  1. hmm. wow. interesting. issue is, can he improve on his weaknesses... let's see how he does with some home cookin' last 4 games and go from there. dont' judge until its time to judge.. that would be January.. see ya then bitc-es
  2. If,if, if the jury is still out on TT at season end the Bills can simply decline the option, which ends the contract, then compete with Jets, et al for his services. THAT would be fun to watch, as if his upside is still unclear will anyone else be paying him what the Bills are on the hook for if they did pick up the option? It's a risky game of chicken , but hey, no way they end up with a bill bigger than the one they face now, could they? If all works out well, Bills get him back at less cost than the current deal, even if they like him and want him back. That may be how this baby works out. If it all goes to sh-t , then they draft another QB and go with EJ and CJ. Could be worse. I think.
  3. 1. throw out the 4 years where Flacco got every single rep with the actual Ravens offense with TT running the Ravens scout team. running scout teams is just garbage time and adds nothing to QB learning important skills . everyone knows it. so forget that. So yes he learned how to pack for 8 road games... terrific experience there. 2. and the rules we have today favoring the passing game (5 yard chuck limits, O Line not having to line up on the ball, etc) have been in place since 1994 champ, so forget the comparison to Mannings being 'absurd'. I am assuming TT is still developing his abilities, plus this is simply not a pass oriented offense, which limits his reps in the passing game. I may be proven wrong, but it is too early to tell. I totally agree, if after 4 more games TT isn't better on passing downs and the team goes 2-2 or 1-3, OBD has a serious $$$ issue to deal with. Is it the offense? Is throwing to f ing Walter Powell a limitation? 27Mil is a big f ing number. Tough one when the alternative is starting all over again with a rookie or going retread Romo at $20+ mil plus a no.2 or 3 draft pick to get him. Tough one, yes 3. "both Peyton and Eli were better in their second season starting than TT could ever hope to be" - just your opinion-- go look at the data, they weren't. Already been a thread on this. You should pay better attention. You seem like the typical fair weather Bills fan, lets continue this on Monday. If they win, all is forgiven, right? if they lose, its "off with their heads". Love this board. They play 16 games guys, not 12. Let's pick this up in January when all the info is in.
  4. well said. 16 games people, not 12. I wish they'd have lost to the Raiders 24-17 and never been ahead the whole game. The Bills fan base really sucks -- so burned out and bitter after 12 games. Stop watching NFL network video of the best plays/players in the league. they are rare. if they showed the sh-t with the great, you'd be saying "hey, we're OK after all"... dumb fans.
  5. all i want from the press is the wednesday/thursday player injury update. everything else I can figure out myself.
  6. at least. the kid can play. let him grow. he looks just like a 1st year QB with outstanding skills. hesitating.. playing within his current limits. very natural. go look at the Mannings in their first 30 games. they sucked. great post. Hoodie is the model for handling the media. Love his pressers. He is running the show. f them all.
  7. unbelievable... funny I was driving along the Potomac last week past Fort Marcy Park where bubba clinton's good buddy vince foster shot himself in the head in 1993.. wonder why he did that... no one every figured that one out... hmmm the media is half the problem. not their job to be fanboys, but that presser and the line of questioning only reduced this kid's chances of playing well on Sunday. thanks a lot 8th grade 3rd tier market B Lo media. good job of cutting the 1st year true starter kid down. perfect. did it ever occur to you media morons that reflecting 8th grade noisy fan angst lowers your professional standards to their lever of knee jerk idiocy? . Sure , help run the guy out of town. TT will just cash in somewhere else and we are left with who knows what next year and we "start all over again". this market deserves what they get from the Bills - nothing.
  8. Schwartz would be fine. Lets see how the last 4 games go and go from there. They play 16 games, not 12.
  9. He'll be fine out there. Nice athlete. Good pick. will do well with Rex D or more standard D. So all good. Looking forward to seeing Reggie Ragland as well. Listenbee as well. Be nice to see if the draft was any good this year. They all got hurt. Seymour missed half the season, Shaq missed half the season. Ragland, Listenbee all year. Ridiculous.
  10. at least you know its only December, thats a start. now, what is 1 +1?
  11. will be Darby and Seymour next year at corner, which will be fine. the Rex defense is based on quick pressure from front 6 forcing the ball out fast... that part seems a little off lately, exposing the corners.. Safety position is less of the concern talent wise as the ball is supposed to be coming out too quickly and inaccurately, this is how the defense works. if front 6 pressure is effective and ball comes out, safeties are probably one of the least important pieces of the defense. you may hate the scheme , (and that's ok, if it fails fire the coaches not the secondary) but they have the players to play it now...that scheme made Ed Reed and Revis what they were -- balls coming out early and off target..Revis and Reed made so many easy picks.. its really zone blitz in design, you guys are all in love Dick Lebeau right? well, Rex y poo's D does pretty much the same thing... get em in 3rd and 8 and bring quick unexpected pressure ... if offenses have figured out how to protect against the big pressure scheme, that's a huge problem.... fix the pressure problem first. that is the heart of what Rex does. that's where Rags and Shaq come in. I'm good with it. They drafted to the scheme... the pressure is more important than the coverage.. only need to hold up for a couple seconds if the scheme works.... if the scheme fails, rip out the coaches, not the secondary players. they are left on islands with the rules stacked against them.
