Makes the decisions on who to cut easier for sure. A little adversity will call out the players you don't want on your team. Lets hope those bad players revealed themselves last night. This could be the best thing that has happened this preseason. Plus Manny Lawson, Kiko A. and Larry Hughes look like real ballers to me. Best LB crew we've had since mid 2000's

ahhh... Swannie House... -
Thank goodness for the rookie salary cap. At least this stuff will not happen at quite this level in the future.

Rogers after two practice games
8-8 Forever? replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They will cut Rogers and Hogan or Easley , and try to sneak Hogan or Easley onto the practice squad as teams will grab Rogers first. -
Does Goodwin make you rethink the McKelvin deal?

Byrd signed tender [update: may still want to be traded]
8-8 Forever? replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure why everyone so happy about this. Yes it's great he will be on the field, but does he really want to be on this team? Sounds to me something like we are renting him for a year. Not the way to build a franchise. He will be playing for a contract, which is good, but the guy cannot be happy being here at this moment. couldn't be. -
Redskins want new stadium
8-8 Forever? replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing to note is that anyone who has spent some time in Fedex knows it has poor sight lines other than the lower bowl. The place is enormous. Too enormous for the 20,000 folks stuck at the top who are very very far from the action. And it is difficult to get into and out of for sure. it is an awesome party place inside though if you don't plan to sit in your seat much. All kinds of bars and concessions. A better for the watching fans stadium closer-in would be a better option, but the cost would be astronomical. Fedex should have been put in Alexandria in the old rail yards on top of a new subway station where it was planned to go . It's a longer story why that did not happen, But Bills fans could not care less about this so I am done. I would much rather watch a game in the Ralph than in Fedex. No question about it. -
Your analysis seems the most reasonable to me. Go Bills. Go EJ.

Looking at Kolb's passes vs Vikings
8-8 Forever? replied to br1ju's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesn't matter. This is a rebuilding year. The team is 8 - 8 best best case anyway. Get EJ in there when he is ready physically , not before. Marrone knows that. It's not like Marrone gets fired this year if Kolbpatrick (I love that) comes out 0 - 2 this year, which he probably will. -
Redskins want new stadium
8-8 Forever? replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yep. like several posters here, I live in the DC area and say what you want about Cooke and Snyder, Cooke built Fedex with his own money, Snyder bought it along with the team, improved it with his own money and while we all love the Bills, blah blah , there is no comparison between the two franchises, from resources to facilities to leadership... and players, coaches and GMs know it. I remember talking to London Fletcher a few years ago about it... all the players the Bills let go, etc. The Bills are run like a local rugby club, scratching together whatever and whoever they can find and the Redskins are run like IBM, going and getting what and who they want. neither is necessarily a recipe for success with the injury wildcard (eg. will RGIII be the same?who knows) always out there, the franchises are in two different leagues as far as approach. -
the QB competition is over - EJ is your winner

LOL... Kolbpatrick.. that is great. but fitz was better than Kolb. Fitz had no fear and fired away. Kolb has the happy feet out there and cannot deliver the ball -
Whaley is looking 2/2 in the trade department.
8-8 Forever? replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey hey, he's just being a fan, short for "fanatic" . Get on the bandwagon. It is moving slowly , but is beginning to trundle forward just a little... been a while since those wheels were moving at all.... +1. Going to a blitz scheme made Sheppard expendable. We will give up some big plays this year for sure, but it will be the most fun defense to watch since LeBeau was here 10 years ago. I'll never forget when 3rd and 8's on defense were the most exciting plays of the game Yep. He may be going away. But in Whaley's defense, prior to the draft he had nothing at QB. and did not know for sure if he was going to get who he wanted in the draft. So let's not play Monday morning QB on this one the guy made a management decision to hedge in case the rookie QBs did not work out. Good management in my mind. $$ well spent. -
+1. Let's get on with it. Keep it simple for EJ and rely on the run game and defense, just as the Steelers did with big ben when he started out. I do not believe Ben threw 250 passes his first season.

Leslie Frazier upset at Bills coaches
8-8 Forever? replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Screw the other side. We have new players putting in a new scheme with new coaches and it needs to practiced live before the games really count. That is what the preseason is for. "Hiding" everything and then hoping it works week 1 is for teams with established coaches and schemes (like the Vikings). Good for you coach. Take all the time you need and through everything you are putting in at the opposition in the meaningless public scrimmages. Plus the fans need to see the Bills come out of game with more points than the other guys as many times as possible. -
A. player for player trades in the NFL are extremely rare. B. WR for OL trades 1 for 1 are non existent. This is not fantasy football , this is real football. The NFL is not a trading league. its all about waiting for teams to cut guys . We will get an o lineman or two in a couple weeks. O lineman are very scarce.

Well then I guess the real reason for no hard knocks is no one asked. Probably because other than we die hard Bills fans, no one else in the U.S. finds this franchise very interesting. Which is perfectly understandable after the past 15 years. Who knows, who cares. Bills will only get cred if they start winning more than they lose and quit being the laughing stock of the league. It is that simple.

In this case, it is good feeling to be dead wrong. Lets see how this all pans out going forward. No more predictions. I do not believe any of us knows what we have here. I just hope they stay healthy enough for us to see what Marrone has done with this group.
