  1. I thought you were calling him "old timer" like he was an old fogey. Then I realized you were talking to OldTimer. So, never mind. Well this is awkward.
  2. Couldn't they sign and trade? Or trade and sign after rescinding the franchise tag? Anyone?
  3. All things considered, this is not a surprise. At least to me. I'm basically hoping for one starting quality player at any position. Preferably a cornerback, linebacker, or tight end.
  4. I think I'm 24 hours off. I guess Legal Tampering can start at midnight tomorrow. Sorry everyone. You say you are but I think you're not. Funny concept though.
  5. Well the official Legal Tampering period begins in just a few hours (less than 2 I believe) so we'll start hearing rumors VERY SOON about which players are being courted by which teams. I would even say it's probable that when we wake up tomorrow we'll know where some players will sign on the 12th.
  6. I don't know if you read the article Doc linked. It said in part: Nelson has been training at Athletes’ Performance in Dallas. He recently began running routes with free-agent quarterback Seneca Wallace throwing to him. Nelson said the original rehabilitation schedule estimated he would begin running routes in April. Nelson described his biggest hurdles now as a lack of confidence to put all of his pressure on the knee when making cuts and a hamstring that needs to be strengthened. Because of the question marks, Nelson likely won’t know what teams are interested for a few more weeks. I certainly understand the Bills not wanting to make a financial commitment to a player who is still a medical question mark. Also I think that with so many teams very tight to the cap that we are seeing an unprecedented amount of pencil sharpening by team capologists. Every penny ($1000K) counts and could be the difference between a successful or unsuccessful free agent bid.
  7. On the defensive side, these advanced stats from ProFootballFocus that were cited were kind of interesting: Kyle Moore generated 32 quarterback pressures (sacks, hits, hurries) despite being asked to rush the passer 283 times. His 8.8 “Pass Rush Productivity” grade, related to the amount of pressures per pass rushing snap, ranked Moore as the 25th best pass rushing 4-3 defensive end in the National Football League. Moore would be a situational player, because while an effective pass rusher, he struggled mightily against the run. His -7.1 ProFootballFocus grade in that department graded him 55th out of a possible 62 4-3 defensive ends in terms of run support.
  8. Thanks for posting. Just read the offensive one. Two thoughts: The Rams are a very WR needy team. How is it that they are letting Brandon Gibson hit the open market especially when it's not projected that it'll take a big contract to sign him? There are favorable reviews on the guy and the Rams could lose Amendola. You'd think they'd overpay a bit to retain Gibson. I could definitely see Levitre leaving and Rhinehart ascending to the starting lineup.
  9. Yep. Gailey and Wanny left us with a lot of head scratchers.
  10. Thanks Doc. “The hardest part is the realization that we’re not going to be able to finish what we started and what we were building on,” Nelson said. “All that work we put in – individually and collectively – to bring that city something they deserve is difficult. “That city deserves a championship. They’re dying for a playoff-caliber team.” The Bills could bring him back at a salary well below the $1.323 million tender. The 2013 minimum salary for a player with three accrued seasons is $358,000. That’s a wide gulf to negotiate savings."
  11. That was very impressive. You could see that USC had the better athletes and had a constant pass rush on him and good coverage on the receivers. The 4th quarter was very impressive. He made some throws into tight windows for sure and his receivers started making great catches for him, which often happens when players are inspired by their quarterback. Talk about a quick-twitch athlete. His decision-making and reactions were always a split second faster than everyone elses. I was very impressed.
  12. That's great to hear. I'm intrigued by this kid, a dark horse racing up draft boards. It's a bit odd and quite exciting. Welcome aboard JB. Good having you.
  13. Okay. I guess I was being a bit too oblique. How's this: Steven Jackson has averaged one fumble for every 133 carries. Stevan Ridley has averaged one fumble for every 75 carries. Is that better? It had to do with playing time but had zero to do with money. Jackson had a players option for this year and could have stayed with the Rams for a guaranteed $7 million but asked the Rams to let him go. It had zero to do with money and everything to do with being a starter and a main cog. Like I said earlier while questioning an ironclad statement that Ridley is better than Jackson, Jackson is a warrior. “It would be more of a running back by committee kind of agreement [with the Rams] going forward,” Jackson said. “I embrace the fact that I took in Daryl [Richardson] and Isaiah Pead and taught them a lot and hopefully they’ll go on to not only excel, but be very good athletes and good professionals in this league. But for where I’m at going into year 10, I’m not ready to step back and just become a primary backup or reduced role guy, to be a part of a running back by committee. I still have a lot left in my tank. I still have a lot to offer a team. We’re not talking about someone that is in year 12 or 13. But I understand. I understand the business side of it. I still have a great relationship with the organization and one day I’ll be going back there.” Yeah I'll take the great Steven Jackson over some unproven kid.
  14. There are lots of good FA cornerbacks this year. Because of the supply, it's possible that some of them might be very good values. It would behoove the Bills to sign a veteran free agent in the name of saving draft picks for other positions.
  15. He's lost a step and coverage was never his strong suit to begin with. That said, he'd probably be a great nickel LB.
  16. I disagree about the shoulder but agree about the arm strength. I don't remember a single QB who had chronic shoulder problems and as you might recall, Jim Kelly lost most of his senior year at Miami to a separated shoulder. I don't believe it affected his football career. I am concerned about Barkley's very ordinary measurables coupled with the lack of proof of him having any intangibles.
  17. Did you, you know, have fun? Probably both the NFL and DirecTV have done numerous studies.
  18. I think the reason you state is valid and is also exacerbated by the fact that these teams are located in prime college football territory.
  19. It'll be interesting to see which quarterbacks go where. Apparently (according to your link) Nassib also had an excellent Pro Day so his stock is unlikely to fall I think. We're getting close fellas. Only 48 more days till the draft!
  20. Yeah I'm not one who trusts statistics very much but when you couple a high completion percentage with a high yards per attempt, it's hard to imagine a scenario where that player is inaccurate. Not saying it's not possible, but just hard to imagine. I never wanted Mallett and still don't but in fairness, he hasn't taken enough snaps to evaluate his play.
  21. Dude. Get a grip. This site is using Incarcerated Bob as their source. Remember Incarcerated Bob? http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/156263-incarcerated-bob-to-fabricate-bills-info/
  22. Serious question: Are you always a negative, insulting a-hole or only when you post on this site? You love to criticize other's posts in a sarcastic manner but you never have anything of value to add. Ever. You're arguably the worst POS on this board. If you're so damned knowledgeable about football how about sharing some of your brilliant insights instead of spending 100% of your time cutting down other posters and mocking everything that the Bills do?
