Von Miller played against Eric Pears Sunday, then Craig Urbik. Plus Brady is a statue, so there you go.

Bills going to the Pro Bowl
8-8 Forever? replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL Pro Bowl has become the biggest joke in professional sports.... makes the NBA All Star game look like a cage match. Why don't they just name the team, have an event like the Oscars, show a bunch of best of film , a red carpet, interviews and be done with it?? the ratings are terrible, no one watches it, it needs to go away. No one cares. Period. Watch TT tear up his knee and set us back another 3 years. -
Looks like you're all caught up, my friend. Boston is an awesome place to be, and their sports franchises are well run, professional and successful. It all works together. WNY and the Bills have been pretty much the opposite for the past 20 years, but hopefully Pegs will continue to throw $$ at it until it becomes Green Bay. Is what it is. The NFL is a big boys league. WNY is minor league. Thank goodness for RW and Pegs , or this franchise would have been gone long long ago....

" this year's disappointment is all on Rex" - nah, don't think so. If you believe Schwartz had to best scheme for these players, then it's on Pegs for not giving Marrone the commitment and contract extension that he wanted and frankly had a right to ask for from a new owner who logically would be inclined to clean house. Pegs wouldn't do it, so Marrone properly walked away before getting replaced , and of course that meant bye bye Schwartzy as well. So basically, Ralph's death set in motion the end of Schwartz and the 9 wide. When you change DC's, the scheme will be changing, as coaches know their own system, and thats what they will be running, period, whether players fit it or not. In college you can change out the players easily as you have 70-80 to choose from. In the Pros, you are stuck with the guys under contract. Rex tried to merge a little, but he should not have bothered. It's like coach K moving to Georgetown and suddenly not running the Duke 1-4 offense. Not gonna happen .. that's what the guy knows and that is what the fans and going to get. Next time, don't have a 95 year old owner and things will go a little better. Of course, he did that little thing like save the team. gotta take the good with the bad. RIP Ralph hey Belichicks personality annoys me and I'd take him any day of the week. gotta separate personal from business

NFL Live: Bills teams worst Super Bowl opponents as per Jaws
8-8 Forever? replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills were destroyed by the Redskins. that was about as one sided a game, forget a SB, I've ever seen. men vs boys. Rose Bowl Dallas SB was just turnovers -- who knows who the better team was... the other Dallas game we led at half , then ThurFumble sent that one away.... we were the better team vs. Giants, Parcells was smart to run right at 250lb Jeff Wright and it worked. still had it won, but we know what happened there.... -
Belichick coached his team out of the superbowl
8-8 Forever? replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
um, dude, relax... i'd take either one of them over what we have any day of the week -
the reason why we largely skip the FA market this year and sign Glenn and Incognito. so forget about all the threads about "we should get this guy and get that guy" .. not happening this year. Plus need to sign Gilmore and probably Bradham. Forget about most new signings, heck we need to cut Mario to even sign these 4 guys. Unless you have a top 5 QB, if your O Line goes down in today's NFL, your season is over. Over. "Next man up" is a bunch of garbage when it comes to O Line. Defensive fronts are too strong and close coordination and long communication required to handle blitz schemes. Next man up is fine for commodity positions like RB, LB, TE, DT, but lose 2 or 3 of your starting OLine and its over.

Buffalo Bills in 2020... Make 3 Predictions
8-8 Forever? replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you know the whole idea of Roman succeeding Rex is not very far fetched at all, if the offense gets even better in 2016 but Rex's defense becomes obsolete -
Unrestricted Free Agents for 2016
8-8 Forever? replied to Uffalo Ills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Outside of signing our own FAs, really don't think we're much of a player this year. spent all the outside FA $$ last year. -
we shall see. whaley has an owner willing to act. that is the big difference... RIP Ralph, but he held the franchise back on the field for 10 + years. Its all good .. off they go. a real NFL franchise... I like it all . I'd take the roster we have now and go back out and win 10 + next year. so not too many puts and takes please... WR, LB, etc. sign our guys and lets go win some games next year... this year was preseason

cool, big stadium in Hamilton... look at the bright side .. the Ralph will be the Bills home for at least 5-10 more years, IMHO. would take 3 years to figure out of new stadium, another 3 to build it minimum...

