  1. second fastest 40 time at the combine (4.27sec) in the past 5 - 6 years (only Chris Johnson at 4.24 was better) . 4.27 is world class speed
  2. Let it play out. He will show up in a couple weeks. No one with even half a brain passes on 7 or 8 mil. As long as the team refuses to give up the option to franchise him again next year I will be happy. Its a business and he has the most hardball agent in existence. NFL players could care less about the city they play in, unless its a really cool place by todays standards and the player wants that kind of thing.
  3. Wow, FlashGoodwin can really move. wow. EJ made a good start. Woods is feisty. CJ looks strong. We shall see. We were thinking this after Losman's first regular season game, too. But lets keep a positive view. Anytime the Bills win a game, its is cause for celebration.
  4. Carrington = Byrd's agent = gone
  5. Yep, for the past 15 years, the franchise where careers come to die, QB, coaches or otherwise. Maybe it gets back on track starting this year. This is going to be a great season. I am looking forward to some good football from some really exciting players in the NFL now (Kaepernick, Griffin, Rodgers, even Joe Flacco has a ton of game now). If CJ gets the ball 25 times a game hopefully he will be there as well. Regrettably, not much else coming out of WNY in this complete "rebuilding" year. Go get a corner, a safety and a couple O linemen next year in the draft (oh, and a tackle to replace Carrington, who has the same agent as Byrd and you can bet be leaving with him as well). Oh and a tight end as well. And did I say a RB as well (can't imagine they will offer CJ what he will want after what should be a big season from him this year as the only real offense). Its a process. Haha. Ah, its good to come back to reality and quit the blind faith path. 4 - 12. Really.
  6. Kevin Kolb .... zzzzz...... now there's a guy who will sell some tickets..... not.. he's a big Fitz, but can't cut him now. Never get anyone else up to speed in time. One stinky vet, two promising rookies, that's about right for an expansion team
  7. Fair enough. Just seeing if anyone awake this morning. Guess so. I'm in DC with NFL network, so yes, I am glad the games are on for me to see. Geez, tough bunch out there. Guess I'll need to get back to my old ways. And I was just getting into being all positive and indignant at the same time. Well, back to the dark side.....
  8. In the wake of "bye-week-gate" where the Bills are served up to 7 top tier franchises coming off of byes or thursday games, now I notice the Bills play away to the Skins and Colts in standalone pre season games (ie; no other games on at that time ) with NFL Network live coverage. Why do I get the feeling the Bills are considered by the league as "homecoming game" opponents, soft patsies used to showcase the best teams and improved their marketability? Now RGIII and Andrew Luck are to be showcased "beating up on" a crappy Bills D in front of the home crowd (cue the cheering throngs) and in front of the entire nation. All to promote the coming stars of the league. This is crap. Does anyone see a conspiracy here?
  9. Good. It's a complete restart for the team and after watching the Pats run up and down the field last night OMG, but at least it will be something fresh and new.
  10. Exactly. Property leases get bought out all the time.
  11. player for player trades happen about twice a year in the NFL... the Jerry Hughes trade was a shock , I was amazed that a team traded a player for a player straight up. That never happens.
  12. Yikes. I'm a raging optimist compared to this poster. Winning cures everything. When the you win the media suddenly shows up, when the media shows up and you keep winning players want to stay and when players want to stay you can win even more and it all snowballs. Maybe this is the year. Happened in Seattle with a college coach "just like that" last year so why not here? This year's draft class and FAs need to stay healthy and play lights out, but that has happened in the past to other teams (eg. San Fran 2 years ago).
  13. Agreed. These guys make so much $$ they can live wherever they want. WNY is fine. All things being equal, I think top free agents go elsewhere, but that is primarily due to the lack of success of the franchise itself and the resulting instability of the coaching staff. Risky from a career growth standpoint to go to a perennial loser franchise whose ownership is heartbeat to heartbeat at this point.
  14. wow. I liked him ... great story of awesome ST player becomes starter and tears it up for awhile. he can tell his kids about it. most never even get the chance he got. all good. he needs to work on health now..
  15. I wonder if Parker knows the $$ in the NFL is not with a franchise like the Bills, so he works to get his players out of the franchise as soon as possible. With one serious injury ending careers in the NFL, the players justifiably are just as much mercenaries as Parker, so the strategy is pretty much sound, don't you think? They have to make a kiiling on that second contract because in all likelihood it will be their last big payday. Loyalty is a pretty scarce commodity in the NFL I would imagine.
  16. Nope. His agent will make every effort to get him out of WNY at seasons end in one piece so he can hit the jackpot with some other team. That is how it will play out, regrettably. At his asking price, the Bills are not buying. Andy Levitre 2.0 it is. And we get Aaron Williams instead. Tough being a Bills fan. But I have made a vow of positivity and therefore: Aaron Williams for pro bowl !!
  17. Yep. We did not tank at the right time. But hey, we have Jerry Hughes.
  18. If he is healthy, he will do damage. If he is always nicked up and can't play with it, then we got real problems and maybe we move on, especially if we lose out this year and get Jadaveon Clowney
  19. Chan's offense did pretty well with the bunch formation. It works. It confuses defenses. Gets people moving in the wrong directions. It's gimmicky, but trying to play straight up football in the NFL gets you beat (see Dave Wannstadt defense)
  20. Well, maybe they will. This is kind of Russ's last chance. He has to go all- in with Marrone. Really nothing to lose. If the HC fails again, Brandon will go with him this time. and Win or lose, new ownership fires them all eventually anyway, so what the heck might as well go all - in.
  21. but using a player who has been gone for 20 years sort of says your current roster stinks
  22. Yes. I like all the new faces across the board. These Bills are completely unpredictable this year. Which will make it fun to watch and see what happens. It would be tragic to see a pile of IR injuries ruin it, but assuming that does not happen, this season will be fresh if nothing else.
  23. this is a fan board. I am officially reverting to raging fanatic mode. Assuming the team stays reasonably healthy (O line doesn't get wiped out week 3, that sort of thing) they could be very good with Spiller and Fred taking the load off EJ. Our run game will be great with that O Line and smith chandler blocking. they had it going last year when they used it. I am OK with the Kolb injury as the more reps ej gets the better. go bills
