the reality is we shot the TE budget on Clay. He goes down, that's about it.

Kaepernick and the National Anthem

guaranteed contracts allow this crap to happen... he has no downside. if he is run out of the league , he runs all the way to the bank. you don't see free agents being d-cks like this -
another great reason for an 18 game regular season... so these types of threads never happen as the season has started
-
heck he was a star last year.. go bills

At some point, is someone in the FO accountable?

Whaley has done a great job. Finally have some talented depth. I've never been a fan of the "next man up" mantra, but this year it might just work. -
tough group on this board... 16 years of suck will do that I guess. sorry , but I am jazzed when all 7-8 picks are getting solid looks and look like NFL players already. Shaq is money in the bank, and RR was with the 1's after 2 weeks of camp. So we should bag the "they're injured" garbage. that has little impact on this discussion... sure we need to see them, blah blah, but they are likely $$ and we have them for 4-5 years. picks 3 and 6 will be on the field week 1 for crying out loud and look like they could be real contributors by y/e . 4 shows well for a 20 yr old and will be your #2 QB next year, ahead of EJ who will be gone. just sayin' .. flame all you want, but Whaley and team know what they are doing from FA to draft IMHO. and Rex gets all the credit for getting TT. but again, 16 years of suck will send most to the exits, I get it (including me... ) gosh I am in the "optimistic" stage of the year or what.. .. help me more flaming please to bring me back to the "we'll get em next year" phase
-
not sure what's going on with Listenbee, but could this been Whaley's first no cut draft? 1-5 all look like starters now or soon material. and the two 6's will make either the team or practice squad (due only to injury) it seems.

Are we sleeping on this team?
8-8 Forever? replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we are all in wait and see mode. no other way to look at it. been burned too many times. but yes, the talent and now the familiarity with scheme seems to be there. and Whaley has built a deeper roster as well, as it seems that the injuries to Rags and Shaq won't hurt much. but so what? if they go 2-3 out of the gate. I'm a fan, but only a DVR fan right now. -
Marcell Dareus entering rehab

must be just a little more than that... this kid has had one hell of a life so far, I'll be amazed if this is all that's necessary to clear his head -
he'll come back with the Pats and shred us

I doubt this is the way it will stay..

Well, we shall see. On the downside, just more reasons for the media to show every freakin cowboys game in primetime again...

Tank 2016 for Greg Roman - HC
8-8 Forever? replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
didn't mean actually "Sabres" tank so much, really was wondering if this is real silver lining in all this Dareus, Ragland, Lawson(s) mess... I mean Offense is king in the NFL, Roman is strong, Rex D is unneccesary at best and destructive at worst. Hey Rex can be honestly thanked for bringing the franchise TT and Greg Roman... it all kind of works for me in, yes, a kind of way ah , hell they'll prob go 4-0 with a bunch of guys whaley brings in and all will be good -
Roman as HC would be a great transition for the franchise. Here's to tanking 2016 for Greg Roman, Head Coach !! hell anyone can coach the defense, in today's NFL, defense is for losers. offense is for winners! The Pegs (and I, because I believe its valuable) get their continuity on offense and in general, and we get rid of Rex and his f-t bro. What say you? Is this the silver lining for what looks like a tire fire of a season?
-
you know, (B) would not be a bad result... good thinking WWIP.. i like that angle a great deal. Roman as HC would be a great transition for the franchise. The Pegs get their continuity, and we get rid of Rex and his fat bro.

fast start? Glad my nfl Sunday ticket is free this year. To pay even a dime to see these guys would frost me this year. No matter what they do something always seems to break down. Might be playing a bit more golf than expected on Sundays this fall....

wow, this season gonna be over fast this year...

Cardale body language/ pocket presence very Jim Kelly??
8-8 Forever? replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yep. but this is the Bills. the "experts" spend about 15 minutes per week analyzing the situation with this franchise. its more fun and more fans are more interested in what is happening with the the Giants (zzzzzz.....) or the Dolphins (double zzzzz....) or the Cowboys. Heck, Ryan Fitzpatrick gets way more press than Russell Wilson, how is that possible : Seattle vs. NYC. -

I'm always amazed at how fans don't get the fact that most coaches have "their" systems and preferred ways of doing things and even preferred coaches they want to work with. so when regime change occurs at the pro and especially the college level, it can take years (and a lot of losing usually) to flush out the players recruited (or in the pros, signed to huge long term contracts) for the old system and get players suited to the new system. Cardale is an example in college , Mario Williams a good example in the pros. this is why fans need to think hard before jumping up and down looking to fire coaches in the first 3 or 4 years. It takes that long to match players to the new system. Add injuries to those new players at key (coach on the field)positions (QB, Safety, MLB) and things take even longer. Plus the CBA severely limits practice time that is key to implementing the new coaches approaches. Plus assistants may jump ship for head coach gigs along the way, retarding progress as well. We live in an era where you sign a coach and you are pretty much stuck with him for probably 5 years at a minimum before you can judge him. -

If guys keep going down like they do on this team, it's more like a restored car that then gets run through the garage door on its way to the street. every year. every stinking year this happens. how do you build a team when half a dozen of its important players are in self destruct mode before the first preseason game? yeah the train horn is really bad. makes the franchise look bad on TV too. the fans know what to do on 3rd and 8, geez this isn't Jax.. win a few games and the place will get louder. oh wait, a half dozen starters are out with injuries... well..... better keep the train horn...
