  1. Well this is the NFL Draft live thread… Cyprien. Still no QBs other than EJ… Any shots of Geno in the Green Room yet?
  2. I know we're talking satellite radio but anyways, I'm kind of surprised that there does not exist (that I know of) a radio DVR. I know there are podcasts, replays, etc but what about the shows which are only available live? It seems to me that such a product would find a demand on the consumer market. I know I'd buy one… and then I'd tape that show. Errrr…. record that show.
  3.  Great job Bandit!
  4. I just got home and haven't read all the topics, much less all the posts so some form of my post has already been stated. McShay clearly was irate. Anyone watching Adam Shefter knows that he knew who the Bills pick was going to be. The Bills were very successful in confusing the so-called experts. Nassib was strongly linked to the Bills as was Matt Barkley. Then two days ago it was reported widely that Tavon Austin was the top player on the Bills board and he appeared in a few mock drafts as the Bills pick. The Bills were successful in fooling the "experts" and I believe that there is resentment on McShay's part that he was misled while Shefter was given the goods. On a tangent, I believe that Shefter's trustworthiness and credibility as a well-established newspaper reporter allows teams to trust him with certain information. On the other hand, I believe that NFL front offices generally have no respect for McShay based on his complete lack of football knowledge and his annoying and empty "know-it-all" facade. Shefter's solid, smiling good-humored temperament is a result of his success and standing in his profession. McShay's spoiled kid temperament is a result of the lack of respect for his work among NFL people and informed fans.
  5. Geno Smith has to realize that Matt Barkley, Tyler Wilson, Mike Glennon, also weren't drafted. He has to realize that Ryan Nassib's former coach just drafted a different QB. Geno's showing a complete lack of perspective. A truly mature and together guy would have said something along the lines of "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in not being drafted. It would have been an honor to be the first QB taken or to have been a first round draft pick but things happen for a reason. EJ was drafted and I congratulate him. I'm standing here with a bunch of other great quarterbacks who haven't been drafted yet either so we all have to accept that and make the best of the situation. I know guys like Aaron Rodgers and Brady Quinn have been through this so it's not all about me. Tomorrow my dream of becoming an NFL player will come true and I know this will work out for the best."
  6. And Nix didn't trade for John Skelton. He really has no clue.
  7. You don't seem to understand that QBs are weighted differently than other players. And speaking of your lack of understanding, why do you think Manuel accepted an invitation to attend the draft? Why do you think Matt Barkley declined his invitation? Take your time. I know this could be confusing for you.
  8. The Bills traded 8 (1400 points) and 71 (235 points) and received 16 (1000 points), 46 (440 points), 78 (200 points), and 222 (3 points). The math: The Bills traded away 1635 points and received 1643 points for a net +8 points. A pretty much "by the books" trade.
  9. http://profootballta...back-on-friday/ At a time when quarterback Geno Smith has faced harsh criticism regarding his ability to handle adversity,Smith isn’t handling adversity well. Specifically, the game that is the NFL draft isn’t going the way he expected, so Smith plans to take his bat and ball and go home. Smith told ESPN’s Suzy Kolber after Thursday night’s opening round that he won’t be backon Friday for rounds two and three. If Smith doesn’t return, he’ll be confirming in the minds of many that he can’t show grit and resolve under pressure. That he’ll sink his head and slump his shoulders when the team is 14 points behind in the third quarter. That he’ll pout if he’s not the starter or if he gets benched. That he’ll complain about the use of too many running plays when he prefers to air it out. At a time when multiple other quarterbacks remain on the board, Smith needs to stand tall in the face of disappointment and show up for Friday’s festivities. Only 32 players have been picked, including only one quarterback. And if Smith thinks he has it bad, at least Smith didn’t have to experience his college coach Dana Holgorsen take an NFL head-coaching job (Marrone-Nassib), trade down from No. 8 to No. 16, and then select E.J. Manuel.
  10. To your first sentence, Patrick Peterson is a great DB. What did he do to affect the fortunes of the Cardinals. I'll answer that for you. Nothing. No quarterback = no success To your second sentence, your sentence is the "gross reach." Care to explain that only two quarterbacks accepted the invitation to the draft? What would you say about Manuel's comments that he was confident he'd go in the first round and that the Bills, Browns, and Eagles all loved him? You have zero clue if he would have been there in the second round and in fact, you're probably very wrong about that.
  11. Is there a more useless draft parasite than Todd McShay? I don't think so.
  12. Carradine's a stud. I'm a bit surprised Werner went before him. I think Carradine is gonna be one of the great players from this draft.
  13. Was that the last server crash here? Could this then reverse the curse?
  14. He's been on ignore for a while now. With posters like him I'm always reminded of source-sink dynamics. Some people add value and others reduce value. Put differently, some people make this board better. Others make it worse.
  15. Here's some video of the Quicken Loans All-Star Football Challenge: EJ won this competition over Mike Glennon, Ryan Nassib, and Jordan Rodgers (Aaron's younger brother).
  16. Minter is a London Fletcher clone. I really love the kid, more than Te'o. But I'd prefer to go with WR/TE at 41 and 46.
  17. The accuracy rap is complete nonsense. 1) Although completion percentage doesn't necessarily prove accuracy, EJ's career completion percentage is very high, 66.9% in spite of the fact that his career yards per attempt is quite high at 8.6 ypa. To complete a high percentage of passes while throwing the ball farther downfield than most QBs would seem to refute any questions about his accuracy. 2) In addition, the Sports Science segment on EJ mentioned that on passes thrown 10 yards or more downfield, his completion percentage was within 2% of Andrew Luck's. 3) In the Sports Science segment, EJ scored higher on the accuracy tests than any other tested QB and his combined metrics were in the neighborhood of Big Ben and Kaepernick's 4) In the Quicken Loan Skills competition, Manuel blew away the competition (Ryan Nassib, Mike Glennon, and Jordan Rodgers in the accuracy part of the competition. He also won that competition overall. 5) I've watched about 8 games of videos (all plays where he threw or ran the ball, certainly over 200 passes) and the guy throws a beautiful and accurate ball. Whatever shortcomings EJ may have, accuracy is not one of them.
  18. I put him on ignore after I got home from work today. Wasn't in the mood for being continually annoyed.
  19. Server crashed for several hours. As I told mrags, it was like celebrating Christmas in solitary confinement.
