Big Ben wants Steelers to go for 2 after every TD

totally agree with this post... we should be very good at 2 pointers... Rex is Mr. gambler on Defense, why not in this as well -
offseason work is limited due to the stupid CBA. once the season starts, no more time for teaching the basics and changing players approach... its all recovery and prep for the next opponent... teams with new coaching staffs are screwed bc not much time exists to get new schemes put it. anyone familiar with this knows last year was going to be tough and it would take another off season to get everyone on the same page... heck , TT was allowed to use about 1/3 of the playbook. they just don't get nearly the practice time they once got . and all you haters want Rex to be fired and start this new coach/schemes merry go round all over again? crazy talk.

John Murphy Show Moving to Noon

can you imaging blowing it all up and starting over? insane. here's hoping for 10-6 or better and Rexy stays. the alternative (back to 4-12, TT gone, no ownership of the roster) is too hard to think about.... -
Yes. He is a top 5 back in the NFL. Game breaker. Great receiver as well. Can do it all, including pass block with the best. Guy's an absolute stud. Knucklehead off the field, but who cares? Half of the NFL players are knuckleheads. Injuries are a concern, but that's a generic concern with all high salary cap players, plus Denver's bet with Manning seemed to work out OK in the end...... really a no brainer question.

Gilmore hints at training camp holdout
8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
can't imagine he is staying if we pay TT $15m+, not enough $$ to go around. he will be a cap casualty IMO. if Rex's defense works the way it is supposed to, don't need pro bowl CBs, just guys who can cover for 2-3 seconds .... bc the ball is coming out fast. I don't like the way this one is shaping up. If both TT and Gilmore perform at high level AND Whaley can get them both signed, then Whaley has to be GM of the Year, or whatever they call it, because we'd have a max dollar edge rusher, max dollar DL, plus top dollar LT, QB, TE, RB and CB. Not sure any other team has that all at the same time without the rest of the team being bunch of losers, which we are not. Is there a salary cap-ologist in the house to straighten this out for me? -

the Wilder, JWilliams and Gillislee pickups looking better and better. more kudos to Whaley. He did not stand pat at RB .... he keeps adding talent. never know what you will find out at training camp -
Fitz calls his shot -Update Signed w/Jets
8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
$12m for an experienced starter who knows the system for one year is about right. Jets can go with Geno's low rookie cap number and take the risk that he sucks or pay $12m for a reliable starter. They'll pay is my guess. Would be the same thing if we, say, still had Cassel and EJ... pay Cassel starter money or roll the dice with EJ. Yikes , that is a scary decision. Yet that seems to be the decision the Jets have to make. Another reason Rex brought value to the Bills. No Rex, no TT in all likelihood. And we'd be in the same spot as the Jets (and the 49ers for that matter). So all you Rex haters, gotta recognize the bad and the good he brought. -
No matter what this season will be a success.

Hopefully the playoffs , the other "success" is not success. it is failure by any measure and will spawn even more failure when the start all over again -
Marquise Goodwin Listed on SI's 50 Fittest List
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes. need him to spread the field. very important. listenbee might me that guy as well, but we need both of them as one of them will certainly get hurt, and without Harvin we would then have no one in that role -
sigh... the "pre-madonna" thing is just precious.

Ryan's Defense: DL-men in Coverage
8-8 Forever? replied to Ronin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yep, the initial post was straight out of the nineties.... can we just see how they do with a year of experience with it and Kyle and Aaron back? All of this is what happens when you blow it all up and start over again. You get a year of suck as the new schemes sink in. Heck, with the new CBA, a team barely gets to work on a brand new system before the season starts. Stop blowing the thing up and you'll probably get results. Of course, this is the Bills we are talking about..... -

Seantral AWOL since end of season (not really)
8-8 Forever? replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
whatever , who cares? If he can play , he'll show it on the field very soon. if he can't he will be gone. this is the NFL, if you can play , you will play, if you cannot, you are replaced.... gosh the offseason is slow -
Why did Lawson have surgery before signing a contract?
8-8 Forever? replied to Ennjay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I guess that's what happens when you are "big boned" and eat sleep and drink coaching. Probably a good sign. A buffed out coach isn't spending enough time in the film room.... -

Why did Lawson have surgery before signing a contract?
8-8 Forever? replied to Ennjay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
to me they all honestly thought he would be good to go for this year, so no rush on Lawson's part to sign. I believe there was no deception on either side. he simply "did" something to it in OTAs which set it off unfortunately, which accelerated the surgery. this is football, guys get hurt all the time. as Whaley said , the human mind loves the game and loves to play it and watch it. but by no means is the human body designed in any way shape or form to handle the hits and twists and impacts it deals out. not by a long shot. this is a far less concerning version of Willis McGahee.... tremendous talent/damaged goods you get to pick at 19 when he should have gone top 5 or 10. He's a huge bargain... plus , this is the Bills we are talking about here (making this somewhat inevitable... -

Bills' 2016 Organized Team Activities - Week 3

wow, if they sign Gilmore AND TT has a good to great year and they have to franchise him, a bunch of guys will be getting released next year -
If Shaq was really hurt at draft time and had been covering it up, why didn't he sign a contract before mini camp started? Once he got in camp, even mini camp, the true extent of the problem he was hiding could show up in drills. Now he is screwed, because he won't get nearly the contract he wants. It will have all kinds of if ands and buts in it. Now yes, Whaley could have passed him up just as other teams did, but I just find it interesting that if Shaq was really hurt ( and the Bills failed to find out how bad it really was), why did he risk it all by not signing quickly, before drills started? I am thinking this is just a bad break , that the thing he'd been playing with for years was going to be OK a while longer just popped up now unexpectedly. Kind of like Sammy's foot, sh-t happens. After all , this is the Bills we are talking about. We shall see. Whaley is a gambler, he took a gamble on Shaq. He may have to wait a year to see if it pans out (kind of like Sammy.. that worked out just fine). Whaley's track record is very solid so far, he gets the benefit of the doubt in my book.
