  1. The Bills talent is not as bad as most of the people on this forum think. Every team in the league has roster holes. However the good teams have two things: 1) Competent QBing 2) Competent Head Coaching The Bills have had neither for an eternity.
  2. Well when I first saw the topic, "trade speculation" was in the title. Not sure who did what but I think it's certainly less misleading now than it was.
  3. Again I don't see the Niners trading high draft picks for Byrd, signing him to a mega-contract, etc. when they just let Dashon Goldson walk. There are some good safeties in this draft and IMO the Niners could spend fewer picks in a trade up to get one of them… or see if one falls to them. And it would save them a ton of money.
  4. I know arm strength can be overrated in importance but I don't think I've ever seen a QB with a weaker arm than Matt Barkley with the possible exception of Chad Pennington. His arm is weaker than Matt Cassel's, Fitz', Orton's, McCoy's, anyone's. It's screamingly obvious AFAIC. All you have to do is watch the video and it jumps off the screen… and I intentionally only watched his games from 2011 when he was completely healthy and had a great season.
  5. I've been saying that the Bills wouldn't draft a LB at #8. I could have imagined them drafting a pass rushing linebacker but of the available non-pass rushing LBs, none of them are anywhere near as good as Luke Kuechly. If there was someone as good as Kuechly, I could see them drafting that player but there's no one that fits that description.
  6. He was one of the candidates based on a pool of players + process of elimination but there were not a lot of people saying "Mark my words, the Bills are gonna draft Gilmore." Gilmore got talked up just like a lot of guys but not as much as Glenn, Reiff, Martin, or even DeCastro or the Alabama linebackers.
  7. I think killing a thread is usually draconian. Obviously this wasn't a candidate for merging so you (or the OP?) made the best decision, re-writing the title so it was no longer misleading. Anyways, thanks!!!
  8. Your reasoning makes sense but IMO if the offense is designed better and the QBing is better, Stevie's numbers will go up. I recall plenty of times Fitz couldn't get the ball to him when he was open due to his throwing issues.
  9. All of this criticism about Buddy not being a good liar and giving away too much info is a bunch of bunk. Like Kelly points out here, almost no one was predicting Stephon Gilmore. As someone else suggested upthread, if you think Nix tipped his hand, feel free to point out what the Bills will do at #8. The predictions you see on this board range EVERYWHERE. That means that NO ONE knows what the Bills are gonna do.
  10. And interestingly Matt Barkley declined an invitation to the draft. That article was garbage IMO. And Manuel has more talent in one of his discarded finger nails clippings than Tebow has in his entire body.
  11. Although you always hear apocryphal anecdotes about how celebrities are a-holes, it seemed like Summerall was a pretty classy guy and while I found him a bit boring, he was really solid and definitely a major broadcasting icon of my youth. RIP Pat.
  12. Regardless of how respected you say you are over there, you seem to be having a hard time differentiating between the idea of Nix saying things before the draft versus saying things after the draft.
  13. Here's the interview: http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/audio/Buddy_Nix_Comments_on_Byrd_Kolb_and_Draft/5b9ddb59-4150-4f0a-8f5a-7af14854152a
  14. This kid needs help. Apparently he tweeted an apology to Lions fans and then deleted it. http://www.freep.com/article/20130416/SPORTS01/130416001/detroit-lions-titus-young
  15. Thanks Rich. I'm not a moderator but I occasionally play one. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/156742-mark-april-16th-on-your-calendars/
  16. According to this site, over one-half of Matt Barkley's throws travel no farther than 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage with nearly one-quarter actually being thrown behind the line of scrimmage. http://draftbreakdown.com/players/matt-barkley Based on personally watching 8 of Barkley's games, these figures seem accurate to me.
  17. Also did you ever notice that you walk on a sidewalk but you side… oh wait. That doesn't work. Never mind. Well this is the first I heard of this. Thanks. This sounds like it must be the interview: http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/audio/Buddy_Nix_Comments_on_Byrd_Kolb_and_Draft/5b9ddb59-4150-4f0a-8f5a-7af14854152a
