  1. He'll be competing for snaps with Mark Anderson, Jerry Hughes, Manny Lawson, and Arthur Moats.
  2. http://footballsfuture.com/2012/combine/de.html Decent measurables although he has short arms which is surprising because he uses his hands well based on the OP's highlight package. Based on that same video, Blatnick's got some nice push-pull pass rush moves and a strong inside counter. As a run defender he seems to understand leverages and holds the point very well and seems like a smart and instinctive player who always knows where the ball is. Of course these are highlights so we haven't seen the not-so-good plays. According to the piece in BB.com yesterday, Blatnick describes himself as "a technique player" although he appears to also be a decent athlete. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/DE-Jamie-Blatnick-campaigning-for-roster-spot/2653e13f-d1fd-42a6-bc89-b78368c3f918
  3. We can't even agree if Stevie is a "number one receiver."
  4. Why do people keep saying that Graham and Goodwin are clones of each other? I'm puzzled by this common assertion.
  5. Thanks Nanker. How is it that the greatest comeback in NFL history is not included?
  6. There have been numerous recent black bear sightings in WNY as they migrate north from the southern tier. There is almost certainly a small population in Southern Erie County and a juvenile black bear was hit and killed by a vehicle on the 190 near downtown a few years ago.
  7. True also. What he said is also true, whether or not he should have said it.
  8. That childhood picture of the siblings is priceless.
  9. That could get pretty bloody too! Someday soon hopefully Nanker. I wasn't aware that the bonefish had become harder to find.
  10. No there isn't but as Chandler and others have said, Bruce is correct. Bruce played in a 3-4 defense as opposed to a 4-3 so generally he was more available to double-team blocking. And there's zero doubt that Bruce's teammates on the D-line were inferior to Deacon Jones' and Reggie White's.
  11. As pointed out earlier it was an overload blitz that Losman in typical fashion, failed to account for. The one thing a QB cannot do on that play, Losman did. People's opinions on Trent Edwards can't be judged until they attempt to explain the San Diego game.
  12. Wally Bobek's? For a generation that place was Wally obek's. Anyways to the topic, I remember that Connor Byrne wrote for RF365 but after he left, it wasn't quite the same.
  13. Let me get this straight. Three years ago in his first full season as a starter, Stevie dropped a game-winning pass in week 12 of a 4-12 season. And since that time you've lost respect for him in spite of him having two more excellent seasons? The drop happened at a time when Stevie was a relative unknown in the NFL. So tell me you're kidding.
  14. I understand and agree with much of your post. Terry Allen is another guy who continued to be extraordinarily productive in spite of multiple knee surgeries. I will say that to characterize Gore as a "plowhorse" seems a bit inaccurate to me. I will buy that he's not the same player he was at Miami (nor is McGahee) but Gore has quite a bit of wiggle, burst, and speed to his game. McGahee is more of a plowhorse in the sense of being strong but fairly straight line and lacking explosion. Gore still makes people miss and he still bursts through openings after making sudden cuts. The thing with Mario Williams is that the Bills virtually kidnapped him and forced him to sign on the dotted line. This was one of those rare cases of a team refusing to take no for an answer. So I think your characterization of Mario Williams as asking or demanding a certain amount doesn't apply here. More likely he came to Buffalo intending on using the Bills as leverage and every time he said no, they simply sweetened the pot to where no other team was gonna come close. IMO Mario was not being greedy. It was the supply side, not the demand side that was driving the deal. I agree with you that there are numerous instances of demanding players whose contracts end up hurting their teams.
  15. Yeah Bennett was an outstanding all-around linebacker, definitely not a one-trick pony. However I think many people were disappointed that he didn't develop into a more multi-faceted pass rusher considering he had so much natural talent. After seeing his debut against the Broncos and watching that first season I thought for sure that he'd be a perennial double-digit sack guy. Bennett was a great player but only a good pass rusher.
  16. Perhaps if it was shorter it'd be easier to remember. For manly guys like ourselves, it's a much better word than pithy.
  17. I have a friend who's a bailiff. His nickname is "Whitey" and he works for a black judge. It always makes me smile to think about that.
  18. The funny thing about Nate is that with his size, speed, athleticism and hitting ability, there's a chance that he could have been an awesome safety. But because cornerbacks get paid more, he had no interest in making the position switch. Had he made a few Pro Bowls as a safety, there would probably be some interest in his services. A comparable athlete, Ronnie Lott was wise enough to switch to safety in 1985, his 5th year in the league. Lott ended up playing 15 seasons in the NFL.
  19. There's no one out there that really interests me that much but if they like a guy and think he could be a good addition then it makes sense to bring him in now to familiarize him with the system and increase his chances of success. Dagnabit! That works about as well as a draw bar hitch to a 3-point plough. Seriously though, remember when Hillis was on the cover of Madden and was holding out for big bucks?
