Big Changes to Defense for 2016
8-8 Forever? replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the media will not allow that to happen. its their job to pull out the quotes and print them fast.. and Rex is an easy target -

Are College Offenses The Future of The NFL?
8-8 Forever? replied to john_bult's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The better question is: once Manning, Palmer, Brady and Ben are done, are athletic, mobile QBs like Smith, Newton, Wilson, Rodgers the future of the position? I say yes, because defenses attack the pocket now like never before and O Line talent is scarce and O Lines generally cannot stay healthy and coordinated for most of a season. You saw it in Bills v Patriots on Monday night. Take away McFumble, and we win that game and everyone's talking about how the QB position needs to be more mobile in the future, blah blah -
Dunne interviews 6 NFL guys about Tyrod Taylor
8-8 Forever? replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yep. his approach was great. he had both fans who are all in (wood, brunell) and skeptics (Gilbride, billick).. this is very good journalism ... Sulky take note. bank this article people .. it is must read before having any discussion on TT. What I took from it is the Bills should wait until after next season think contract; won't cost much more than if they did it now; once you give a starting QB a long term deal, he gets the "franchise QB" money, whether you do it now or 12 months from now... the status = the money. the only wild card is serious injury, but I think TT will bet on himself not getting blown up next year. You could already see him scooting out of bounds more quickly in the back half of the season... -
Took 30 years and the loss of an entire generation and the shredding of that generations family ties, but they finally did it. The goods news is they did it, the bad news is it was way too late for those of us who left in the early 80's. go bills
-
TT is a lot closer to Newton and Wilson than to RGIII in throwing accuracy long and short, patience, cool and calm... this guy is a baller. You watch. Newton sucked year 2 bc his Oline fell apart. Only the HOF guys survive when their line falls apart. Now Newton has healthy probowl guys on his OLine.. If Glenn, Incognito both are back, (a big if), and the line stays solid like it did in Carolina this year, you'll see. Mobile QB is the way of the future. Don't be surprised if Alex Smith (super athlete mobile QB and a worse thrower than TT) is in SB 50 and Manning and Brady are at home. this , esp the greg roman point... they hardly opened the damn playbook this year. " the film on TT" that all the broken, sad, negative Bills fans on this board say will be used to stop him next year is woefully incomplete, bc i'm guessing they probably ran about a 3rd of Roman's offense this year. Sure I wish TT was 6-5 and 250 like Newton, but Wilson seems to make it work pretty well for a small guy.

Aaron Williams will be Ed Reeds pupil. Pray he can come back. No more "grooming". Time to take the training wheels off and win next year.

Tyrod Taylor: PFF Breakout Player of the Year
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's life in the big city. Good problem to have. 3 years ago under f ing RW, we were 30mil under the cap and had no players. I'll take this problem over that problem any day. Cut Mario and McFumble and get ready to write some checks to guys that can play. -
worth loving. turning two #1's and a #2 into Watkins and DROTY Darby , plus Incog/Miller gets Whaley 3 more years in my book. Plus only Rex could have gotten TT and Ed Reed... if only Bills fans could see the forest for the trees. seems from this board of bruised and broken negative nellies that is asking too much

Tyrod Taylor: PFF Breakout Player of the Year
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ha ha yes indeed... this fan base is totally broken after 15 years.. they need to be replaced. lets move the team to Portland or Vegas and let fan base actually hungry for a franchise have a shot at this up and coming group. seriously. -
Ed Reed to join Bills coaching staff
8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this. that was it pretty sure that;s true of most defenses Love it. Now if Aaron Williams comes back, Gilmore is signed and McFumble is cut, all will be good on the back end -
I would go best player available BPA in all rounds. This team is closer than we think to being a 11 to 12 win team . Go BPA in each round, if its a QB, fine , take the QB. Frankly, I would lock up the team we have right now; go back out next year and go win 10+ games I think. We are at the BPA stage of development. Whaley/Rex did a great job last year bringing in 7 upgrade starters .. if we can get 2 or 3 for next year you have to like our chances..

Tyrod Taylor Confidence Meter
8-8 Forever? replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Assuming the team is reasonably healthy, next year will tell the tale on TT. Really like what he does, he is a cross between Vick and Wilson. If he learns to slide and elude the hits the way Wilson does, he will make it through 16 games and be really good I believe. Roman has handled him and the offense well. Baby steps and by year end they were really opening up the playbook. 2016 will be fun. -
I have no real view on this. Let's see what we get on the field next year and go from there, shall we? I'm more interested in whether Aaron Williams and Kyle Williams are retained and come back to near 100%. and whether Dareus is emotionally ready to go. and whether they get Gilmore signed... That stuff is worth sweating over. Rob won't do all the crazy Dareus coverage drops crap Rex told Thurman to do.. you should actually like having him in between Rex and the defensive calls..,, Bills fans are so jaded, bitter and broken. Not a shred of optimism in this group anymore. Come on guys, we finally have an offense, weapons, real NFL tools.. get positive

Coughlin or Lebeau can help Bills

when TSW posters stop bringing it up. so... stop. won't be any coaching changes for next year people, so put a sock in it please. -
+1. $8m to Skrine? wow, big miss there. At least Mario is on the field.. Cap management seems such a crapshoot to me... 31 other teams, all it takes is one to be irrational and deals go out of sight.. the key is to draft well and get starters from it (eg. Miller, Darby, Williams..). free agency as a primary means of gathering talent brings big trouble down the road. Bills need to sign their own drafted guys (Gilmore, etc) well before they hit free agency.. they know that and will do it unless the agent blocks it (eg. Jason Peters)... my view is the Bills are now seen as attractive due to new ownership, coaching and good prospects going forward other than Jets, all those teams have the approx. $20m franchise QB guy wrecking their cap ... sort of wish we had that problem

Bills fans are so bruised and beaten, the heart rules the head, and the coaching debate is the 17th game each season. -
What will get you excited for next season?
8-8 Forever? replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am already excited for next year. We have a very very competitive team now. If we were healthy, I wish we had 3 or 4 more games this season. They are all on the same page now....We would win them all. Forget Mario, we need the cash for your # 3. Rex is going to be Rex for the most part. Suck it up fans, he may change a bit, but the Ryans are loose cannons as a group. After years of Jauron and cry baby Mularky and pirate Williams and down home Chan, we got us a star. -
Blowing it up is crazy. They have many of the pieces; now they start all over again. 3 year learning curve with a young QB having to learn another system. Gosh I hope we don't do that again. Rex can be as big a blowhard as he wants, he needs to be IT for the next 4 years. Please stay the course. Draft well. Work the cap to keep key players. Be a damn NFL Franchise for pete's sake..
-
can you imagine if Pegs blows it all up again next year here? I will be done forever.
-
i guess. did not know Rex's defense was so "QB-Confusion" focussed, which is fine, but not as a steady diet on 3rd down. that surprised me and that he doesn't seem to have consulted with his players on it until very late in the season... there probably are reasons that we will never know, but that whole thing was a little strange Having the whole starting backfield disappear there during 1st half of the season cost us a game or two for sure. probably a straight up 10-6 or 9-7 team that injuried and new coached its way to 8-8.
