  1. I dunno Bobo. I hope Marv's line about the best rookies being last year's rookies holds true because he needs to make a big jump. The thing I thought was obvious about TJ immediately after drafting him last year was that his football speed on tape didn't seem that impressive to me. It almost seems like the Bills fell in love with his timed/track speed. The whole TJ Graham thing is a debacle of the highest order. We burn a draft pick to move up two spots and then instead of drafting Russell Wilson, we draft his former teammate. I should be over it by now but, but, :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  2. Or you know? Anyways it's certainly a possibility that the Bills doctors (and those of other teams) have not cleared Alexander medically. Regardless it's amazing that the guy is considered a medical risk and yet in 10 games (7 starts) last year he had 37 receptions for 658 yards (17.8 ypc) and 7 TDs. That is some serious production.
  3. Well going back to my point about Alexander trying out for the Bills last September (and in view of the rest of the league not yet showing an interest in him) do you think Buddy would publicly admit to his error by now offering Alexander a contract? I don't know the answer but it seems more likely than the alternative that Nix would not want to make an offer to Alexander now based on him not offering Alexander a contract 6 months ago. Just playing psychologist here.
  4. I agree with Stealth the most. Greene runs hard and is tough to bring down. That said, he has zero escapability and explosiveness. Probably 99% of his runs are between 2 and 5 yard gains. I think the Titans overpaid for him. I also agree with Bowery that the Titans have spent a lot of money but quite poorly. I don't think so. If this team didn't re-sign Donald Jones and David Nelson, I don't think they're gonna re-sign Choice. I think that part of the reason Choice was even a Bill was because Chan Gailey coached him at Georgia Tech. After having witnessed the (non) moves this free agency period, I believe the Bills feel they can pay a rookie a lot less than they would Tashard Choice (Choice made $1.75 million last year) and get the same performance or better for a third stringer.
  5. Yep. It takes a special person to tell another person that he has no basis for his opinions and accuse that person of embellishing and then when proven wrong, doesn't bother to apologize to that person. Those are the type of people we want raising children.
  6. Only GG even alluded to it. In light of how many pissed off people are on the board these days, I'm surprised no one has actually explicitly mentioned that the Bills worked out Alexander in late September and opted not to sign him.
  7. Then you factor in that several states don't even have a state income tax and it really puts NYS in its proper perspective.
  8. A combined Buffalo/Cleveland squad would not make the playoffs because they don't have a quarterback. I thought this was the one concept that our board more or less agreed on.
  9. I think preseason would be sufficient. As the competition committee members have said repeatedly, this is not a rule that will be overcalled. IMO, people will be surprised by how seldom this rule is enforced and the rule change will be pretty much a non issue. Except for that segment of society that likes to B word about things.
  10. Or do we only have to cater to you in this discussion? Oh. I see. Say no more.
  11. And do you speak for everyone on the board including those who might not have known this? Myself for instance? Maybe NoSaint was also curious about his combine work?
  12. http://footballsfuture.com/2013/combine/olb.html It looks like Jarvis Jones didn't workout at the combine.
  13. Urlacher at his age is probably not a good fit for any NFL team but it's a fun discussion. See I had heard the opposite from Bears fans I know. They say he can still play at a pretty high level but that he's always nicked up and that he's played through some chronic injuries which could really hamper him post-career. Didn't he have like a 50 yard INT return this past season? From everything I've read, Dallas has zero money due to the big penalty they and the Redskins got from the NFL. I thought it had already been established that Dallas was not a possibility. In his prime, Urlacher could play in any scheme. Big, fast, tough, great in coverage and great instincts. The 3-4 favors larger LBs and Urlacher is still 6'4" and 260 pounds. What a great player.
  14. Johnson is playing under a 6-year $55 million contract he signed in 2011. He recently stated his goal is still to run for 2000 yards. At Shonn Greene's introductory press conference Greene said that he knew that Chris Johnson was the starter. It's kinda funny to see CJ sound so threatened by the new guy. I like his competitive nature but he seems a bit insecure too.
  15. Damn. Cassidy's on Main and Amherst. Used to go there too. Then down the street to the great taco place on Main near the old Tralf. Taco Grande. They steamed their tortillas and they had black beans decades before other places which used pinto beans. Mighty Taco is awesome but Taco Grande was the best!
  16. I don't know how you ask about Buffalo and Cleveland without including the Detroit Lions. These cities are our Great Lakes cousins. Culturally they're almost like siblings, more so than the other Great Lakes teams (Chicago, Green Bay). I would be overjoyed if Cleveland or Detroit won a Super Bowl or even made it to one for that matter. Of the formerly major U.S. cities, we are the three who have suffered the most misfortune.
  17. Weird segue into Jim Kelly. Did someone else bring him up? I guess I missed it. Kelly was a great QB regardless of what he did off the field. That's why he has "legendary status." And regarding his personal life, I think most people laud him for turning his life around, becoming a very solid father, husband, and charitable leader, and an outspoken and proud resident of WNY and an ambassador and fan of the Buffalo Bills. When Kelly speaks these days it seems to me that he wears the wisdom of a person who has learned from the errors of his younger days. Not sure why you feel the need to attack him in this conversation.
  18. None of the players liked the "hitting a defenseless receiver" rule. Not even the receivers. Almost to a man the receivers said that it was part of football and they accepted it. It was almost like being in favor of the rules made them pussies. None of the players like the fact that the NFL will now enforce the mandatory wearing of hip and knee pads that the officials have been ignoring. However the players should be grateful to the league (whatever the league's motivations) for the numerous initiatives in trying to make NFL football more safe because their own union, the NFLPA rarely makes an issue of player safety. The NFLPA doesn't want to substitute player safety for their primary bargaining chips of asking for more money. Again the players almost never like player safety rules because they're macho guys. If guys on construction sites weren't required to wear hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and safety vests, believe me, most of them wouldn't. And as WEO, Wayne and others have pointed out, all of us will continue to watch and enjoy NFL football as much as we ever have. It's just that there will be a bit more to complain about for those people who feel the need to complain about things in the world around us. edit: Believe me, some people are gonna say this is an example of "too much government regulation," "big brother looking over our shoulders," etc.
  19. Yeah, that's the biggest question in my mind. Where is the field that most of those photos taken on?

  21. Also as Bandit points out, sleep deprivation is a key ingredient.
  22. You've been very disagreeable lately and I'm pretty much gonna ignore you from now on. Seriously, how does a guy like that, from a good program to boot, not get a combine invite?
  23. First time for me too. It looked like a fumble for sure. Arguably the worst officiating call in NFL history.
