A New Stadium: Do fans actually care?
8-8 Forever? replied to BillsLux's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this. just not an issue -
Unbelievable. Redskins play late, but Fox shoves Packers/Phins down our throats. Guess Bills need to win out to get on TV

What do the Bills do for a fix at guard now?
8-8 Forever? replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
correct. the group is the group from here on out. No upgrades possible because 10 other teams have the same problems, and 2 to 3 OLine guys hurt besides. We are actually in decent shape b/c at least our OL guys are standing. -

buffalo is old school. that's all. totally old school. leave it alone. who cares what some guy from jacksonville thinks. buffalo is beer drinkin trash talkin HS educated football watchin folks. just because the rest of the league actually got beyond 1973 is besides the point. the stands are full and the team is staying, singin the same old silly song, regardless of what the other owners want-- they have no say now that the sale is over. I hope the ralph stands for another 20 years just to spite those guys. some much fun it would be... billion dollar wine soaked stadiums surrounding little old ralph wilson stadium with a bunch of 50 something high schoolers drinkin budweiser and old vienna .... i love it. let it be. totally one of a kind. the land that time forgot. some thing to be said for that. go bills.

correct. this thread is a waste of time. OLs are what they are at this point in the season. -
EJ and Spiller for Geno and a First Rounder
8-8 Forever? replied to rfk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
no one will trade a 1 or a 2 for a guy, especially a RB who is not signed and they can get as a free agent soon. so forget Spiller for a high draft choice. just forget it ..lets talk about something else this isn't fantasy football. trades never happen, especially for near - free agent RBs and never for high draft choices. he will simply will be offered a competitive contract for a shared carry RB, someone else will beat that number and he leave in FA and that will be that. simple. happens all the time. trades don't happen any more. that era ended like 20 years ago. -
What if Orton Beats the Pats?
8-8 Forever? replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
nah, its a long season. lots can happen. plus Orton would only be a part of what beats them. QB is key, but need all else as well. would be a good, important win though. this team needs to win at home IMO. build the expectation among players, fans, the whole "its our house " thing... need to get back to that ... -
What do the Bills do for a fix at guard now?
8-8 Forever? replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
no one out there. OL is done for this year. we have what we have. they'll get better. Richardson and Henderson are big raw talents. they'll figure it out after a few games. patience my son -
completely utterly agree. Bills executing strategy they wanted with Kolb last year. Just doing it this year with Kolb 2.0. EJ not bad, but not ready either. He sits and learns while KO wins 3 out of 5 games, maybe 2 out of 3 games. Plus Orton is such an ass. Love him. something like that, yes . give me rich gannon. anytime. play special teams, defense and win the turnover battle. that's how you win in the NFL with QBs other than the top 5 guys...

Welcome to our world, Texans
8-8 Forever? replied to dezertbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought Fitz was better than average . Fearless. Forced the ball a few too many times a game. but he made some big throws. was victim of circumstance (horrible defensive team).. move on. -
I think we need to get Jerry Hughes into space

I think the Russians are sending a few up to the ISS soon. Get Jerry a ticket...... -
At this point, does anyone think we keep Spiller?
8-8 Forever? replied to Big C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ouch. yes. I guess to be consistent, I have to be good with Roscoe...hmmm.... he did bring some of the same element, but CJ can take the ball 5 different ways and hit the homer. Roscoe no. -
Eric Wood fires back at Jerry Sullivan
8-8 Forever? replied to 5 Wide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, really? the crap question was sully's ? I love it... i got it that Sully plays the contrarian in everything, that is his schtick , but to go tit for tat means Orton actually got to him, stung him, tweaked his butt.. love it. KO is my guy. -
Jimbo Fisher says "I told you so..."
8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But Fisher did not say he could not develop the tools he needed. Ok, in 20/20 hindsight, he was drafted too high (we'll never if Jets would have taken him instead of Geno) but he has exceptional size, arm strength, mobility and character. He may be able to learn the rest with reps and coaching and time. We don't know yet. I still like him. We shall see. They never intended for him to start last year anyway. that was Kolb's job. But then everything changed. they are getting a re do on the strategy this year with KO. All good. Everyone relax. EJ is not going anywhere. I like this explanation . CYA for Fisher. Politics play a part in all this. -
Goodwin did not step out at the 4 yard line
8-8 Forever? replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Hate to give Marrone, et al credit for thinking that deeply about it in the span of about 5 seconds, but hey we won so the coaching must have been just that awesome -
yep. keep those stats up all year and we are probably 10-6. basically do what KC did last year. In addition the 'only' way to keep those stats going is to have roster stability (meaning low injury rate) so they both work together.... turnovers lose games. serious injury rate loses seasons. from scrimmage i believe 80-90% of NFL teams basically are equal ... the difference is relative number of offensive possessions you have (which swings on the turnover ratio ) and average drive start (swings most wildly based on the same turnover ratio stat). these are boring stats that the media doesn't focus on but short fields on offense and turnover stops on D drive everything in-game -- hence the huge coaching emphasis on ball security, blah blah.. The game win rate with a pick 6 (turnover plus drive start on other teams goal line !!) is something like 80-90% (great example of all this stuff: our KC game last year -- QB injuries led to Tuel which, while he did OK, still led to game losing pick 6 that a better QB never throws). We were the 10-20% yesterday, but you get the gist.....
-
these rankings don't mean much. the only ranking that matters is wins and losses. we have 3 of one and 2 of the other. the rest doesn't matter much in todays NFL. turnover ratio and starter games lost to injury is probably the best stat to look at there is. turn the ball over 4 times and give up less than100 rushing and you lose every time.

Flash to Marrone: Spller up the middle dosen't work
8-8 Forever? replied to rcatty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
but you have to run it. a bunch of times a game. they'll get there. Fairley and Suh are beasts. they don't play those kind of guys every week.
