  1. +1. more like "farm team to the NFL". Wait til they grab Sammy for a bargain price for next year.
  2. neither did Peters. neither did Lynch... Their agents got them out of dodge b4 their careers were ruined by staying with this franchise. this is the actual story.. most high talent guys simply do not want to be in WNY when they can be in far more interesting, successful places, get pro bowl visibility and personal endorsement brand equity boost, for more money... . and they have been proven correct. Who wants to play 1pm every stinkin' Sunday in front of the smallest NFL audiences... the money is irrelevant..if they're good, they'll get their $$, they want to choose where and their agents work diligently to give them choices. WNY is just not a popular spot for marketable rock star athletes. For the Kyle Williams, Fitzy family types, the "local rugby club" Bills environment is great, but most young rock star NFL guys are not in that stage of life. Unless the Bills draft incredibly well year after year and trap that talent in B Lo for 4 years, they're going nowhere. Without a top 10 QB they're going nowhere no matter what, but that's a different topic.
  3. they screwed up the tank by not getting McDavid.. he was the big prize
  4. you're assuming Sammy is still here in a couple years. unlikely. So Davis is the pick.
  5. well said. Bills are in no mans land, not contenders nor rebuilding to contend. no mans land. basically he's saying we suck. at least Cleveland admits they're in full rebuild mode. Bills playing a game with mirrors.
  6. When you hire a newby, all they know is what they know. as I've said all along... 3 more years of suck. Roster redo follows coaching re do. Takes at least 3 years to get the roster/scheme fit right if all goes well and the coach isn't fired after year 2. And with Lal gone, so is Sammy. Put that into your calculus. A Lynn was to only choice that would have led to some continuity. Now its all blown up again. CBA limits practice time severely for a new staff. 3 more years of suck. Then it all starts over again. Enjoy the tailgates, that's about all you got for awhile.....
  7. no.. F the Bills, and they just did. Good move TD Mike, go win something
  8. another reason not to sign a FA contract with the Bills. disfunction everywhere.
  9. Forget disrespect, trust me the majority of NFL owners would prefer that the franchise was somewhere else in the first place. schedule is typical. Bills are designed to be, wherever possible, a team's "homecoming game" opponent meant to send the other teams fans home happy after a big win and buying more $2,000 season tickets, $M's of swag and so on (things the league can't get from the Bills' poor market demographic) . Bills are the speed bag for the NFL. A live "scout team" for the other teams.
  10. right. a top quality GM or Coach taking a job in Buffalo over comparable jobs/$$ in other franchises will impress your friends and feed your ego. Don't think so. That's why we don't get the Reids and Harbaughs of the world. It's a historical fact that the only guys taking jobs in WNY are those washed up old schoolers at the end (Jauron, Donohoe, Ryan) or very very beginning of an exec career (Whaley, Marrone, Williams, Mularkey), because B Lo is the only option they are offered. Buffalo is like a AAA baseball franchise, the minors. And they are right to take it. Better to be the "sort of" GM of the Bills or the HC than to be the "head scout" or OC of a up to date NFL franchise. Got it. But the Bills get low grade exec talent learning on the job which leads to failure after failure on the field and restart after restart. This is the reality. But , hey, at least the franchise is still there! (?). and hey, the tailgates and "gameday" experience are the best! (?). If you're looking to win, this franchise would be better off in London or San Antonio or Vegas, someplace today's rock star, ego driven, monied NFL people actually can defend to their peers. Sucky thing to say, but hey, how many top FAs do the Bills keep after their rookie deals are up? A handful. that's it. Their agents get them the H out of town, before they become Eric Moulds and get sucked into the pit of suck and are forgotten forever. Today's rock star, personal brand focussed NFL and its top talent has passed markets like Buffalo, Detroit and Cleveland by and left them to rot. And they are rotting. Sad, but true. Go Bills, for what its worth. Feed the Pats roster with your trainees.
  11. will he be discussing how many prospects the Pats will be sending down for grooming this year?
  12. but no one who "knows what the crap they are doing" is moving their family to f ing WNY to take this job for this know nothing owner. not happening. but , hey the tailgates are great, right?
  13. season long gone over by Halloween... "suck for Darnold" watch USC games all season and hope
  14. Bills as AAA farm team for rest of league ... again. Woods, Hogan, Gilmore, the list is long. Peters, Levitre, Branch. All with winners or on-the rise teams. Now TD Mike. No surprises here. The NFL should have a relegation scheme for the sh-tty franchises, like the English Premier League . You suck, you go down a level until you work your way back up to the big league.
  15. you're spending way too much time on this. go read a book or go to a movie
  16. Since they blew it up and are starting over in rebuild mode (again), might as well trade back and get as many picks as they can. Since this season is shot before it starts, go Browns on it and grab one of the three QBs next year. This is a team that needs all the rookie talent it can trap in WNY for the 4 or 5 years of a rookie contract. Free agency dribbling backup talent in the front door but flowing starter talent out the back door is a real weakness of poorly located and managed 3rd tier NFL franchises. Therefore, the draft is everything; need 8-9 picks every year. Trade back and draft well. then pray 3 or 4 rookies can start within a year or two every year. You might just scratch out a winning season every third season or so before the coaching staff / schemes/ roster gets flushed and you start all over again. The draft is key.
  17. Nah. Trading back is the best strategy, if they have someone to trade with. Draft Trubisky if he's there at 15 or 20. Maybe. I think Tru will be gone. I say wait and trade up for Darnold, Allen or Rosen next year. Next year potentially three Day 1 starters come to the NFL. Bills are in full rebuild mode now. Every top pick has to be super solid at this point. No reaching. No wishing. Repeat after me: "tank for Sam" and watch USC games all year.
  18. believe me, he ain't staying after 5 in any event. forget about Watkins after his rookie contract is up. his agent will get him outta here, a la Gilmore, Peters and all before him Bills are nothing but a AAA farm team for the rest of the league. Development team. We develop our top rookies for eventual insertion into the real franchises... it has happened too many times for it not to be a legit viewpoint. Without the draft trapping a certain amount of top talent for 4 or 5 years , the Bills wouldn't have much of a team at all
  19. hey that's my line ! how about this for a silver lining... lose TD Mike and we'll need to pass more and become a real NFL offense ... ah well, I tried
  20. poor bills fans, still hoping for the QB "savior".. sad. TT is your guy.. they ain't goin' QB in the early rounds. too much talent drain at WR and DB.
  21. for the first time , I really don't have much interest. such a broken franchise, simply cannot compete ; they are a AAA team trying to compete in the bigs; the Kelly years were a fluke; the other 45 years are the truth
  22. omg who cares? I'll start caring about the preseason when it is down to 2 games.
  23. The economic impact of Bills fans has absolutely zero effect on the NFL. I can assure you that the other 31 owners (and the players) wish the franchise was somewhere else (London, Mexico City, where the fan base would become much larger in general and therefore expand the reach of the league and expand the $$ opportunity for the other owners and increase the salary cap for the players. The Bills franchise , by its very existence in WNY, is a drag on the other owners and the players from an impact and $$ standpoint. The Raiders and Chargers move is an example of this, and their fan bases are larger than the Bills. The Packers are not comparable because, well, they're the Packers. The Bills have none of the Packer's caché. Actually quite the opposite. Hey I grew up there and in that stadium but Bills fans need to shut the F up, stop criticizing Pegs and be glad their little one horse town sitting in a tiny dark corner of a big bright NFL room, against all odds, still has a franchise in the world's richest sporting league. Maybe they can turn it into a winner, but after 50 years, ain't happened yet, so..... poor stepchild it will be. But hey, the tailgates are great, right?
