At this point, does anyone think we keep Spiller?
8-8 Forever? replied to Big C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do. Guy's a home run hitter, like McKelvin. Might be 30 or 40 of these guys in the whole league. They drive you crazy until they hit the homer, then you love 'em, because its usually a game winning homer. -
CJ is a home run hitter. FJ is a singles and doubles man. I like the combo. They are completely different and present completely different looks to defenses. I love it. CJ haters just wait as I am sure he will be gone by next season.

I hate to be a downer but ... Robert Woods ....
8-8 Forever? replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
then don't be a downer, its called a W. forget how they did it and move on to the Pats. W. W. W. -
wrong. Grimes made all pro play to break up the same throw to Watkins in phins game. EJ laid it in there perfectly and Grimes got his hand in at the same second. fantastic play on a perfect throw. I like the move to Orton, but how soon they forget.....

Watkins getting a little gabby
8-8 Forever? replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love em already.... It was a crap question. -
yes. they missed on luck and pulled the trigger on rd1 qb too early (Manuel) to get Bridgewater, who I loved. But they were all in on EJ so there you go. same old Bills. they find a way EJ will kick around the league for a while and then be gone. Losman 2.0

Why I think Marrone should be fired...
8-8 Forever? replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was. they wanted Orton a year ago after Kolb went down. Orton got out of Dallas but Bills had to wait til August to avoid giving him starter money.. you guys always forget the business end of this stuff. They got the guy they wanted at a price they were willing to pay. Now they get to execute the QB approach they wanted to do last year. Let EJ sit behind a Vet for a year or two, work on his mechanics and learn the speed of the game. I bet they intended to do this all along. If they had gotten Orton in June, he'd have started the season. So they had to go with EJ for 4 games while Orton caught up. EJ went 2-2 so all good. Now Plan A goes into effect, a month later than they wanted. I like Waley/Marrone, they are more than will ing to shake things up. Too bad they all get fired at year end when Pegs cleans house. its all about turnovers and short fields on offense. get those, you win, don't get those and the other guy does you lose. from scrimmage, the teams in the NFL are pretty much equal, other than the few with HOF QBs or all world defenses. so its all about turnovers and injuries. turnovers lose games, injuries (if serious and numerous) lose seasons. picking games is a worthless exercise because you cannot forecast turnovers. Correct. all of this discussion is nonsense, because barring a 10+ win season (not going to happen), Pegs cleans house and we start all over again. Great , huh. Another 3 years of suckiness while yet another coaching staff puts their stuff in. -
KevinKolb 2.0. But better than Kolb. Good player. Has been good everywhere he has been. I see him being a quality QB, for how long who knows, but Bills you have to believe never wanted EJ to start day 1. Now they are executing what they wanted to do last year. All good. Still think EJ can play, but this path is OK as well. Locker room will be pumped as well. Of course, now KO will slip on a banana peel in the team room and be out for the season. This is the Bills we are talking about here..... go bills.

I know the game is two halves, blah blah, but....Just watched the first half up til 10-0 in replay... Just one bad throw that looked covered;like he actually was throwing it away .. 3 obvious , obvious drops . Also, One ball right on the money long to Williams that he should have fought harder for. TD throw to Watkins was excellent and was a throw he totally misfired on same play vs Miami . Haven't seen the 2nd half . Thought he looked really good for the part I saw and is moving better when pressured... Watt made all world play on the TD just like grimes made all world play on otherwise easy TD to Watkins in fins game. Not poor throw or decision , just all pro guys doing all pro stuff. Come on guys. This is pretty good .. They are competing hard and are right there every game... Great forcing of turnovers / take aways by DBs. Were right there to win it late.. It's all good boys... Relax and hope the injuries aren't too bad

NE vs KC game factor in EJ vs Orton start.
8-8 Forever? replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Orton's a good QB. Always has been. But the Bills are competitive. Right there in every game. Maybe going to Orton a good idea, who knows. Maybe. Having EJ put it up 44 times is insanity. -
Hypothetical question regarding QB

We'll see. Long way to go. We'll know what to do in December. -
Your 3 keys to the Bills continuing to win
8-8 Forever? replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most critical: +2 turnover ratio each game Next: EJ never throws more than 30 times; run the ball successfully Third: Play great defense; no big hitters Turnovers and the short fields they give the offense are what decide NFL games, other than complete mismatches (raiders/seahawks in Seattle, etc) Period. -
When do you think the Bills will lose their first game ?
8-8 Forever? replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
silly unnecessary thread.... ride the wave people. playing good defense, running the ball, three solid kickers/solid Special Teams (inspired choice putting CJ back there). Keeping EJ from himself. Just like Steelers did it Ben's rookie year. This is exactly the formula for staying competitive in every game. EJ with over 30 attempts means we lost the game. So my answer is: when EJ throws it 30 times: that is the first loss. write it down. -
When do I allow myself to get excited?
8-8 Forever? replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they are relatively injury free and, say 6-2 at the halfway point, then you can pump it up. Until then, who knows. A couple of key injuries/turnover filled games could turn the whole thing around in a hurry, as it did most recently in 2008. Bills are what, Plus 5 or 6 in turnovers so far this season? there's your two wins right there. that one stat. -
Power rankings thread- post them here
8-8 Forever? replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Power rankings are garbage. Pay no attention to them. Utterly meaningless to thinking fans. Wins and Losses, people, that's all that matters. -
No it did not, Sammy had it locked and Grimes made an all pro play to strip it. Pay closer attention to the details please. EJ badly missing both Woods and Sammy on easy in-route throws (Woods on 3rd down) and Sammy (a sure TD) were really bad. But EJ will get there. Footwork still an issue on the quick quick throws. He will get there.

Power Rankings are garbage. Total garbage. Turnovers and injuries determine games and seasons in the NFL. Based on what happens with those two variables, your team can go from "Altas" to "Weakling" overnight. Just keep winning, go 1 game better than .500 for the rest of the season and everyone will be on board.

2-0 says it all so far. long way to go.

Nobody picked the Bills this week
8-8 Forever? replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is what it is. Just go win. This is not a popularity contest. Power Rankings mean crap. We cannot gain respect in 1 , 2 or 10 games this year. Need to pull a KC to get some love i think. 9+ wins is a requirement. Forget the media until then. -
The Biggest week in Buffalo Bills history?
8-8 Forever? replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After giving the biggest home town discount in the history of professional sports, he's more likely to move it to Binghamton than L.A.. Like the say with money, "easy come , easy go". This guy is great for WNY, loves the area and has no business sense whatsoever. Whatever it takes. Go Bills. -
I'm a Bills fan, but the fact is Brady is a tremendous leader and player. Period. Great NFL qualities. Always trying to get better, etc etc. never satisfied. Self confident. Gotta have all that to be great in the NFL. Pray EJ becomes half of what Brady is.
