The goal is to create confusion and get to the QB quickly. if the guys who actually rush do not get there quickly, the coverage is exposed. It is a risky defense that is designed not to defend against but to BLOW UP offenses... this is what Pettine and LeBeau and Ryan do.. If you don't like it we can go back to Wannstedt's high school defense where everyone has appropriate coverages (SS takes the TE, two corners and 3 traditional LBs and 4 lineman who do all the rushing... and get killed. ) Choose your poison.. can't have it both ways.

win the turnover battle 2-0 or 3-1 and we can win. dont' and we can't. TL is too much of a liability back there. Like him as a backup, but not ready for prime time in the wind of the Ralph in late october and november

Why Does Everyone Love Pettine So Much?8-8 Forever? replied to Storm Front's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives agreed. Win the turnover battle and you can win with TL at QB. Pettine's defense causes lots and lots of turnovers. did not happen yesterday, so they lost. pretty simple. -2 or -3 on turnovers and you lose. I love a turnover- causing, sacking defense that takes risk. You give up some big plays, but you give your offense a lot of short fields too.

Why Does Everyone Love Pettine So Much?8-8 Forever? replied to Storm Front's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives Because they get after people, plain and simple. Its how they beat Miami

Official Pre-game Thread: Week 8, Bills vs Saints8-8 Forever? replied to Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives Yes. Mario won the game last week, forcing the early pick 6 and singlehandedly handing the team the final winning points. He is the difference maker today for the Bills . He is playing at an all world level right now.

Can't Believe NFL Network8-8 Forever? replied to FredJackson4Ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives They make mistakes about the Bills b/c they do not cover the Bills , which is just fine with 95% of their viewing audience who are unsure if there is even a franchise in Buffalo. This is TV, big markets rule because thats where the advertisers sell their products. Period.

Its all about winning. you win, you are on TV, lose , everyone forgets about you.

A win is a win is a win. And they won it the way they will be winning with this coaching staff. Pressure defense, turnovers plus run the ball. Win the turnover batter 3 to 1 and run the ball for 150 yes. This is the formula. Big plays will be given up and penalties will happen, but this is what we bought into. This is not Wanny-ball. This is balls out defense for better and worse.

Bills one game out of the final WC spot8-8 Forever? replied to dubs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives Not relevant. This season is not about playoffs. Never was. Be happy they are getting healthy ;if FJ and CJ recover, we may actually get a change to see what we have in second half of the season when EJ is back

Is Stephon Gilmore an above average CB???8-8 Forever? replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives The answer is yes. We probably don't see the real guy until week 9 or when the club comes off , whichever is later. Can't play corner in the NFL with one hand. Cannot do it.

The decline of Stevie Johnson ?8-8 Forever? replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives He is still pretty young. The hammy is a constant problem though. He's one of those guys who wakes up at 29 years old and says," wow I actually have to stay in shape all year to play this game. Not doing that just cost me a third and last big contract in this league. Damn, wish id a thought of this 5 years ago......" kids.. can't do a thing with them...

New game time board practice being implemented today8-8 Forever? replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives I wondered how some guys have like 8000 posts... i understand now go bills. Go Dukie Qb. Who da thought... Thad Lewis. geez.

Been in both and the Ralph is better than Fedex. Fedex is like going to the mall. The Ralph is a basic football palace.

Defense, running game and special teams win this game, if it can be won at all. We shall see. We are in "who knows" land here again, impossible to predict the Bills from week to week this season. Simply impossible. This team is a collection of untested/unproven/somewhat broken parts. On any given Sunday it can come together based on turnovers and short fields on offense. Lets hope this is one of those weeks.

CJ Spiller health and performance thread8-8 Forever? replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives Gailey was a master at the screen game and getting Spiller the ball in space. The late season play against the Jets was masterful play design. Gailey was fired last I looked and Spiller has suffered tremendously for it. Is what it is. We lost a lot on offense when Gailey left, and Spiller has sufferred the most. No question. Gailey's entire offensive approach was more impressive most than anything out there then and now. That guy could put points up in the NFL with college players. Couldnt do much else, but that is a lot. Chan Gailey plus Dick LeBeau along with talent would be unstoppable.

Let's turn our attention to the Bengals...8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives This. Duke QB vs. NFL defense. This shouldn't go well. But hey, we thought the Ravens game was a lost cause too. Its all about turnover ratio and short fields on offense and defense. Matchups smatchups, show me the turnover ratio and average drive start winner and I'll show you the winner of the game 3 out of 4 times.

yep, if i hear the stat line of Thad Lewis' one NFL start one more time I am going to go crazy. Not a lot to talk about in Bills country right now. All pretty much woe is me stuff. Sunday cannot get here fast enough.

4th round picks are pretty worthless. what a bad situation. oh well, that's life with the Bills.
