other CB did only 4. The average looks to be around 14. Well, pot is a helluva lot stronger than it was back then. Or so I've heard.
  10. Wow. He really had a tremendous senior year. Interestiing that he's not even entertaining a shot at the NFL.
  11. Agree. Any team that would consider drafting him at any spot will do their due diligence and have their team doctors check him out.
  12. Wait? Nix said these things? I thought they were Jauronisms? Man I hope you're kidding.
  13. Well done! BTW, Andre Reed is not the only NFL player who played at Kutztown. He was the best but there's another guy from there who had a good NFL career. Anyone without Googling?
  14. I wish you'd stop reminding us that Nix said this…after having the opportunity to draft AJ Green and Andy Dalton/Colin Kaepernick himself…and passing on that opportunity. Also, please don't remind us (if you get the notion) that Nix recently said that if there's a QB you like that you have to pick him a round earlier than where you have him rated. Thank you.
  15. Yep. The last two "Maybin clones" were Von Miller and Bruce Irvin. As I felt strongly about Miller and Irvin, Jordan is way better than Maybin. Jordan does need to work on his strength and his game but his raw skills are off the charts. It's a given that he'll be utilized as a pass rusher but an imaginative DC would find ways to use his freakish speed and length in other ways including in short zones and even shadowing tight ends. I think Jordan is somewhat analogous to Cordarelle Patterson in that you can see that his natural talent is off the charts. I never saw that with Maybin. And the workout numbers confirm the game tape: http://footballsfuture.com/2013/combine/de.html Second only to Ansah in 10 yard split, tied for 3rd among 21 DEs in the forty, first in the broad jump, and a good vertical jump of 32.5. I see he didn't bench though.
  16. This is a good idea for a topic. Fisk-->Robert James Saginaw Valley State-->? John Carroll-->?

  18. From Howard Balzer via The Chicago Tribune: http://www.chicagotr...0,3916173.story Garrett Gilkey is a small-school OT prospect from Chadron State (Don Beebe's alma mater) who has big school talent. Except ironically for the fact that of he had the second slowest 40 time of all the OTs.
  19. I've always wanted to spend a getaway weekend in New Orleans. Food and hedonism. I might try making this one depending on when the game is.
  20. Yeah the Bills have basically backed themselves into a corner both from the perspective of quarterbacks, but also from an overall standpoint. The goodwill has evaporated and now their margin for error on all fronts is nearly zero. Now they have to try to make a high percentage of correct decisions while under very heavy organizational duress. It's sad that in a league engineered for parity that it's come to this. Marrone and company have a very difficult task ahead.
