  1. no matter who the backup is, if Clay goes down, that is a major problem and major dropoff to whoever is the #2. Pray the guy makes it through 14 or 15 games. Can't have guys like this missing 8-9 games. Period, end of story.
  2. well, if its just players out compared to players in, then maybe... but the performance can't help but be better in 2016, barring big injuries (which pretty much ruin everything)
  3. the guy just wants to play the game. philly has moved away from him completely, so he wants out, so he can play the game somewhere. sounds reasonable to me. who wants to sit. guys finally healthy and now he's screwed, sitting behind some rookie.. he should have kept it out of the media, but his fundamental argument stands. he is out in philly, so he wants out. NFL careers are extremely limited in time, so if philly doesn't want him, maybe someone else will give him a shot. all he wants is shot to start, and he no longer has that opportunity in Philly. yeah, a contract is a contract , etc. got it. but his request is not unreasonable. doesn't mean philly will do it, but to ask for it (not thru the media) is not wrong
  4. Well, they almost have to perform better than last year on both sides. Personnel wise, they didn't get worse, that's for sure. They have certainty at QB from the start; didn't have that last year. Offense sees Roman's offense for a second year, so they have to be better on paper. Defense is 100% Rex with committed players instead of the bs hybrid **** to make f ing mario happy they ran last year. So hard not to see them being better this year. So, as always it comes down to what happens with major injuries (which ruin seasons for sure) and turnovers (which lose games no matter how well your O and D look on paper). So lets go play some games and cheer them on and see where it goes. "predicting" wins and losses is silly in May. go bills.
  5. special teams guy, that's about it, IMO. plus once he gets with the big boys he'll get hurt in all likelihood
  6. shouldn't there be some kind of TSW IQ test before posters can join? this post sort of sets a new low for lack of Bills IQ
  7. just forget about him... anyone from the ralph wilson post 2010 era I just forget about... that franchise era was poisoned by doubt and fear, and the team reflected the lame duck nature of its ownership, management and players. Its all good and RIP Ralph, but from a football standpoint, that time is at once both completely understandable and utterly forgettable..
  8. that's prob the way it works out as you can't pay both of them what they can get elsewhere.. i truly believe gilmore is gone, not for lack of trying... someone will pay him Revis $$
  9. Love this time of year. the "on paper" time of year. everyone's healthy, draft is great. go bills.
  10. cannot imagine a new stadium ; don't care what Goodell says, I don't see the Bills leaving the Ralph for a very long time... this isn't LA or Dallas, this is freakin WNY for gosh sake
  11. oh boy, I'm all excited. as Charles Davis correctly points out , if you are inaccurate in college, you ain't getting any better in the NFL... see EJ Manuel
  12. agreed. finally, the days of "bring in a czar" (donahoe, polian, others) are put to bed.. just get a super ex scout who knows what he is doing and loves scouting and finding talent... thats all you need
  13. frankly, I get to day 3 and I don't know who the hell any of these guys are... so , , you go do your job Doug and we'll see 'em in July...
  14. yep. plus Kyle probably gone after this year in Doug I trust... he's earned it
  15. knuckleheads need not apply for this defense
  16. this. reality in the NFL. If you are an accomplished starter at QB in the NFL, that is the going rate. is what it is. look what Osweiler got, and he is not what I would call an accomplished NFL QB.. its messed up, but the Billions paid for television rights is messed up as well... the players are essentially being paid by teams from their share of the TV $$ , so, the more you watch the game on TV, the more the players will get paid.. they get paid like actors in a very popular movie, and a minimally accomplished QB is considered the star of the movie.
  17. he's done.. never was much , actually
  18. who cares. one of the least interesting players in the NFL. but he sure tore up the Bills in the 4th Q last time the Rams were here.... looked like freakin Johnny Unitas for the last hour of that game
  19. take it and run... i'll take whatever we can get... go bills
  20. this is what may happen with Gilmore. If Rex's defense is so pressure scheme and confusion dependant, why do you need $20m corners... i know i know they are on an island, etc. but they only have to cover for 2 or 3 seconds before the ball is forced out by the pressure... my sense is you pay average rate for corners and overpay the smarter players and the Jerry Hughes types who can run the Rex pressure scheme... right?
  21. yep. he needs an old school , high school defense to be successful. I hope the fins run one, as most OCs will tear it up.
  22. yes. this is the way Whaley is thinking. this is "Whaley - time" . let the guy do his job. In personnel matters he has been right a lot more than he's been wrong...
  23. yes he is or will be. I don't see it happening. I really don't, especially if Darby continues to step up
  24. no way Whaley blows the cap to pay Gilmore if Darby is better than last year... CBs in Rex's system are made by the system, which forces the ball out in under 3 seconds... corners can overplay the receiver as they only have responsibility for 3 seconds or so.... "anyone" can do that
