  1. Actually you wouldn't want to string him up right at the moment. He's the QB coach of the Jets. :w00t:
  2. Well you win the prize for getting closest to another interesting facet of Kiper's mock draft: He has Cooper ranked higher than Warmack. For those without ESPN Insider (I purchased it 5 years ago and I still have it for free for some reason), Kiper has Cooper ranked as the 7th best player in this draft and Warmack as the 12th best.
  3. I can tell you the San Francisco Forty Niners wish they had better cornerbacks than they did last year.
  4. Yungmack, you're way off on this one. The one season that Spielman was healthy in 1996, he was outstanding. That year he set a team record with 206 tackles and while that's only a statistic, anyone who watched him play could appreciate what a great player he was. He only played in 8 games the following season after injuring his neck and requiring spinal surgery. As a player Spielman never hurt the Bills and the opposite is true, he was an integral part of the team until his injury. As for Roswell Park, while it's a fine cancer hospital it has consistently been ranked 40th to 50th in the United States in oncology (cancer treatment). I'm guessing the Spielmans sought treatment closer to home, in their home state of Ohio at the renowned Cleveland Clinic which has always been a Top 5 oncology hospital. You might recall the outrage when former County Executive Joel Giambra sought treatment for his throat cancer at Sloan-Kettering Hospital in NYC. Sloan-Kettering is usually ranked 2nd or 3rd best cancer hospital in the United States after the Mayo Clinic. If you had cancer, would you seek treatment at the 50th best hospital or at a Top 5 hospital? Also your slandering of Spielman (Funny how no one seems to remember the way Speilman grabbed a paycheck every week, took up a roster spot, spent his weekdays in Ohio and overall hurt the team") is a gross mischaracterization.
  5. Also Brad Smith. At his price and with their current WR depth it's easy to imagine that Smith will have a much larger role in the offense than he has his first two seasons in Buffalo.
  6. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/156870-bills-current-cap-situation-updated/page__hl__salary#entry2766132 I guess about $7 million for draft picks based on the earlier discussions.
  7. True. I was thinking of Phillips at the beginning of free agency, before we'd signed Manny Lawson. Still surprised that he's out there though. I hope the Bills can scheme a way for Anderson to get a double digit sack season.
  8. While there are aspects of the Peters Divorce that I blame on him (and I place some blame on the Bills too) what the general populace makes is totally irrelevant. As for "playing the game they supposedly love," surveys have shown that most of the players are in this for the money. The game takes a huge toll on the body and they put their physical and mental well-being at risk every time they play. Kids play football for the love of sport. Most pros are in it for the money. As to your last sentence, the second time he ruptured the achilles was in May. This is a very serious injury. The Eagles season had gone into the tank. Even from a team standpoint, why would the Eagles want to jeopardize the health of one of their biggest assets? Coming back to play would have benefitted no one.
  9. Yeah I brought him up before free agency started and don't really understand him still being available. Yes he turns 32 years old before the season starts but he's coming off an excellent season with 9.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. He didn't miss any games. It's turned into a soft market for older pass rushers with John Abraham and Dwight Freeney still out there. Freeney's been in a steady decline but Abraham still has lots of football left in him. But back to Phillips, he's played his whole career in a 3-4 and would seem to be a good fit for the Bills D.
  10. There will unfortunately always be unethical opportunists. I hope it doesn't hurt the cases of the players who actually have a legitimate claim.
  11. Snappy comeback! Meanwhile Nick Foles is battling the perception that he's not a fit in Chip Kelly's offense: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/03/foles-insists-he-can-run-chip-kellys-offense/
  12. Yep. That's what Lurker said too. Kind of a letdown. Funny reading through everyone's wild guesses.
  13. I was thinking about this discussion earlier today. It seems to me like Vince Young would be the perfect candidate to become Kaepernick's backup in San Fran. He has all the athletic gifts. He's desperate to get back into the league. If anyone could turn him around it would be Harbaugh. Seems like a perfect fit to me. I really still think you want your backup to have a similar skillset to your starter when possible. That's why it made so much sense to me when Pat White signed on to backup RG III with the Redskins and Dennis Dixon signing with Philly to backup Michael Vick.
  14. Gotcha. Thanks. Thanks Ramius. I'd like to see the video of the Florida and NC State games but they're not available. But I've seen enough to keep my convictions about him.
  15. And I don't believe he ever played with them but he signed a contract to play for Cleveland before retiring due to his neck injury.