  12. atta boy. they lost the one game everyone on this board said they could and would lose, and everyone is jumping ship, what a bunch of whiners. now they can reasonably win out , go 6-1 after the bye and away we go. This Sunday a much more important and winnable game than last Sunday. this is setting up perfectly. In July, everyone looked at the schedule and said they win a bunch at home in December.... this is their time. Just win Sunday and the mojo is back. Who cares how they win. Just find a way. Lose Sunday and, yeah, I get it, its over for this year....that's why they play the games. go bills. one more chance for glory. This is the NFL, means "not for long". Perceptions of a team are "not for long" (see: MInn. Vikings, Carson Wentz) ; every week is truly a new week in this crazy league with injuries, bad and good breaks, etc. Need the home cookin' 12th man needs to stand up and be heard this Sunday, not stand around and b-tch that TT is no good, etc. This is where Rex needs to hold this team together for a big push... lets see if the staff can get this team moving
  13. Thanks for the post and the link. All of these guys will either be 1. resigned by their teams bc they are good or 2. won't deliver more wins than TT . So the main reason to go after one of these leftovers is to save $$$. Not sure that's a good reason. Just go with EJ and Cardale Jones if you want to save $$. My sense if we keep TT due to no other options other than the draft. Otherwise, you are starting over. I don't see Pegs blowing it up if they go 9-7 or better.
  14. If AJ Green plays that game, not sure Bills win that game in all seriousness.
  15. as the Hoodie says, " you are what your record says you are"
  16. Success. No doubt. 6 - 1 after the bye? Are you kidding? Solid progress and validates the schemes. Marks TT as a winner after only his first season as the clear starter. Won all the games they should have and a couple they shouldn't , with one of the heaviest injury loads in the league concentrated at the position the pass-happy NFL rules favor the most. Anyone who thinks 10-6 isn't success in today's super balanced NFL needs to get their head examined. Haters gonna hate no matter what, so Rex haters will hate 10-6, 16-0 or 0-16. They just want Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. League doesn't work that way anymore.
  17. hmmm.... sure. I'd be OK with that. The Rex D is being run on big time. The O sees the lightweight guys standing and then just run at the weaker side
  18. lose a game everyone forecasted to be a loss two months ago and its... "abandon ship!". football monday always a treat at TSW. So far my strategy of mainly recording away games and watching only wins is working. only way to do it with this team. episodes 5 and 6 of HBO's "WestWorld" were pretty awesome ... . much better than the post 24-9 piece of Bills game. If figured it couldn't get any better than it was at 24-9 so I bailed out and went and did something productive (like go get food with the wife and then watch WW ) good choice. clear head today. looking forward. will sit through the next home games, hell or high water - well, maybe . go bills
  19. go 4-0 and you have a decent chance of getting in. why not 4-0? We've been waiting for the easier part of the schedule and here it is after the bye. Raiders game was the only "probably lose " game. and they had Raiders 24-9 on the road down a bunch of guys... we are 2-1 after the bye with 4 winnable games to finish out. chin up people. no reason why they won't to the same to the Stillers and actually close the deal. win and we're both 7-6. Phins choking now and now get a now-good Cardinals team who need a win. We could all three be 7-6 a week from now pretty reasonably. KC gets Raiders Thursday. chin up people. its a 16 game season. bunch o monday a.m. babies. go bills. 16 games.
  20. how do you figure that? go 4-0 and you have a decent chance of getting in. why not 4-0? We've been waiting for the easier part of the schedule and here it is after the bye. Raiders game was the only "probably lose " game. and they had Raiders 24-9 on the road down a bunch of guys... we are 2-1 after the bye with 4 winnable games to finish out. chin up people. no reason why they won't to the same to the Stillers and actually close the deal. win and we're both 7-6. Phins choking and now get a now-good Cardinals team who need a win. We could all three be 7-6 a week from now pretty reasonably. KC gets Raiders Thursday. chin up people. time for some home cookin'
  21. I think they can win out. This team is built to win in December weather, IMO. Our small-ball "Navy" offense beats today's "throw-it-all-over-the-place" NFL offense in wet 28 deg and 20 mph wind. You'll see. 16 game season people, not 12. Snow baby snow.
  22. Yep. We are in the big fat gooey middle of the NFL. Not bottom 10, not elite 8. Squished in with the other 14. Boy they have a tough decision on TT. He does a lot very well and for long stretches. A unique talent.. but so was Vick. The rules are stacked in favor of the passing game. It seems you have to threaten the defense by throwing it accurately 30+ times per game, 'cause everyone else is and no one's backend is tight enough to hold up with the PI and holding rules the way they are. You're playing teams that can score in 3 minutes or cause all kinds of PI and def holding calls, and it takes you 10 minutes to score , you will probably be 8 - 8 forever. Let's see how they do with some home cookin' the rest of the way. Going 1-2 in west coast games is about par for the course in the NFL unless you have a GOAT. Going 6-1 after the bye will be good enough for me, even if they don't make the playoffs. 16 game season folks, not 12. They are what they are, lets get some guys back and get after it for 4 games.
  23. Well, they are beating the teams they should beat and losing to the teams they should lose to, with a couple exceptions in each direction. So in theory, they should finish 9-7 or 10-6, just about what everyone thought at the beginning of the season. pretty good season. not good enough, but pretty good. A Lynn gets to put his offense in next year and improve the pass game. Watkins, LIstenbee, Woods et al come back and we have a team. Keep TT bc there are no other options, unless you sink a year into EJ or Romo or someone and develop CJ (which by the way I am ok with). and draft a QB to add to the mix. Usual drill. Not sure what else to say.
  24. this team just finds a way to handicap itself on a weekly basis.. good for him, but geez, could this team be more snake bit.. looking more and more like we'll be cashing this season it at 7 30pm today.. all the "17 and counting" talk will start today
  25. no one on this board really cares. lets just get a win and get out of there
