  1. And what I see is an incredibly gifted quarterback with great intangibles who has played very well in spite of missing half of the preseason and 4.5 weeks of the regular season (before today's game). I consider myself a pretty good observer of the NFL and I think he's played well. It's astounding to me how many people dwell on his bad plays ignoring the two dozen or so throws he's made this year that we haven't seen a Bills quarterback make since Drew Bledsoe's first year here. The comments today about Thad Lewis' abilities relative to EJ Manuel are nothing short of idiotic IMO.
  2. I agree. I would have stayed with McCown but it's really a tough conundrum. Easy for us to say.
  3. Thanks Exiled. Actually I've been a huge EJ supporter BUT, I've also advocated considering drafting another 1st round quarterback depending on various factors. I must have at least a dozen recent posts stating that the Bills should not disqualify the idea of drafting another QB. That said, I seriously doubt that they do so.
  4. You're drunk. While Talleywhacker had a good rookie year, it was pretty much on par with EJ's except that Talleywhacker was able to stay healthy. Only difference. FWIW, Talleywhacker's rookie stats: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14876/ryan-tannehill EJ's stats: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15803/ej-manuel And I get a much stronger sense of good intangibles from EJ than Talleywhacker. If Talleywhacker had been drafted by the Bills and played how he's played so far for the fish, people here would be running him out of town.
  5. Totally agree. In spite of drafting offense in rounds 1,2, and 3 this year, the defense has more talent than the offense.
  6. Says the guy who said Bruce Irvin was a 3rd or 4th rounder.
  7. Just started re-watching the game. It's hard to imagine but Pears was unnoticeable as was the player usually across from him, Cameron Wake. Gonna look into this further.
  8. The Bears are lucky that McCown is a total team player or things would be even more dicey than they are now. I bet there are lots of people in Chicago who'd rather see Cutler on the bench. There are at least as many people who watch football and have zero comprehension about what they're watching.
  9. Talleywhacker had a good rookie year and was having a nice sophomore year. Until today. He's lucky he doesn't play in Buffalo. People here really have no perspective on young quarterbacks.
  10. The run D was much improved today although that might have to do with Miami not being a very good run team. Anyways, between the sacks and the takeaways, the defense is greatly improved. If they could shore up that leaky run D, they'd have a chance to be truly elite.
  11. I love Brandon Marshall. He's been through a great deal and since he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder he's been on his meds, spoken openly about the affliction, and has been a complete role model. If you ever see an interview with the guy, you're taken by his intelligence, charisma, and maturity. I'm a huge fan. As for Cutler, it's a good thing he got the Bears in the end zone there or I think it would have been very close to McCown time. The Bears don't need that kind of shyt storm at this point in the season.
  12. I doubt his teammates are insulted though. I bet they think of him as a big, goofy kid who has to grow up. I'm not making excuses for Dareus but again remember that he was a 20 year old rookie. Even in his 3rd season, he's young. In fact he and EJ Manuel were born 6 days apart. Fat and lazy? How do you know this? That was one of the all-time stupidest narratives this board has ever seen. We have zero idea what's going on behind the scenes but Marrone's being criticized for being a ruthless dictator. With zero evidence and in fact, lots of evidence to the contrary.
  13. I didn't see the "bad offensive line" that everyone's been bellyaching about. Clearly our O-line is better than theirs and our O-line is better than their D-line. Miami was 7th in the NFL in sacks. They got 1 sack on us. We destroyed them in the run game with excellent push on the majority of run plays. On the other side our D-line dominated, even in straight 4-man rush situations. Tannehill had no room in the pocket in which to step up. The Bills won today's game IN THE TRENCHES.
  14. Dya remember all the clowns here who used to say that Freddy was a bad short yardage back?
  15. Huge first down in this classic bad weather game. Clock and field position.
