Chris Hogan Played Through Torn Wrist Ligaments
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well, I sure would have liked to have Woods and Harvin out there, that's for sure. and Clay.... tough year for the hands guys this year -
Plus in order to have other events there the 8 months of the year when the weather is crap it will need a dome. Domed stadiums were invented for climates like WNY. Having said that, I don't want a new stadium at all, bc I know that is what it will be.. Plus to get a super bowl will need to have a dome

I think there is measurable upside to this group this time, though, especially on offense. offense is what wins championships now, and we have a real one brewing here for the first time in 15 years. If Rex had just gone with TT from June onward we'd be in the playoffs now... this retooling offense/team just ran out of games this year, IMO The latest Darth Sully tag (i mean trash) line: "I’m not convinced he’s the long-term answer, either, not by a long shot" "... not by a long shot..." ?! not by a long shot ?? how do you get to that last bit , Sully... I'm not convinced either, but he's a lot closer than a "long shot" . Look at the numbers, look at how the locker room responds. it's the "long shot" sniping that needs to go away. Yes, draft a QB, no question, maybe #2 or #3, if that makes everyone happy, I'd rather see Taylor go to baseball camp and learn how to slide into second base for about a week and a half.....

Putting context to Sammys last several games

wait until he has a speed guy on the other side of the lineup from him... -
yeah, went out on a limb this preseason after years of using the "8 -8 Forever" screen name (in recognition of the perpetual mediocrity of the franchise...) ... guess I was a year too early.. almost made it .. I'm actually super optimistic.. if it wasn't for Roman, Shady, TT, Karlos, Clay, Miller being added to the offense in a single season i would not be, but not sure how defenses will handle this group in 2016 with a full offseason of prep time. Get your popcorn... this is an offense driven league and now we finally have one
-
yeah so true,,, imagine being a sports beat reporter in WNY for the past 10+years... how could you not go completely to the dark side... Darth Sully; it'll take episodes 8 thru 12 to bring him back to the light

Fair enough... I simply found this one to be over the top...
-
my guess is they offer mario a restructure, he turns it down, and then is released.. we go DE #1 or 2, depending on WR availability at 1
-
the last words from his article today. the two changes are we cut Mario and have perhaps a tougher schedule next year. and he says things could get worse next year. I know this negativity thing is his tagline and his everlasting M.O. sure, the world could end next year too. but we found an effective QB, and owner spending on offensive talent across the board, a front office who can source talent and an offensive scheme that works, and this guy has to throw cold water on everything. glad I live in DC and don't have to read this stuff all year....
-
yep. you could see Roman gradually building the offense's variety and his comfort letting TT do more and more as the season progressed. Shame as this is normally done in the preseason but we were having an f ing three way QB competition from June through August last year. the challenge this year is Rex promised the moon and stars but it was going to take a year just to get everyone on the same page . this was that year.

BOLD predictions for 2016 Bills Offseason
8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hardly bold, but yes they will need to do this. TT can play in this offense no doubt. they draft a QB this year, probably 3 or 4th round, and sign TT to a 4 year deal for, say $50m... and see if they can build a QB to take over from TT in a couple years... hate to blow a draft pick on a QB again, but EJ does not inspire... -
Marquise Goodwin - Olympics focused again
8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt he is eligible for the practice squad anyone, so he would have to take a roster spot, which is ok I guess. Little guy, not sure he can hold up in the NFL. -
pretty sure we are going WR either 1 or 2 this year, can't see them going with Harvin or Goodwin, so your down to 3 guys Sammy, Woods and Hogan, which is not good enough.... Easley is a gunner forever. the other guys were just fill ins for Harvin and Goodwin.

Did we overlook these comments by Dareus?
8-8 Forever? replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that's how Belichicks been doing it all these years... seems to work for them... just guys "doing their job" in their system. in this era of unrestricted free agency, you need to be able to plug guys in on defense and still be successful, which means defenses based on big $$ mega stars probably can't work over the long haul bc you can't keep the stars together for more than a year or two... actually Rex probably has it right, as the mega stars will thin out and he will build it more like the Pats "role player" style of defense...Pats let guys go b4 they decline (think of Revis) they just plug other guys into the system. then we can spend our $$ on the offensive side of the ball where the league and the rules are so biased right now... this is one way to look at it... Rex and Whaley are just building it different than others would.. I'm good with it.. the on field communication needs to get integrated tho, as Schwartz was more of a high school "just let em go" kind of approach with no real communication. fans resonate more with that sort of 'high school' approach as its easy to understand and watch... Rex's defenses require fast communication and confuse both the fans and (hopefully) the opposition. exotic blitzs will frustrate the heck out of and will get to statue QBs like Flacco, Brady , Ben , Palmer , Foles and others we will face next year.. I am optimistic. Yeah, Rex is a blowhard, but hey, Jauron was a corpse, Williams was a pirate, Gailey was strictly an OC, and Mularkey was just in over his head... on balance, Rex will do. Hey Pegs blew it all up last year, he's to blame if anyone is... of course he saved the team as well... um.... -
Is Mario playing tomorrow or sitting?
8-8 Forever? replied to TAinLack.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah, they'll just put him out there and he will make sure he doesn't get hurt and can start his vacation healthy.. I never liked the signing years ago. was such a reach for what was such a desperate franchise at that time... will be good to see him go -

that ship sailed. move on -
and that last point is what they will have next year. 2015 is all just fallout from changes in ownership/coaching/QB/RB/WR/TE + Defensive Exotica ... when your owner dies and you replace everyone, yeah, yr 1 will be a challenge. a year of mammoth change. and they are still looking at a .500 season. give the new guys a chance and stop asking to blow it all up again. what did you expect Rex to say a year ago? that we were rebuilding and it may take some time to gel? Of course not.. geez
