  1. cost cutting move by Ralph . Can't keep those costs low enough. As I've said many times, DJ gone by game 10 , april is interim coach , and we get Gruden for next year. Start all over again. then repeat every 3 years until real ownership takes over...
  2. agreed. Bobby April will be interim HC by game 10. Gruden hired at season end. Problem is, he won't come... the guy lives in Tampa for crying out loud... Buffalo? I don't think so.
  3. who cares? so you are OK watching a perpetually bad team, just so it stays in WNY? so typical of WNY fans.. the tailgates must be awesome, because the product on the field brings shame on the entire area...
  4. by all acounts, peters has been a bust in philly so far... looks like we did the right thing... he got his $$ and now he is laying down....
  5. Guys, this team is no better than last years team. Oline worse, D line better, LBs the same. Dbs the same. WRs better, RBs worse, for at least the 1st 3 games, QB/Coaching the same. So we for sure lose to the Pats twice, Carolina, Indy and Tennesee because we are not even in their league. Split with Jets and Phins BEST case, now you're up to 7 losses vs 2 wins in 9 games. Even if we go 4 and 2 against the Saints, Falcons and the rest , its another 7-9 season. The Bills are a great second division team, but put them up against a top 15 team and it's just no good. The Bills are what they are. I intend to watch them live against bottom 15 teams and TIVO and maybe watch later (if a miracle occurs) games against top 15 teams. Until Ralph is gone, thatsthe only way to keep your sanity
  6. you have to believe Wood ends up at center, taking on all those 3-4 nose tackles
  7. The D&C is the only paper there that calls it like it is. The Bills are a bottom 15 team. Lets just face it. Until Ralph is gone, and fresh new ownership pumps cash in and also moves the franchise to where top notch coachs, GMs and players want to be, they will continue to be a bottom 15 team. Just be happy there is still a team there. The area is no longer top notch NFL material. Ralph is just running it to be cash positive and he is doing a great job of that. the team stinks, but a great great team is not Ralph's goal. If it happens he is more happy, but filling the stands and collection as much TV money as he can is all he can do.
  8. Agreed. Maybe 7-9. The silver lining is if they are 100% healthy all season. they I think they can go 9-7. That's about it. DJ is fired . and the merrygo round starts all over again. lets just hope we are there to see the 7 or 8 wins and too busy with other things to see the 8 or 9 losses, have some good times and move on.. that's how you root for the bills. don't bother with the away games against top 10 teams -- they have no shot.. why suffer through those games... but have a ball when they play tampa or jets at home or KC or teams they can beat .. that's where you want to focus your attention...
  9. Open your eyes, please. All NFL players are mercenaries. This is 2009, not 1969. Geez. This isn't high school--NFL players don't bleed the school colors. Wait until McGee passes on $6-7MILLION per year to stay with the Bills because he can get $8-9million per year by leaving. It will be a simple decision and the Bills will gladly let him go. Lots of "loyalty" on both sides will be displayed I'm sure . Out.
  10. I completely agree. The only to watch bills games, especially away games is to TIVO them and once you know how good or bad the game was (any you know half of them will be unwatchable) you watch or don't watch. Saves your Sundays for more important things.
  11. Agreed. This franchise is dead in the water until Ralph (bless his heart) has moved on to the HOF in the heavens and someone who wants to compete for the title is in charge. Until that day, its all just memories for bills fans. Look at SanDiego, look at Minnesota. they are competing for the title and spending what it takes to do that.. it may all blow up in their faces if injuries, etc occur, but at least they are making the effort. The bills are just happy to be a franchise, a Club, a group of guys making a living in the football business...
  12. Unless something changes in a hurry, we are going to have serious problems running the ball this year. This O line is probably the weakest in recent memory on run blocking.
  13. Bobby April, who will be the HC by game 10
  14. Without Lynch's rushing, TE will be on his back all night, so who cares who's guarding TO and Evans? Bills TV watching strategy for this year: TIVO but do not watch the away games as 3 out of 4 will be embarrasing blowouts. Watch the home games and remember the good times at the games in years past and cheer the few wins against teams even crappier than the Bills.
  15. Agreed! April will be in by game 10. No top tier coach will want to live there. Their wives will shoot them. Remember the Bobby Ross debacle 20 years ago. He was the man until his wife refused to come to WNY. He went to SanDiego instead. Tough choice. The top guys can go where they want. Shanahan, Cowher, et al have plenty of dough. Plus, they want to compete for the title. Everyone knows the Bills are on life support financially and cannot/will not pay to freight to compete at a high level.
  16. All of them. I like this approach to coping with this upcoming nightmare game. Lets bet on which Pats have the best game against the "punching bag" Bills. I'll TIVO it, see how it comes out, then decide whether to delete it or watch it. Going to be ugly and embarrasing. I'm going to the Tampa game.. at least we have a shot to win that game.
  17. I am a die hard Bills fans from way back, however the reality is that despite our never ending "hope", we are going to get killed in front of a massive National TV audience for the umpteenth time. This will be embarrasing (again). Buffalo and the Bills will sink to a new low (if that's possible) in the minds of the media and every NFL fan, further cementing the fact that both are simply irrelevant today. Shame on the NFL for setting up a "homecoming" game for Brady and the Pats against the biggest patsy opponent they could come up with. There are several "original AFL teams" with more competitive squads they could have sent in there to get killed, why the perpetually rebuilding Bills? Sucks to be the preferred opponent for the good teams' "homecoming weekend".
  18. the Pats are a great well run organization in a great place to live that players want to go to. Players join the bills when no one else will have them (TO, Stroud, Florence).. good to great players go where they want to go.. (eg. Pia T. taking less $$ to go to the Bears, Crowell taking $1m just to get the h_ll out) and f-ing b-lo isn't on anyone's list... the Bills operate with one leg and one arm tied behind their backs.. assuming you still live in WNY just be grateful you have a team in a city that that is about as far from being a prototypical NFL city as is possible. The bills as presently constituted have no shot. I just hope they will be fun to watch while losing 10 games this year. Give me no huddle , give me Vick. At least entertain me while we wait patiently for Ralph's demise.....
  19. We'll be a 3-4 team next year, once DJ is canned and a new D coordinator comes in (and no one is moving TO the cover 2 defense..) which means Denny may actually stay, as he may be stout enough to play an end in a 3-4. Everyone else is a misfit for a 3 man line, including Stroud... Maybin will be gone as well unless he can play backer in a 3-4.. he's never done it... the whole thing goes to sh_t this year the minute DJ is fired. 3-4 year rebuilding cycle starts again.. sucks to be a bills fan..
  20. We can only wish that Jeff Fisher was our coach. period.
  21. I am a huge Bills fan but come on, what top 10 coach or top 10 free agent wants to come to WNY to a team whose ownership/entire organization is one 91 year old heartbeat away from completely changing? The Jaurons and ex-D or O coordinators or ex-college coaches of the world are all this franchise is going to get until the team gets fresh long term financially committed ownership and moves somewhere the rock stars of the NFL elite what to relocate to. Sorry, we are kind of stuck with what we have. We will get the castoffs (T.O., DJ, Stroud, Drayton Florence-types) until this franchise moves forward and decided it wants to compete in this league. So let the merry go round begin again, as I believe DJ is gone by week 10and the whole 're building thing" starts again for the ump teenth time...
  22. this is why you go get Vick as a backup. don't pay him much. we need something because TE will get hurt. It will happen. Vick will be happy with any job at this point. Release Hamden.
