What you want to see Sunday vs the Falcons
8-8 Forever? replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
compete hard for 60 minutes with no mental mistakes or unforced turnovers. lose and do that I am OK, like the Carolina game -
he does not turn the ball over.... at all. that, plus top 5 defense and +2 on turnovers, you will win most of the time against anyone if you're kicking game is excellent, which ours is. we shall see. injuries always the wild card, but they seem to have good schemes and depth in the front 7 and O Line. Man, pretty sure they are in real trouble away from the Ralph this week, but beyond that who knows... looks like the Bills are going to whiff on the "generational" QB draft... again. but TT looks more like a QB than the running QB he was; he actually looks slower and more calculated this year; not taking any hits at all (good) but you have to admire what they have done so far. D looks stout all the way around. kicking game is strong. ST better than have been in years. Once henderson back, O Line will actually get better. gotta like it. they will come to earth hard on the tough road this week in all likelihood (and you guys will piss all over everything right on cue), but boy they seem to compete to win

I'm not sure why, but next week's game has the feel of...
8-8 Forever? replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yep. they will compete it seems. 2-1 and no big early season IR injuries (knock on wood). hmm.... kind of a "who knows" season. McBeanes may have put together one of those very rare "new coach rebuild/retool-and-the-team-is-better-the-first-year" deals. That would be special... scrappy little nobodys -

Companies are starting to take sides with protests
8-8 Forever? replied to Saxum's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The NFL is doing a fine job of killing itself all by itself. Doesn't need any help. Over the top commercialization, out of sight compensation, 22 minutes of action in a 3 hour event, alcohol-soaked stadiums: now its a national protest platform; its all pretty much going in the wrong direction slowly. -

McD Admits Hard To Watch Sammy Dominate
8-8 Forever? replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A tough one, the Sammy thing didn't work out and he wasn't staying anyway. fans will go nuts, but Sammy simply was going to exit a rebuilding franchise at year end. you have to accept that. until this becomes a playoff type team, top guys will be playing out their rookie contract and then leaving, McBeane did the right thing by getting something for him now. This is just part of what happens when you blow it all up. Pegs blew it all up, probably for good reason. Sammy had not performed for 3 years. Time to move on -
way better

pretty much sums it up... injuries piling up. the usual drill peterman in after the bye, IMO
-
I see a similar result but with more scoring. Denver offense better than Carolina's, Bills looking to be better on offense at home. 23-17 Broncos. No way Bills win this one IMO. 17 points even seems like a lot to expect. we will see. won't be watching ; will probably be still in car driving up to see mom in Rochester

I find myself wanting them to lose so they get a shot at what could be a generational QB talent in the draft. But on game day I want a win, but I kow a half dozen wins screws them long term based on most of QB draft history. WTF am I supposed to do with this for 16 games? This sucks. Go bills.

Bills sign Blanton and Coleman
8-8 Forever? replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
of course this is a transition year. not sure why everyone is going nuts over the loss. get ready for quite a few more. no shot this weekend against Denver, for example. could be a shutout, actually. but they will compete. -
The Dennison Run Attack
8-8 Forever? replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is what happens when you blow up the entire organization, new coaches bring different approaches. is what it is -
we knew this is what they would be this year. there is a new regime in town top to bottom, and complete (and refreshing) change in approach and attitude toward the game / roster and they are rebuilding to fit the new requirements. its like an expansion team but with a decent NFL-competitive roster to start. we knew Sammy wasn't going to get paid after this year when they passed on his 5th year option. we knew they weren't paying Woods once his contract was up and that Goodwin was a brittle track guy, not an NFL player we knew TT wasn't their guy when they kept redoing his contract to keep the numbers down; even moreso not the guy now, with Dennison's offense forcing TT to be a pocket QB, we knew therefore, that top FAs, especially WR types like Jeremy Maclin who want the ball, et al weren't coming to a rebuilding, run-oriented , bad QB, traditionally sh-t franchise if other options existed. So the free agent period was, as expected, pretty thin for our Bills we knew after the trades for high draft choices (which in retrospect were smart as h-ll, , BTW), they were thinking longer term, not win or bust in 2017 So, we knew well before the season started this would be another season of great competitive spirit and very few wins. It's not a tank, it just year 1 of the latest rebuild. But these guys look like the first decent management team we've had in a while. and 2018 draft is loaded with QB talent. frankly, the Bills are a lot better than I expected through 2 games. they may again screw up their 2018 draft position after all.....

Matthews: Blame Tyrod if you must.
8-8 Forever? replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yep. year 1 of the rebuild of the offense we are in. they are playing hard, but this is not where FAs want to be right now. Maclin the best example. Hopefully they get Darnold. Kid is pretty fearless. -
precisely. all others , hear hear, you bunch of babies

TT played fine with his run game stuffed by a great Carolina D in their home opener. Just f ing let it go you knee jerking wackos (OP excluded of course). geez. Zay catches the freakin ball , rolls into the end zone and TT a f ing hero and they're SB-bound. Fickle bas-ards you all are. -
Bills vs. Panthers Postgame
8-8 Forever? replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
7 or 8 in the box , shut the run game down, which eliminates the play action pass, and Dennison's offense is in trouble. The better teams (read: anyone but the Jets) will do this and it will be tough to win any of these games. it's not a tank, it just Dennison's offense relies on successful stretch run game; lose that, you lose most of the rest. they are working hard, but against a stout front 7, they won't score much. my sense is we can look forward to a lot of games just like this one this year
