  1. It lends more credibility but the same rules apply. You're not a physician, you haven't seen his X-rays and scans. And even if you were and you had, I'm thinking when one physician declares him a risk and another one doesn't that Jones' medical condition is probably in a grey area. NONE of us know. Even the doctors don't really "know."
  2. Or their medical staff. And I'm not criticizing.
  3. LOL! So far this morning we've had Danario spelled Donorio and also Denario. I think people are so excited about free agency today that they didn't get much sleep last night.
  4. I done reckon it is how you say it is. Well until he's replaced I'll continue hoping he improves. I'm feeling a bit bloated. Can I go to the bathroom? Projectile coffee... 1)Overdorf does the contracts 2) The person you quoted (BuffOrange) was agreeing with all the others that it's perfectly acceptable to criticize the GM's drafting. Of everyone posting in this thread only BillsWatch objected to the retrospective criticism of Nix's drafts.
  5. Because the blue sentence states that no one has a clue about his health issues and then the brown sentence attempts to make an informed statement about his health issues.
  6. As my sole contribution to this latest Fitz thread (it is the latest one isn't it?) I'll drop this old adage usually attributed to Whitman, to the OP. If I have to explain it you wouldn't understand.
  7. I think what it really boils down to is whether you'd rather have a slightly higher all-time winning percentage and head to head bragging rights along with 4 Super Bowl losses OR you'd rather be one for one in Super Bowls with that one win being one of the most historical championship games in professional sports history.
  8. As I said upthread, this is a rebuilding year for the Ravens. Super Bowl winners often times have lousy seasons after winning the world championship and it looks to me like the Ravens are accepting that they'll have to endure pain in 2013 before getting back on track in 2014. At least with the trade of Boldin, they have a better chance of re-signing Ellerbe or Kruger. Both being younger players, I'm sure that's what they'd like to do. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/09/anquan-boldin-claims-ravens-havent-asked-him-to-rework-contract/
  9. Some related updates on the Boldin/Flacco/Ravens story. There's talk that the Niners are resigned to losing Goldson and are targeting the Ravens Ed Reed as his replacement. Also, Ravens starting OLT Bryant McKinnie has publicly said that there would be no discount for the Ravens this year. He is an unrestricted free agent and for one of the rare times in his career, he actually played up to his immense talent last year. Finally for Harbaugh Brothers Conspiracy Theorists, FWIW the Vikings offered Baltimore a 7th rounder for Anquan Boldin before the Niners bested the offer with a 6th. It's hard to believe that the Ravens wouldn't have given Minnesota a chance to increase their offer. Very likely, the Vikings didn't want to sweeten the pot anymore.
  10. I've never ever made any comment about Jones because as you point out, none of us have any clue. However your bolded words above are kind of ironic.
  11. Never mind that. Let's just focus on the warm, gauzy memories.
  12. Two ridiculous assertions in one short sentence. Considering they won the Super Bowl, you're not exactly going out on a limb here. I see your view on this whole Flacco/Ravens issue has evolved in this thread so I'll only point out (as you already started to suggest) that this is actually a rebuilding year for the Ravens. Ray Lewis is gone, Reed could go. Suggs is aging. Rice has high mileage. AND, the record for Super Bowl winning teams the following year is pretty dismal. Many SB winners fail to make the playoffs the following year. The Ravens would never admit it but Ozzie is taking the broad view of things and that means accepting that the team will lose players to free agency and retirement. He's trying to get the cap back in order so he can start to reload. This is a transitional year for the Ravens. Also, Flacco's deal was fairly team-friendly considering the big numbers. And then he changed his tune a few days ago.
  13. I don't know but here's the place to find out: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/game_query.cgi?tm1=buf&tm2=nyj&yr=all http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/head-to-head.htm'>http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/head-to-head.htm http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/
  14. Dibs, in the mainstream where most people reside it is less pronounced because due to the electronic media, all of our worlds become more homogeneous. Television and internet tend to make us more similar in how we dress, talk, think, etc. However that said, strong regional biases and chauvinisms still exist without a doubt. I believe these biases exists in smaller countries but in a large country like the U.S. regions are often very far from each other, farther than many countries are from each other in other parts of the world for instance. This factor makes for distinctly different cultures within our country.
  15. Free agency begins tomorrow. The Jets priority should be _____________. A new social media coordinator LOL
  16. Interestingly the Jets are one of a small handful of teams that: 1) The Bills have a higher all-time winning percentage than, and 2) The Bills lead the all-time series between Unfortunately, the Jets won their first and only Super Bowl appearance in the AFL/AFC's first Super Bowl win ever and in a game where their quarterback guaranteed victory. In contrast you all know our Super Bowl history. So in spite of being a historically better franchise than them, we don't really own the Jets because in the most important category, they lead. For the record I've always thought Garrard was a good quarterback on a bad team and in his prime was a much better quarterback than the one we've watched as our starter for the last 3 years. JMO.
  17. I've definitely seen indications that Nix is a dogmatic thinker but I think he's slowly evolving, due to the graphic nature of his mistakes. His comments about drafting a quarterback these days are in sharp contrast to his comments when he was hired. His comments about trading in the draft have also tempered somewhat. I think Nix has made enough mistakes that he's been forced to re-evaluate some of his core beliefs. Hopefully he can continue to do well what he does well and improves on those things that he does poorly. I'm not sure what your point is and how it is relevant to the OP. He's talking about Nix's very strong propensity of drafting players from the south.
  18. I know you're generally against sleep but you really need to take a nap.
  19. It should be very easy to fill the third spot but we have poor depth there with two co-starters and not a single quality reserve. And yet the posters here gave our running back depth the very highest grade. That is my point.
  20. Thanks for doing this Numark. I enjoyed the exercise. I still strongly disagree with the great majority here as far as the Bills running back depth. Basically we're two deep with nothing in reserve. One of our backs is a bit undersized and the other one is a bit old. We're one injury away from being very thin there. That's not good depth and it's not even above average depth. You want a team with running back depth look at New Orleans. Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory, Darren Sproles. THAT'S DEPTH. A team should have three good running backs in order to be considered above average. How we rate as having good depth (the highest grade), I have no idea. The other positions I more or less agree with.