Stephon Gilmore: "I Know I’m an Elite Corner."
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its all about priorities. If you lose a corner, all is not lost. If your O Line is weak or thin and then gets hit by injuries, your season is over unless you have a top 5 QB, and we don't have one of those . I guess you try to get Gilmore signed, but maybe need to wait until a year from now.. get the UFA O-Line signed + Bradham... cut Mario. Go from there. -
Stephon Gilmore: "I Know I’m an Elite Corner."
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
well, that's why you sign him now, and I'm sure that is exactly what they are trying to do.. injuries can happen, players know that. this guy will see his second contract so he should sign 4 years now and then get another 3 or 4 years from now.. a lot depends on who his agent is... I say draft a corner in the 3rd or 4th round, let next season play out and see where we are at that time. replacing Cordy Glenn and Incognito in a run heavy offense with unknown quantity at QB is more important than replacing a corner in a gimmick defense. in the nfl you need offense to win playoff games. I say spend the dough on offense first. Rex's defense forces the ball out really fast, the corners don't have to be elite, just stick to your guy for 2.5 seconds then look for the ball.... not saying thats simple, but it is more straightforward. the safeties and LBs need to communicate like crazy, etc etc, but I believe the corners largely just need to stick to their guy for 2.5sec and their job is pretty much done. Since the NFL has twisted the rules to favor passing and screw defenses, I like Rex defense concept of pressure, pressure and confusion.. that's all the rules guys haven't outlawed (Yet) . Watch 'em force defenses to rush only 4 guys someday.. don't laugh -
assuming Cordy and Cogs are signed, if treadwell is there, gotta think he's the pick.

correct. Woods is good, but not what they need as TT will be throwing it 30 times a game next year now that 1st year proving ground is finally over. NFL is ultimately a throwing league and if you can't throw it you are not going very far. Look at the kids Seattle drafted this year and how they made a big difference. Gotta draft QB, WR, OT on the offensive side ... I'm sure they will. Who knows what round they'll come in, as they will draft DE/LB as well; depends on BPA at the time. Should be more fun this year as they are pretty loaded at many high impact positions right now. They can go out right now with today's group and win 10+ IMO.
-
silly thread. gonna be a long off season...
-
"Philosophically", unless you have a top 10 passer, you run the ball a lot. Hell, Carolina, Seattle, Arizona, KC and Vikes run it as much as we do... they turned out pretty well.... we should model ourselves on those teams ... run it , play defense like Caroline and Seattle and throw it over the top like Az. Now that's some football... that's what we were doing this year.. just ran out of games by the time they got it down... next year will be better

Potential Cap Cut/Fit: Paul Kruger DE/OLB
8-8 Forever? replied to KollegeStudnet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Plus Carrington is a good, willing fit for the 3-4 edge setting end who drops once in a while. Mario was just too cool for that role. I hope Carrington is healthy. Seeing Alan Branch and Dwan Edwards playing and playing well over the weekend made me pissed at how many of these type guys the old Ralph regime let get away. No more please. Get Wynn and Carrington signed if they are healthy and wanted. Whaley has it right.. focus on signing our own free agents, no chasing bright shiny objects this off season. Did that last year and it worked, no real need this year. Sign our guys and draft well.. that is the recipe. Boring for fans, but who cares what fans think. -
Report: Titans to squander position, hire Mularkey
8-8 Forever? replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
now that makes more sense. lame duck coach. just like Marrone was here.... -
I completely agree. A new billion dollar stadium is a colossal waste of money that can be spent on far more worthwhile needs... the Ralph is completely update-able, sits on a huge lot and is one of the best seating venues in the league.. just keep updating it.

Whew! I'm glad to see the Seahawks lose!
8-8 Forever? replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am sure Whaley regrets cutting Fred now.. but he didn't know the Williams' were going to be out for the year and leave a big hole in the locker room. but a good move for the longer term... Gillislee, Karlos and Shady are a great trio, huge, youthful improvement over Fred, Bryce Brown and Boobie
