  1. Look at all those aspens. Is there a gully down there that the bears use as a path?
  2. Not to be lazy but do you have a link? Also if you have any info as to what injury he's planning to have, I'd appreciate it.
  3. Yeah Wood started his career at guard in 2009 and didn't become a full time center until 2011. However he made that one start at center against Cleveland late in the 2010 season as I recall.
  4. Isn't there a child's game called London Bills? Also, please edit Topic Title.
  5. If you recall his first two years in the league, you'll remember that Wood was a mediocre guard but an excellent center. When Hangartner got injured, Wood got his first career start at center and dominated the Browns outstanding nose tackle, Ahtyba Rubin. It was clear then that Wood's combination of strength and short-area quickness was a better fit at center where he's 2-3 feet closer to the opponent and the line of scrimmage than are the guards.
  6. ^^^^^^^^^^^ I think that thinking like this really misses the point. IMO, you ask questions like: "If Deacon Jones had the diet, exercise, and medical expertise that players nowadays have and played during the time of Bruce Smith, would he have been as good as Bruce Smith?" or "If Bruce Smith played back then when diet, exercise, and medical expertise were relatively undeveloped, would he have been as good as Deacon Jones?" My theory is for the most part, the greats back then would be just as great today because they had the talent, intelligence, and work ethic to be great in their era. IMO there's no reason to believe that they would be worse in a modern context. If Babe Ruth was cloned and brought into the world on the same day that Barry Bonds or Mark McGwire was and was encouraged to play baseball, I would still fully expect Ruth clone to be one of the greatest players in baseball.
  7. I was wondering about this. Has Wood announced in what week he plans on getting injured this year?
  8. ^^^^^^^^ I don't believe that Brad Smith has had any work at all at QB. I believe the new coaching staff will allow him to compete exclusively as a wide receiver.
  9. Spiller gets winded too easily. Therefore my advice to you guys (especially if any of you play in the BFFL or the NYFFL) is to wait till at least the 3rd round to draft him.
  10. In the great KC Chiefs-Oakland Raiders rivalry, it was HOF Len Dawson against Lamonica. Two very different types of quarterbacks, similar to the contrast between Bart Starr and Norm Van Brocklin. So many great players have played this sport. It's a bit of shame that history remembers so few. Glad for the HOVG.
  11. True. There's a great sense of relief in knowing that we've found another source of anxiety.
  12. Pretty tacky move by Chip Kelly, asking Williams to pay his respects before the service so he can attend a team meeting. Kelly could definitely succeed in the NFL and Marrone could definitely fail. However some significant factors regarding the two: 1) Kelly had decided to stay at Oregon until word of NCAA investigations started getting hot and heavy. He then changed course back towards the NFL. 2) I'd be very wary of a guy who has ZERO NFL experience. Such is the case with Chip Kelly. 3) Marrone on the other hand has spent 9 seasons in the NFL as a player and coach. He then went back to the college ranks to get head coaching experience. Marrone is as ready to be an NFL head coach as anyone.
  13. He's on Cleveland's roster right now so I can wish him well in both life and football.
  14. ^^^^^^^^ Agreed. It's not important enough to me to go searching. In a perfect world, attendance is perfect.
  15. I remember reading that the Bills had lined up a front 3 of Branch, Dareus, and Carrington at one of the workouts.
  16. Update: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/06/05/bears-to-workout-trent-edwards-jordan-palmer-along-with-jamarcus-russell/ According to Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears will also workout former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Trent Edwards and former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Jordan Palmer. The Bears’ interest in the trio appears to be just due diligence in having a list of players ready to call upon in case an injury were to arise. The team seems fairly set at quarterback with Josh McCown andMatt Blanchard behind starter Jay Cutler.
  17. How many points do you think they'll score this year?
  18. I hear he's been having issues with his knee. I wonder if the Titans are getting fed up with him and might consider a trade.
