We are going to so get rolled on Sunday...
8-8 Forever? replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not watching. will record and watch if win, delete if lose. simple as that. this should be ugly, as should the Seahawks away game on Monday night. how bad is that going to be... ? omg . total embarrassment on MNF national f ing TV.. again. just need to shut er down until after the bye. -
this is a good point. forgot about this . yes.

My approach is simple and born of 16 years of suck: Home games: record them and begin playback about 40 minutes after the game has actually started. Do something else until 1:40pm (mow the lawn, fix this, fix that). Don't look at scores. Begin watching at 1:40pm, fast forwarding through the commercials (and halftime BS) gets you pretty much into the second half (where commercials are fewer in number). Ride it out from there. For away games or home games where the likelihood of loss is high (like this Sunday), record the game, go enjoy something else for the afternoon (no watching football). Check the score at 4pm , if win, grab a beer(s) watch the replay in 60 minutes by blowing through the commercials and worthless halftime crap.. If lose, delete the game, not worth the angst after 16 years of suck. Someday when they become a playoff calibre team, go back to normal viewing . Pretty unusual approach, but it works for me. The combination of watching crappy Bills play combined with 1000 commercial breaks has driven me to this.

agreed. say goodbye to Gilmore. won't be here next year. cannot imagine it happening

Disappointing day, but after careful consideration...
8-8 Forever? replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah they were more than fine for 3 quarters... fine line between W's and L's in the NFL unless you have a GOAT-type QB or you're team is completely healthy and talented and the other guys are beat up and/or on the road. no Shady means no time of possession... can't lose that guy and Sammy at the same time...the dropoff is just too great right now... hope he'll be OK for the Pats -
Marquise Goodwin and Aaron William Update Thread
8-8 Forever? replied to Bills Fan888's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Assuming Dareus is back, that will help a great deal. They appear to be handling him very well. Get Douzable out of there and get a 300lb er back in. Kyle, Dareus and Shaq would be interesting, with 55 and 57 on the outside, 53 and 52 inside. That's a front 7 right there. Might happen. If all healthy, with dolph and douz backing up, you have a run/pass defense that can be very successful. The pieces are there. The problem is Brady will quick throw 50 times against that 7. We're gonna be 4-4 going to Seattle, that is a lock, but the D looks good for the second half of the season, assuming AWilliams is not out for the year. Give me a healthy Shady and this D, and we should be fine. -
I wish they would have treated Shady just like him, sit him until the hammy is 101%. Can't play pro football with a bad hamstring. more useful on the bench. is what it is.
-
yep. turnovers cost you games. a slew of IR types injuries cost you seasons. Lets see about AWilliams, Goodwin and Shady. Lose those three guys for multiple weeks and we're maybe 5 -5 after ten games. Gotta get healthy to make a late season run against a softer schedule.... Need Shady and Sammy for the last 6 games. We shall see. May have screwed the pooch playing Shady yesterday...

Bills vs. Dolphins Postgame
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I knew enough not to watch this obvious trap game live (and had a great day getting home repair work done then hanging out at a beautiful winery in 65deg sunshine), and yes, it appears dolphins are not such a "terrible team". Just like us, they made some changes and got off the mark. Heck, without Robey's pick 6 off a weaker-than-Tanny QB in the Rams game and 49ers stupidly going on 4th down in a tight away game, those games are very close down to the end too. The NFL is week to week, people. Whoever shows up the biggest usually wins. Records don't usually matter much. Looks like they showed up an we did not match there intensity for 60 minutes. Oh... one exception to the "week to week" rule... you lose to the Pats no matter what you do. 4 - 4 , here we come. Looks like another day in the countryside for me next Sunday... -
Just win baby. the talking heads will come around. First you suck bc your don't win, then when you win you didn't win enough, then when you win enough the wins aren't against the right teams, then when you beat the right teams, you don't win in the playoffs, then when you win those, you don't win the SB, then when you win the SB you don't repeat... blah blah blah. you're watching too much NFL coverage. focus on the game right in front of you and now what the talking heads say
-
of course. Gilmore goes away. Use his $$ elsewhere. Seymour steps up. a no brainer really. Gilmore is not an impact player. CB is not an impact position in the Rex defense anyway. Front 7 scheming and getting the right front 7 to work the schemes is what makes the Rex defense go.. CBs just pick up the pieces the front 7 leave for them, which Ideally aren't many.....
-
just sit shady and play MikeG... the guy can play. hamstrings are not to be trifled with... they hold Dareus back but play Shady? dumb... come on Rex

The Bills #1 WR is a guy the Fish just cut
8-8 Forever? replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They'll be OK. O Line is healthy and rockin. that's the key. I for one believe most RBs are fairly interchangeable. O Line makes the run happen. The Run makes the passing game work, don't need Jerry Rice for this to work. + play great defense, which they will. go bills -
nah, no shiny expensive toys at WR next year. salary cap will be pretty tied up next year as they need to sign Watkins as well.

The trade deadline is in 13 days.

It's over. Nothing is happening. This roster is what it is pretty much for the duration now, barring a slew of injuries, or some desperate team trading us 1st or 2nd rounders for someone like Gilmore (would do that tomorrow) . Good news is, if your front seven and five aren't hurt by now, they are in football shape and up to game speed and are far less likely to get hurt for the rest of the season. Would love to the see the data on that, but that is my sense. You don't see the IR type injuries later in the season like you do in the front end of the season. Bodes well for the Bills. We shall see. -
This is why the way TT extends pass plays is better than how Ben does it. He hangs in the pocket taking hit after hit, TT escapes to the open space and stays clean. Same outcome (longer time to find someone open) but less chance of injury. Of course, the minute I say this, TT will get blown up this week....

I'm just waiting for the press release that Sammy is "coming back in a month". -
He's not, that's why they'll let him walk. write it down. this one is easy. Seymour will replace him.

Dolphins lose best defender not named Suh
8-8 Forever? replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just win. This game will be tougher than you think. Both the Rams and 49er games were tight well into the second half. Couple of breaks the wrong way and we lose either of them. Final score never really tells the story. Every game stands on its own. They just beat down a Steelers team everyone thinks is better than the Bills. They obviously were doing things well. 200yd plus rusher, Tanny looks good. They have weapons. Looks like a trap game to me. -
Come Back Even Stronger: Reggie Ragland's Recovery
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OBD will have an interesting decision to make. Pay Zach Brown (he's only on a 1 year low $$ deal) or let him go and put Ragland there. Another reason to let Gilmore walk and put the cap dollars to work elsewhere. Interesting decision for Whaley and crew to make at year end. -
this is historically where they lose to a lesser team, get a couple key IR injuries and the whole thing goes to crap. Let's see what happens on Sunday in Miami and go from there people.
