  1. this guarantees we get a so so coach and a so so team. Ralph is so old school its not funny. kiss the ring and you are in. doesn't matter if you have any track record of success. let the mediocrity continue. I'll bet Nix came cheap as well. 70 years old? is Tom Landry available to coach as well? is he still alive? gosh it sucks to be a bills fan.
  2. I think a win would be be good in the coaching chase. So, on balance, they are going to get some good draft picks, so beating the Colts would be cool and show a potential coach that these guys don't run for the bus.
  3. Very good post. Between the Ralph, the city and the weather, no big name with other options (or probably at all) is coming to the Bills. Unless you have ties to the area, when you have choices, Buffalo, New York is likely near the bottom of anyone's list in any field.
  4. he'll get in the game, then ask for a new contract, and be gone within a year or two. this is the bills.
  5. I agree we will end up with Weis or Haslett or someone of that ilk, unless ralph's wife takes over the team, which would put the big name gms and coaches back in play...
  6. change of ownership would be the only good news that could come of it. without that, Ralph dies and thats the end of the bills in wny.
  7. Assuming Incognito is OK, move Wood back to his natural position, center. Move hangglider to a backup. then you have all but LT fixed. LT is a big problem and they need to draft that position NOW>
  8. buffalo and pittsburg has some things in common but not nearly as much as you think. buffalo is truly a backwater in every sense of the word now and will not be attractive unless no other opportunities are availlable at a similar price. buffalo has unfortunately made its bed over the past 35 years and now has to sleep in it
  9. very good post. you have it right. the CBA negotiations will tell all. if the NFL begins running at all like MLB, the Bills are dead. they are dying right now, what with having to export games in order to subsidize ticket prices at the Ralph, but an uncapped league will cement the Bills as the Kansas City Royals of the NFL.
  10. He should just drop the key on the field, next to all the footballs he dropped there. what a lousy, lazy player.
  11. not sure you'd even have to give that for vick
  12. a faded memory? try ancient roman history. the bills of the SB years have been forgotten by all but a few die hards in South buffalo who, in general, still think it's 1994. The Bills are being run like a local rugby club, all fun and friends and long time buddies fooling around with "the club" and having a good time with it. what team has the owners daughter as a primary scout? come on... the bills are joke. the sooner they are sold the sooner people with brains take over.
  13. very good post. the others on this thread and simply rationalizing away yet another stupid move by the Bills, "hoping" for a better tomorrow. Bills should have at least forced peters to play out the last year of his contract (no way he walks away from the cash and no way he lays down with free agency ahead) and then franchised him, and then let him leave, all the while bringing in draft choices behind him. Bad decisions make for bad teams. the bills are bad. (
  14. sounds like you'll be renewing your season tickets next year no matter what the bills do (along with 50,000 others). I wish I was ralph wilson. smartest business guy in the world. his fans rationalize everything away and keep coming out..
  15. ralph has no clue and makes a bigger mistake not hiring someone who does.
  16. you're nuts. these guys hadn't been to the playoffs in 9 years, DJ was still the coach and they still sold every game out.
  17. those guys are not moving to f ing buffalo. what the h are you thinking? "acceptable"? what a joke. bills fans would show up for the tailgate if fred flintstone were the coach.
  18. no one should go this year. the team was blown up by injuries, stunk the season up and traded away their only pro bowl calibre player last year, remember? right now, the bills are by far the worst team in the 32 team NFL. sad.
  19. Agreed. The Bills are a wasteland. Buffalo is a place you leave, not a place you go to.
  20. all he needs to do is pick up vick at the airport in March...
  21. his debt to society is paid. and then some. he's broke and alone.. for what? doing something that he grew up with, was tolerated all around and taken for granted? I'd take him over anyone we have now. thats for sure. these are football players, not rhodes scholars. lets go win some games.
  22. gosh i hope he retires. he would be useless in the 3-4 we are playing next year under a new D coordinator anyway. lets save the cash and get one of the top free agent nose tackles in here.
  23. great post. we needed to hit bottom so ralph would clean house. and now its happening. we really need to go after Shanahan. He is no longer a redskins candidate as they hired a GM. Shanahan will want it all. GM and coach. and we should give it to him. he can bring a ready to go staff and perhaps he will ultimately bring his son (O coordinator for Houston i believe) to succeed him. Ralph, just do it. this is the time. the other bottom teams either are toxic or already have done the new coach hire . Chicago is the one threat . Shanahan would go there. but detroit, st louis, tampa have already picked their "hot young coordinator" head coach and will not be firing them after this season...
  24. Maybin will be fine. Now he knows what it takes in the NFL. He will be bigger and stronger next year, will have a coaching staff that is decent and will be better. we will go 3-4 next year and Maybin will be converted to a LB. Simple.
