RD 3, Pick 86: RB Zach Moss, University of Utah

Beane said he was shocked that he was still on the board and was nervous because he wanted him so bad. Hmmmm you think we reached? -

I will say this as well. Beane is smart and if we had that bad of a line he would have grabbed a guy with one of the first two picks or made a bigger splash move in free agency. I truly feel we have a very good line if we shore up the right tackle spot. Josh Allen holds on to the ball longer than any QB in the NFL and that's a fact. This obviously results in more sacks and more penalties. This reminds me of when Rob Johnson was getting smashed for 7 or 8 sacks a game and everyone said our line is not good. Then Flutie comes in and the guy gets rid of the ball in a timely manner and the sack numbers go way down. I know you aren't saying we are terrible Bob but we also might be a lot better than most realize at that position. -

I think you will see the differences when they hit the field. Moss gets us those tough yards inside the 5 yard line and those 4th and 1's. I really think the homerun thing is very over blown. How many RB's go 60-70 yards to the house, happens every once in awhile. I want productivity, patience in the hole, vision, and quick feet. Speed would be an added incentive but fast top end speed really isn't needed. -

Dawkins had a great year Spain gave up ZERO sacks Morse is an above average center but mentally he is very sharp and gets the line in the right coverage's, extremely cerebral Jon held his own and played solid for us, also filled in nicely at center when needed Ford needs to make a big jump in year two, hurt us often, wouldn't be surprised to see him get beat out by Tyler Neitzke or Daryll Williams -

Devin is not even close to being the punisher this kid is and he weighs 20 more lbs than Devin. He is a great compliment. Devin runs hard and is physical but this kid will run your ass over. Buffalo will grow to love this kid, has a meaness attitude like Marshawn Lynch when he runs. You asked what does he add? and then you say he will be productive, well that's what we want someone productive. -
Jason Whitlock may be on to something..

Jewish people believe in God? lol I can show you many quotes where he talks about God. Some people will try real hard to make others look bad, funny.... I bet he threw more spirals in the NFL than you did. -

You might be right about Belichik, have no idea about his faith and no you don't have to talk about God when coaching; just because you are a Christain doesn't mean you have to bible thump but it will show in the way you treat people. Marv Levy was a believer but he wasn't a bible thumper. His faith did show in the way he respected and treated his staff and players. I don't think you have to be a Christian to be a good coach but I do think relationship building is huge when you want to have sustained success. You can see why players love playing for guys like Levy, Reich, Gibbs, and Dungy. -

Tim Tebow was pretty damn successful. What have you done? Lets compare it to Tim Tebow. Tim played big time college ball, big time pro ball, big time baseball, and works some with ESPN. Boy, if I had to ASK Tim Tebow I would think he would say God inspired him to be the man he is and I bet he thanks him for every accomplishment he ever achieved. IMO God and faith not only has something to do with football but he has everything to do with life. Just my 2 cents... Totally not a waste of time, good video and I appreciate you having the guts to post this Protocal69 because you know half the fans who have an issue with faith are going to bash you. -
I agree with what you said. Harrison Phillips was a big loss for us. Our LB's our too small and don't do a great job shedding blocks. Edmunds and Milano get swallowed up when lineman get on them. Star Lotulelei is under performing and he is not taking on 2 guys very often, which you can see on the All 22. Milano and Edmunds do a very good job at attacking gaps and using their instincts when they are working in space but if they get locked up they do not do a good job fighting those blocks off and that's really not a strength of theirs. Good cover guys and good mobility but they need better help up front. Oliver has been so so, nothing special to this point and only time will tell if his size becomes to much of a liability to overcome.

This is a false positive. If he was playing well throughout the game he wouldn't have to make a comeback. The Bills defense is to good and we shouldn't have to continue coming back from deficits. I'm not knocking him, love this kid in only his 2nd year and I'm glad he has steal nerves to be able to put his mistakes behind him. Just hope he continues to progress so that he is ready to start burrying some of these teams. Love the attack style offense but Dabol could help him out with a few more runs during the game.

Daboll Monday Presser
offsides#76FredSmerlas replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What he says to the public and what he says behind closed doors to his players I'm sure are 2 different things. He is being smart with his words in public because the fans don't need to know every thing that goes through his mind. He is not going to say something that sparks affect or controversy. The dumb coaches are the ones who shoot their mouth off and run their mouths like Rex Ryan. -
Scary thing is that most people who use harder drugs such as heroin always come back to the fact that they started with marijuana which led them to want to take stronger drugs. If marijuana is a gateway drug and we are in the beginning stages of it being legalized probably in many states what does this say about future drug issues in the upcoming years? Just like alcohol they are not legalizing it because of its benefits but the governments are legalizing it for the riches brought to the economy. The all mighty dollar.

Kroft injured his ankle today
offsides#76FredSmerlas replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nucci just can't get it right. He just wanted to jump on a guy and try to make him look stupid but then stupid was starring at him in the mirror. Everybody knew he meant injury prone and not what you said in comparison to Rob Johnson. -
Updates on Bills cuts
offsides#76FredSmerlas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't be a part time back and make 9 million plus... Beane said it will would have been a RB by committee even if Mcoy was on the team. Beane dodged the question when asked about whether he tried to get Mccoy to take a pay cut. I'm thinking this happened for sure, just my personal opinion. If he said no to a pay cut then Beane had no choice. -

No, it's because he caught that 1 ball -
It doesn't sound like you root for them in life when you say things like "Keep trying. I Do NOT have ANY sympathy. And I wont. " Anyways, I have heard some things you have wrote about topics in the past that I agree on but just not this one. It is obvious you have a thing for these guys making to much bank and basically this makes you not care as much about them and their health after retirement. I think they make crazy money too but if it's not them then it would only be in the pockets of the owners.
-
I'm not even specifically talking about him and what he can or cannot afford. I'm plain and simply talking about having sympathy for people who had serious injuries and are disabled. Justin Strzelzyk was a friend of mine and was a great guy. I feel horrible for happened to him. All that money he made means nothing because he is no longer with us.
-
I keep hearing you saying that you have no sympathy for these former players who have traumatic head injuries because they knew what could happen. That is about as cruel as a person can get. If a person gets in a car wreck and goes paralyzed I guess you should have no sympathy because people should know there's a chance they could be in an accident and get hurt. You either have a heart or you don't and you sure don't. You are a passionate fan and I have seen many posts by you but you don't give 2 craps about the guys on the field, "sad".

Marshawn Lynch: Wall Worthy?
offsides#76FredSmerlas replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They got rid of him because he was one mistake away from the NFL giving him a major suspension and was nothing but trouble and you think they will save a spot on the wall for him? NEVER -
Really, if it weren't for the Bills he might not be in the league anymore. He crapped the bed for the Colts and we gave him another chance. He had no recognition before he came here! All he was known for with the Colts was being a first round bust. Not sure what the hell you mean, die. This is where he breathed bro.

Ted Washington not impressed with Bills DL
offsides#76FredSmerlas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, your one of those guys! Captnnegative would be a better name for you. Harrison, Kyle and Lawson/Murphy & Lotulelei are a pretty damn solid group. Our defense as a whole is very good and it starts up front. Some people you just can't satisfy. Let me guess you want a 12 sack pro bowler and because we don't have Mr. Excitement you don't think these guys are anything special?
