  1. Actually numerous people here agree with your opinion. Not everyone believes that all North American professional athletes are "spoiled" and "entitled." I think many people recognize the special downsides inherent in NFL football that differentiate it from the other major pro sports.
  2. However, you're wrong. http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/65051/why-bills-drafted-ej-manuel-in-first-round He can throw the football vertically down the field Manuel improved his completion percentage on passes of 20 yards or longer in his junior and senior seasons. In 2012, Manuel completed 49.2 percent of his passes of 20 yards or longer, the highest completion percentage of any of Scouts Inc.’s top six quarterback prospects. He’s accurate Manuel completed more than two-thirds of the passes he threw in his career. In his last three seasons, 81 percent of his passes were on target (passes that were not overthrown, underthrown or wide of his receiver), comparable numbers to Smith (83.4) and Barkley (80.3). Stats are sometimes misleading but these are advanced stats. Just his basic stats show otherwise…. how is it that a guy who has a lifetime completion average of 67% and a yards per attempt of a whopping 8.6 yards be inaccurate as a downfield thrower? Answer: He can't. Your sample size was too small.
  3. The last white cornerback I remember is Jason Sehorn. I could be forgetting someone though.
  4. You miss the point that public opinion is most often led by media speculation and not inside information. And secondly you insist on saying that Kelly was "the hottest prospect by a wide margin" but you have no proof of this. And as for your straw man point about the draft vs free agency, are you saying that if the Bills didn't draft EJ Manuel that he would have gone after Barkley and Nassib who were taken in the 4th round? The media is often wrong. Moving to another of your points, Oregon tried retaining Kelly because they're a major program and can compete with NFL teams. Syracuse knew that they couldn't compete with the NFL job offers.
  5. That probably increases the chance of Sanchez staying one more season, contrary to earlier rumors that he was a goner.
  6. Absolutely. And as a football player, Dunn was smaller than CJ but he had tons of touches in his NFL career AND had a long career. I personally don't believe we should burden CJ with more than 15-17 touches per game which is what Warrick Dunn did. He is the ONE smaller finesse back who stood up to a fairly heavy workload. Dunn was 5'9" 190 pounds and played 12 seasons. He played in 181 games and had 3199 total touches which averages to 17.6 touches per game. That would be funny if midway through CJs interview he left and Freddy jumped in.
  7. If we took Mario Williams AND Stephon Gilmore out at the same time, it would really confuse the defense. You have to admit that. And confusing the opponent is a key to victory.
  8. "1 decade the fifth time and so forth?" Also, I believe the proper term is "leaf people." Funny stuff btw.
  9. Uh we've been worried about EJ's running style and Da'Rick Rogers' quiet first two days of rookie camp. There's plenty to worry about…. I haven't been sleeping…. Yep. Immediately get Choice and McKelvin out of that mix for sure. Until we know otherwise, McKelvin is a starting cornerback. Choice is maybe a "blocking return man." Oh geez. Did I mention I'm having a hard time sleeping?
  10. Is it possible Ozzie told him to go get his life straightened out and then they would talk later? He's only 23 years old.
  11. You are the man. Very much appreciated and never taken for granted.
  12. What was I thinking? I wasn't…. :wallbash: :wallbash:
  13.  Cue the "man, I have a hard time understanding that guy" when the video of his one-on-one with Chris Brown comes out.
  14. Let's cut to the chase here. At what point do they throw stupid money at Kevin Bacon?
  15. If Sylvester is struggling for content, that's his own fault. Part of this radio market is Southern Ontario where there are very hard core hockey fans. How many players have played for the Sabres and Leafs? Coaches? How many retired referees and trainers who make the banquet circuit that have very funny insights and anecdotes? The list of possible interesting guests is virtually unlimited. Has Sylvester ever had Rick Vaive (who played for and was captain of both the Sabres and the Leafs) on as a guest? How many interesting guests could he have with nothing but a few well-placed phone calls? A large part of the problem with some of these guys is laziness. Make 6 phone calls a day. Leave open invitations. Make follow up calls. Brainstorm guests. If he runs out of guests or subjects, he's simply not trying hard enough.
  16. And wasn't he in "Men in Tights?" So basically the Dolphins threw big money at Peter Pan?
  17. To your first sentence, Whaley's main claim to fame FOR YOU, is the email. Just like for some, Corey McIntyre's "main claim to fame" was exposing himself… except that he never did. You see, it's what YOU as an individual choose to focus on. Constantly being a negative troll (look at your own post history this is a fact, not any name-calling), you choose to focus on the email but IF THAT WAS his main claim to fame, do you think he'd be getting hired as AN NFL GENERAL MANAGER??? So clearly you're not seeing what others are seeing. As to your second sentence, no Whaley was not "Pro Personnel Director." He was "Pro Personnel Coordinator." The reason is because the Steelers use the title "coordinator" instead of "director." http://www.steelers.com/team/front-office.html So your second sentence is a hair-splitting technicality and not in any way part of an HONEST conversation.
  18. Titus Young burned the bridge down in spectacular fashion. This one was more of a controlled burn. Kind of a whimper.
  19. Yeah Mario Williams still seems somewhat perplexed talking about the new defense…. just as he did 2 weeks ago. That's a bit disturbing. Maybe it's just a hard defense to describe. That's what I'm hoping.
  20. They spent tons of money in free agency trying to make a big marketing splash to get a stadium referendum on the ballot. They were betrayed by one of the big politicos down there and ended up spending millions in lobbying money (not to mention player payroll) in that failed attempt. Football-wise I'm not really crazy about the moves Miami made in free agency. They don't have the all important "ring of shrewdness." Big money for Dannell Ellerbe, Mike Wallace, Brandon Gibson and Dustin Keller? I'm not seeing the return on investment UNLESS Tannehill proves to be the real deal. It wouldn't surprise me if the Fish did a Jets-style flameout.
