  1. Stylistically very similar the way they get in and out of their breaks. Woods however has a very characteristic "hunched over" running style where he bends at the waist more than most players. I like it because it keeps him low and I think helps him with his cuts. On the other hand such a style probably doesn't promote the straight line top end speed. Danke.
  2. Well at least they got the EJ Manuel part right. It wouldn't have been surprising for them to place Ryan Nassib on the Bills roster the way things are going in the media.
  3. To the bolded I think it's more a case of the strong need to increase the talent and competition level at that position. May the best man (men) win. Agreed. Chan didn't really seem that motivated to develop talent. Possibly he and his staff placed a greater premium on being able to avoid mental errors?
  4. You're making several points here but there seems to be a bit more rage than reason. The Washington Liquored Up Looters? Two wongs don't make a white?
  5. Regardless the root or secondary causes, veteran players in the 7+ years experience range do seem to be viewed more unfavorably than ever before by NFL teams. Sometimes the sequence of events is almost unbelievable. Last June John Abraham signed a 3-year, $17 million contract with the Falcons and less than a year later he was released, after leading the team in sacks with 10. I'm not quite sure what's going on here but there's definitely something affecting the market. I think part of it is the flatness of the cap due to the new CBA.
  6. Is this true? I have a hard time believing this. How about state, county, and federal governments? Kaleida? UB?
  7. By any measure objective or subjective, EJ is a very accurate thrower. The "experts" who criticize his accuracy have zero basis in fact for that opinion. It was an uninformed view that was parroted by people who form their opinions by reading the work of lazy analysts. This has been hashed out for weeks here. Where have you guys been? Watch the videos. Look at the stats. Look at the advanced stats. EJ is extremely accurate.
  8. It sounded like Da'Rick said that the Bills were his only visit.
  9. I think we might see Duke singling up on TEs a lot.
  10. Perhaps you should be nominated for a Chuck Lester Award?
  11. And this is maybe the most important point. While we all may guess differently about cap casualties, the Bills don't appear to be in a position where they are forced to unload veteran contracts. If a veteran can justify his pay, he will stay. While the Analytics Department has not and may not actually be implemented, the Bills are using analytics in the area of payroll so there will be a lot of value judgements made on the journey to 53 players.
  12. Yeah in light of the personnel moves so far by the new regime, I was very surprised when they re-signed Choice. I could see a scenario where all of the players mentioned by Joel B are retained by the Bills. I disagree with Joel B in that I think the most likely casualties are TJax and possibly Lindell if the kid kicker shows he's up to the job. If the kid is equal to Lindell, the Bills will go with the savings. I still believe that Brad Smith and Erik Pears are safe. So basically Joel B's most likely cuts are my most safe. I could see Mark Anderson being a surprise cut, less of a surprise if he doesn't pass a physical or if they think he's not 100% fit.
  13. There's also no reason that programs need rely upon free agent veterans in order to have success. We'll be starting last year's 4th rounder and this year's 2nd rounder at ILB.
  14. I like how you guys handled this. Do you answer non-football questions also? For instance, I was wondering on what date Memorial Day falls this year?
  15. Thanks for posting that. I assumed that surgery had been done but it's nice to get confirmation.
  16. As I predicted. The money gulf was too big. The Bills were hoping for a bargain signing and as we've seen, the new regime are very disciplined with payroll. We'll see when the contract numbers come out but I doubt the Bills were offering more than $2 million, tops. The Bills never made a serious attempt to retain Levitre and I think they're gonna play hardball with Byrd. There was a soundbite within the last few days where Dansby didn't even mention the Bills as a possibility. He played 6 years in Arizona. It's a homecoming. There are no state income taxes in Arizona. It was a pipe dream and I couldn't care less. The Kiko Alonso era has started in Buffalo. Forward young soldiers.
  17. Cap casualties is probably a good subject for a new thread. I could see a scenario where all of those players are retained by the Bills.
  18. Agree Dan. Also I don't think it affected the market for Byrd too much but it certainly didn't help him that this was one of the better safety drafts in years. I have a feeling the Bills are gonna dig in on this one and not budge too much. Just my gut.
