  1. Not to mention all the Canadian chicks on Chippewa. For that amount of money I hope he got screwed more than that. On the other hand he didn't get her pregnant as far as we know so on the grand scale…. I sold my house on Bryant Street in 2002 for $111,000 but the taxes on it were more than the taxes on my San Jose house which cost about 5 times as much.
  2. So what I get from this thread is that EJ's receivers have a great chance to develop into excellent player but EJ doesn't.
  3. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. You'll notice I didn't say Kiko was a physical player because ultimately in spite of playing fast and hard, he's not really a "take-on" linebacker. A lot if not most linebackers (and I think this also depends on what techniques they're getting coached) fill hard and sacrifice their body to get into their fit and stalemate the blocker. Kiko definitely doesn't do this as like you said, he'll go through and around people. Again that could be how he was coached. Lavonte David who I think is excellent played a similar game in college using speed and guile to get to the ball carrier ahead of the blocking. When you look at photos of him it's clear he needs to fill out and get bigger and I think that's a given that will happen. I think you'll see him play a bit more stout and in control as a pro as he fills out and his play is polished up a bit. But what a nice LBing talent for Pettine to mold. This kid is amazing in space.
  4. Head Coach and Quarterback. That's most of the battle just in those two spots.
  5. Oh. So Nix has definitively failed? Last I checked he was still the decision maker on the team and judgement of his tenure is far from complete. This again harkens back to your lack of fairness and balance. Who hired Marrone? And I've been here a lot longer than iommi and I can speak to your tendencies.
  6. Brady and Manning? Certainly not in college which is what we're evaluating right now. How clutch was Manning in college? As usual JC, I find your comments to be backed by knowledge but not fair and balanced. You act like a developing young player is never going to evolve beyond what you've already seen of him.
  7. Kiko appears to have good football intelligence. He's also a very fiery and passionate player. I can see him being the leader of this defense just as he was on Oregon's defense. Here are 6 condensed games of his from the 2012 season: http://draftbreakdown.com/players/kiko-alonso So far I've watched all but the USC game. In watching him, I've been trying to figure out who he reminds me of and it finally struck me last night. Kiko was measured at the combine at exactly 6'3" and 238 pounds. http://footballsfuture.com/2013/combine/olb.html At his pro day he ran a pair of 40s timed at 4.74 which isn't tremendously fast but isn't slow either. By comparison Paul Posluszny ran his 40 in 4.70 although Poz definitely played slower than his timed speed and Kiko definitely plays faster than his. Poz also weighed 238 pounds at the combine but was an inch shorter than Kiko and you can see that they have very different builds. In spite of only a slight difference in their measurables, Kiko is a longer, rangier player. Poz has the appearance of being shorter and squatter. Shane Conlan like Kiko measured at 6'3" and 235 pounds and ran a 4.7 forty. He had the big neck like Poz but the long, rangy build like Kiko. Conlan had long, skinny legs and despite his ordinary forty time, played faster than his timed speed like Kiko does. I find Kiko and Conlan to be very similar players. Watching the Kiko videos it looks like he's very instinctive and also that he has good vision. Some linebackers lose track of where the ball is but that never seems to be the case with Kiko. Like Conlan he plays "in forward" and is very aggressive but his overall movement skills are excellent and he moves sideways and backwards equally well. He flips his hips well and is outstanding in coverage. Kiko also has excellent hands. This kid could have been a tight end. Kiko will be the Bills passing downs linebacker. Mark these words. He will start from day one. He also has long arms and active hands and does not get wired to blockers very easily. He stays clean compared to most linebackers but also appears to stack and shed well. In spite of his seemingly reckless and forward style Kiko is more of a wrap tackler than he is an impact tackler. He's pretty sure handed and gets the ballcarrier on the ground even when it's not a direct hit. Once in awhile he takes a bad pursuit angle but that's the same with all linebackers. In Kiko's case I think he was coached to use an inside-out leverage so in spite of his fast playing speed, his errors usually happen when he loses outside containment (can't get outside fast enough). This doesn't happen very often though. As with Conlan, my main concern with Kiko is his reckless playing style. He throws his body around a lot, going airborne numerous times a game. It looks to me like similar to Conlan, that Kiko will be injury-prone and have a short career. Just a guess. But make no mistake, this guy is an outstanding football player.
  8. As you know, this is an opinion and an assumption. No one can read the future. The Bills have a conviction that EJ is a franchise QB. In a worst-case scenario guess what? The Bills can draft a quarterback next year.
  9. There's a new sheriff in town! Or as Lombardi once told his Packers, "You guys take care of the Giants and I'll take care of Allie Sherman (Giants Head Coach)! Apparently that went over real well in the Packers locker room. Just nurture the visual of Marrone cuffing Belicheat around for a few dances and then rag dolling him into lifeless submission.
  10. You were doing good until the bolded. Catch them off guard? Nah! Beat 'em with their eyes wide open!
  11. It's a good morning laugh and so hopefully that balances things a bit. Not a bad job but there would have been a lot less "package enhancement" if it were me doing the photoshopping. Like none at all.
  12. And I don't blame you at all. At this point the discussion usually shifts to to what degree the state has subsidized pro sports venues in the Greater NYC area and the issue of fairness to all state residents, the distribution of tax burden and disbursement of tax revenues throughout the state, etc.
  13. People HAVE TO click on this link. Too freaking hilarious and no, bashing Marcia NEVER gets old.
  14. I agree and also have a lot of ambivalence as it relates to the Bills. It would be an interesting poll question to ask whether people would be good with NYS/Erie County kicking in $1 billion towards a stadium to keep the Bills in Buffalo. edit: Full disclosure is that I'd hate to see the Bills leave Buffalo and also living out here I wouldn't pay any of the economic cost of the $1 billion so I would favor government subsidy. Ultimately it's a question for New Yorkers, particularly Western New Yorkers.
  15. I think it's a bit tough but fair. Respect is earned. The Bills get no respect on Cinco de Mayo. Hopefully they'll have lots of respect on Cinco de Febrero.
  16. And completely ignoring the fact of what we got in the trade down. Classic glass half-empty thinking. The Bills got the QB they rated the best AND two other players and yet that's not good enough for some people.
  17. That is some delicious Kool-Aid right there! Two things I found interesting. Buddy said that the Bills had Robert Woods and Justin Hunter neck and neck but that they had Woods a bit higher because he was more "pro-ready." Of course we have no way of knowing if that was true and one would expect Nix to say that. Marrone compared Goodwin to Tavon Austin.
  18. There's also the possibility that any number of teams would have drafted back into the first round to take him. Exactly. Why get cute and miss out on your top rated QB by a wide margin?
  19. I don't think most fans are as gullible as you say they are. I think more likely, people tend to take the optimistic view, especially when it's their favorite sports team of which they are heavily invested emotionally. No one is force feeding the Kool-Aid. It is being consumed voluntarily.
  20. Levitre's a good player but in what way is he an "elite" player?
  21. Thanks for posting. About the author, Rob Rang: http://www.cbssports.com/columns/writers/rang/bio
  22. Well I'll join Hopeful in welcoming you to the board. It'll be interesting to find out exactly how you became a Bills fan. But all in your own time.
