He would be better than anyone else we could possibly have over the next three years, which, unless Ralph is simply immortal, will be the last three years the bills are in WNY. Lets win a few and have some fun. who wants three rebuilding years of 5-11 and then watch the team leave?

My Farewell to the Buffalo Bills
8-8 Forever? replied to StupidNation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
bullcrap. the bills work because the stadium is free and ralph gets $100m+ in TV revenue every year whether there are 70,000 in the stands or 70. bills fans stick with them because there is nothing else to do in WNY in mid, f ing november in wny, the tkts are cheap and ralph allows a drunken orgy in the parking lots every week. its not about the team, its about a cheap party on a day of the week at a time of year when there is nothing else to do .. no big time college football (or any other college sport) tradition in WNY, no baseball, no NBA, hockey is much more expensive and doesn't kick in until January anyway.. At least Jacksonville Jaguars fans have an alternative to the Jags, they are college football fanatics and spend their money on the Gators, fishing and NASCAR. None of that in the b lo wasteland in November. Ralph Wilson is brilliant. He has a completely captive audience who largely have nowhere else to go with their (minimal) disposable income during the fall/winter. I don't mean this in a disparaging way, its just that the fans are as much "stuck with" the bills as "sticking with" the bills. -
My Farewell to the Buffalo Bills

good post. lets stick to facts and track record. Also, When gailey is in charge, team's offenses improve significantly. he did it in Dallas, Miami and Pittsburg. When he left, the offenses went back down to lower levels of points . The guy can coach and game plan and call offense, regardless of the talent he has (and the best talent is never coming to friggin' b lo) . face it, Buffalo shouldn't even have an NFL team by today's standards and these knuckleheads want friggin Cowher to come in.. give me a break. buffalo is the backwater of backwaters in the NFL so be glad you have a team while ralph is still alive... -
Peter King Chimes in on Gailey Hire ...
8-8 Forever? replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best post of the day . Very nice. some 'friggin" facts for a change. we will be fine with Gailey. If he can win in Dallas and have J Jones as an apologist and Cowher as a supporter, he's good enough for me. go bills. -
Cancel your season tickets. Send letters.
8-8 Forever? replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
when ralph dies the team will be sold and probably moved. the ticket prices are the lowest in the league, the ticket/parking revenue at the Ralph is nearly the lowest in the league, the "luxury suites are crappy and many are empty and the stadium/facilities are ancient by NFL standards. Unless the buyer doesn't care about any of this, the buyer will move the team. Anyone paying $750million for the franchise will care about all of these facts. The $100m of annual TV income is the same no matter what city the team is in. Barring an owner willingly making a stupid financial decsion, the team is moving once Ralph is gone. -
look at the picture of Grimm. all tanned, rested and ready. he ain't coming to the snowy, depressing pit of WNY. I'm sure his friend mularky told him to stay away as well... remember, these guys have to bring their families and actually LIVE in buffalo... not the most attractive prospect to someone not from the area..

NO ONE WANTS THE JOB. The whole thing gets blown up when Ralph dies. The franchise will probably move to f ing Canada where no u.s. citizen wants to actually live near full time... this thing is toxic. Frazier MIGHT take a look at it....

Bills #1 Pick: Derrick Morgan?

good post. this could truly be the 'take the best player on the board, regardless of need' year. -
Question For All of You
8-8 Forever? replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, it is not. LT or QB has to be it. Being able to get Lefevour for QB in round 2 would be great. LT #1. That problem is not getting fixed in any way other than the draft. -
how big of a joke is this team when...
8-8 Forever? replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Lets get on with it. Buffalo looks like f ing miami compared to Quebec. Although Montreal beats the heck out of Buffalo, hands down. Haslett would do it, as well. Doesn't really matter, as the whole thing gets blown up again when Ralph passes on. that's why no one wants it. Also, an interview candidate, who's never been there, first impression coming out of the airport in January to 10 degree temps is undoubtedly "No"... -
yep, no one wants this crappy job/team/owner/city. as soon as ralph dies, the team is sold/moves and the whole thing starts over again (new gm, coach, etc etc etc
-
Agreed. Doesn't make it fair or right, but it is what it is. The Bills can get the Jim McNallys of the world, but thats about it if other jobs in other cities are available at around the same price. Plus the franchise is about to be sold. who will move to a place like buff (unless they are from there) with a franchise sale/move about to happen, unless you are 1) drafted and have no choice in the matter or 2) Dick Jauron types, who have no other options. It is what it is.

oh, please. stop living in the past Bills fans. this is 2010, not 1990. it would be wonderful if a local group with kelly buys the team, funds it well, gets great coaches and players to come happily play and live at the north pole and thereby keeps a winning team in crumbling RWS (highly unlikely IMO), but coach?. get out of the time machine people. this is today.
-
screw Kelly. his day is done. he needs to go away. I want to win. soon. the team is leaving town anyway when ralph dies, so Kelly is irrelevant.
-
oh stop it. these guys are rock stars. they don't hang around an f ing lake in the f ing state parks in the off season... geez.
-
Shanahan is an NFL rock star. very prideful. 20,000 sft home in denver. b lo is a national joke punchline. it would be embarrasing to go there. too bad, his son would have been a great succesor. Skins will be good with him and his son there...
-
probaby the worst job in the league, Raiders aside. it just is. think about . crappy talent pool, no qb, no LT, one LB, franchse sale on the horizon.. who the heck would want that job? and now cowher can't have gm and coach. he's not coming to wny. forget it. move on.

Stadium group in L.A. targeting Jags, Bills
8-8 Forever? replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Ralph dies in the next 2-3 years, it is hard to imagine someone paying $700m for the team and keeping it in a market with the lowest ticket price in the league. If he hangs on for 5 years, the Jags will probably be the team as their situation will be very desperate within that time. It all depends on when Ralph dies. Terrible way to look at it, but timing is everything on this.. -
If that is all he does here, that's enough.
-
Pretty much a complete rebuild. The Bills will not be not very competitive with the top 15 teams in the league next year. 2-14 or 3-13 not out of the question. They play the AFC and NFC North next year, plus the AFC East teams will only be better next year. So 10 losses are easy to count right off the bat. No QB, no LT, new coaching staff and schemes. Should be ugly next year.

Tebow looks like a NFL QB tonight
8-8 Forever? replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
depending on ralphs health, that may not matter. -
Marty Schottenheimer Isn't Coming
8-8 Forever? replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesn't anyone understand that coaches will all those great qualities (or simply people with those qualities, in general) are not the type of people that have to accept taking a job in a third rate place like Buffalo, New York. They have the talent, drive and attractiveness wherein that can wait and go wherever they want. And this franchise/ownership situation/location is likely not anywhere near the top of the list for coaches/people with these terrific qualities. If you are not from WNY, the first thing you think of when the place buffalo is mentioned is "oh" and "no". Not saying it is right, it is simply the way it is. -
Called for Nix as GM in October
8-8 Forever? replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marty has said a hundred times he is not coming back. He doesn need the money, so its not a negotiating ploy. Forget him. We need someone with energy and smarts and guts and a mortgage. -
Nix Move is Growing on Me (Slowly)
8-8 Forever? replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the reality is they both report to Wilson. the Nix thing is fine. they weren't going to get a Scott Pioli- type anyway with Ralph still around. Now we'll get a relatively unknown or 2nd tier coach and just more forward (I guess), because no top NFL coach is coming to the Bills with Ralph still around and ownership/franchise location still up in the air. it is what it is. -
How does Nix change our draft strategy?
8-8 Forever? replied to dtgolder's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
pls do not draft a QB no 1. none of the QBs are that good.
