  1. Agreed. Plus, if TE plays just decent and then wants a monster contract anyway (remember, his contract is up next year), the Bills have insurance in case TE (or more likely his agent) pulls a Peters routine. I am liking this more and more... I think TE needs to be pushed. This is too easy for him, IMO.
  2. Bills have no concievable shot at beating the Titans this year...
  3. Why not Vick? Lets have some fun. This team is going nowhere this year against the schedule it is playing. Fitzpatrick is a toad. Hamden has never played in the reg season. TE gets hurt. Vick adds unique variety and excitement. He's done his time, so PETA people go away. There are no Siberian work camps.. you do your time, you get to come back to society. So lets get him and get him cheap. He can't play for 2 months anyway.
  4. yep and as soon as his rookie contract is up he's gone, and we start over again. gotta love those Bills....
  5. ah, yet another "Rebuilding" year... I guess Ralph will never sell the team while he's alive, so I guess we are just f'd until he passes... tennessee looked good. I see no way we beat Indy, Titans, Pats (2), Carolina, Miami (2) anyone who runs the ball well... this cover-2 defense with the small d-line will never stop anyone.. looks like 5-6 wins....well, at least DJ will get canned and we can get Gruden in here and get some fire under their butts again..
  6. the Bills lay yet another huge egg on national TV. no wonder everyone in the NFL considers them simply irrelevent
  7. unfortunately, Bills will be getting rocked a lot this season... Pats will crush them, unfortunately opening night on national TV (again)... and games with Indy, Titans, Saints, Falcons, Panthers will be laughable... hate to say it, but this season will be DJ's last and there is very little he can do about it...
  8. Plus that extra $$ goes to hiring the best coaches, having the best practice facilities, etc etc... all things Ralph cannot do because the team doesnt generate that extra cash..
  9. To whoever suggested complaining to Directv about the high cost of the Ticket, thanks. I called yesterday and had the ticket reduced from $270 to $120 and the SuperFan add-on reduced from $100 to zero. That's $250, which in this economy is meaningful. Go Bills.
  10. on the brink of another 7 win season. oh boy. can't wait. has anyone looked at our schedule? If not, you should. 7 wins would be a stretch.
  11. John, a team solely made up of players who WANT to be on THIS franchise (above all others) would win about 1 game. The current Bills organization and WNY is the last place the average NFL rock star player wants to be. Third tier franchises get tier 3 players. Hell, Crowell left for a crappy 1 year deal rather than stay in WNY. TO came because he had nowhere else to go.
  12. The Bills are a franchise you root for simply because they are your team. That's about it. To think this group will compete for a title ever again is folly, but you root nevertheless. It's a second tier organization in a fourth tier market, never going anywhere.. But they will field a team and compete. So that's good enough for rooting purposes. Silly rationale, I know, but its all we have.
  13. If our guys grow into solid performers/all pro almost, then they will leave in free agency because the Bills will not pay the freight (in general).. there is no "long term" with this franchise as they are in perpetual rebuilding mode.
  14. I could not agree more. I had a very similar experience. what's the old saying.. "you can never go home.." very true in this case.. WNY is horribly backwards relative the rest of the country, its more expensive than you think and the positives do not outweigh the negatives, not any more. I've made a lot of mistakes in 52 years, but moving back there is by far and away no. 1. stay away. IMO.
  15. Maybe the Bills should play in the UFL. Maybe we'd finally win something.
  16. we'll win 4 or 5 home games , optimism will reign (6-7 wins in total), the stadium will be packed for all 7 and ralph will be happy... that is the business model for the bills..
  17. top of the losers bracket, right where they belong...unless the moon and stars align for this team somehow, this is exactly where they will be.. schedule is just too tough no matter what they do..
  18. oh please.. 90% of the NFL teams are dead meat if their starting QB goes down... that's life in the NFL...
  19. Well said, Peevo. Buffalo has become the "call center" capital of the northeast. PHD candidates making $9/hr answering the telephone all day. We had a f ing PHD in our call center answering telephone, for pete's sake.. why? because all the $30/hr jobs left the area years ago. Peevo, get out while you are young. WNY is not coming back. bet on it. I left 25 yrs ago. best decision I ever made... came back for a couple years 6 yrs ago to take care of aging parents and simply could not stay... the most depressing bunch of people... so negative... just plain done... not the place I grew up in.... get out....
  20. We see these guys lashing out with these rants because the city of 80% of the city is a shitheap for crying out loud. I've spent time in Akron, and Akron is more impressive that downtown Buffalo. The whole bluecollar thing is a bunch of crap. the decent blue collar jobs and neighborhoods are largely gone. Its just a bunch of rednecks leftovers from the 70's and their kids who didn't escape the place who who can't figure out why they can't have the same lifestyle and surroundings their fathers had. But it's largely all gone. Gone. Because Buffalonians have been softened by decades of union-driven job creation that all blew up when business people figured out it made no sense to pay a guy $40/hour in salary and benefits to but a bolt in a piece of steel all day. This writer is stuck in the 70's. He says its a 9 to 5 place... barely working 9 to 5 gets you f ing fired in the real world. He is making my point exactly... who wants to run a business in a place where everyone things going 3/4 speed from 9 to 5 is good performance. This is why all the businesses are gone and are not coming back to places like Buffalo. the people are lazy but expect things to be the way they were in the 60's and 70's where the unions guaranteed them the job their daddy had. So forget the blue collar 9to5 crap, that description in the real world (like it or not) is code for "loser".
  21. guys, the franchise is moving when Ralph passes away.. no question about it... Toronto.. with maybe a game or two in the ralph for old times sake...
  22. but would you pay double what you are paying today? that would bring the bills in line with the rest of the league. the vast majority of bills fans would not, and that is the problem... Ralph knows the one thing he cannot do is overprice his product relative to his market. his biz plan is to put a consistently reasonably competitive circus show together, everyone shows up to the circus when it comes to town 7 times per year as there is absolutely nothing else to do in the middle of October/November in buffalo (all other fall sports are less than minor league). ralph just needs to control his salary costs consistent with winning 7 or 8 games per year and all is good. It works. After the nightmare of 2008, more than 50,000 seats have AGAIN been sold... Ralph Wilson is a great business guy. And he kept the team in Buff when he's had a hundred opportunities to sell it or move it.
  23. I agree that Gruden is the next coach of the bills...
  24. the day Ralph pays $5m per year for a coach will be the day pigs fly....
