  1. #3 and #4 are the biggies. maybe they can pull a 2008 Miami: no injuries, offense comes together. that would be great. longshot for sure, but would be the most fun we've seen since Flutie
  2. Very true,.. they tried to get McNabb, and he simply did not want the bills situation (I can't blame him.. rebuilding team/years away/new ownership and coaching probably soon.. etc etc) .. they made a real effort.. no top tier FAs or coaches likely coming to Buff until long term ownership is in place...
  3. Even is his mother is/was a pros_______ (extremely sad), "so what?" --> in relation to football? I dislike it when the sins of the father (or mother) are visited upon the son. Bryant is Bryant...
  4. Yep, next year will be "quarterback year" for the Bills, unless Brohm is a hit (which could happen... hey he was the "Sam Bradford" can't miss guy of 2008). I don't see TE or Fitz being the long term answer. Brohm is the only one with the NFL tools. TE is one concussion away from being KO'd from the league, IMO.
  5. My guess is we wait until RBs start to go down with injuries in training camp. Then we trade him for a 3rd or a 4th rounder. Trading him now will net us very little. This will not happen until late July/early August at the very earliest, unless someone goes down in mini camps (unlikely). Worst case we keep him into the season and again, wait until some team loses their #1 back to injury,... then we pull the trigger. It's all about negotiating leverage.
  6. fall down LOL. excellent post...
  7. lets sacrifice te and fitz while the line matures and then end up with brohm, who is the only nfl calibre talent on the roster
  8. You are having trouble dealing with the facts, it appears. Bills viewing this year should be limited mainly to home games against similar, division 2, "minor league" nfl teams. Otherwise, many a sunday will be wasted and frustrating. I think the original poster was correct. Sad, but correct. The Bills are bad, the staff and schemes are brand new, and the players are either adjusting to new positions and schemes or are rookies. the schedule is brutal. do the math, this season will be a nightmare, just like last year. sucks, but it is very difficult to argue any other way... go ahead, be a fan, that's great, the Bills still exist because of fans like that. 2011 will be the year things probably start turning around. The draft told me these guys are looking at a 3-5 year plan to get the franchise competitive again. Same as they did in San Diego. So don't look for anything great in 2010.
  9. So who exactly is playing left tackle for the bills this year? hint: the answer is not D Bell.
  10. Well, you sound like me. but I am not going there. My sense is they go O and D line today in rounds 2 and 3, then pick up a QB late or next year. This thing will not get fixed in one year and clearly their decision to pass on both Bulaga AND Clausen was completely vindicated by the fact they both were viewed as out of the top 20 by every other team. I was miffed by the Spiller thing until I noticed that all kinds of linemen are still on the board. And that 32 teams all passed on Clausen. Nix made the same choice greater minds made (Holmgren, Carrol, et al) ... that also needed a QB. Maybe ole buddy knows what he is doing...
  11. I like your thinking a lot... Spiller, Brown and then trade up to get a NT. Issue, will Brown last until 41?? This Spiller pick could work out after all...
  12. I agree. He is a douche. So lets pass on o lineman AGAIN, draft Clausen so we can enjoy him getting his brains beat in behind D Bell. Now you're talking entertainment. I might actually buy tkts from Ralph to see that. Reduces the franchise to WWF status (which is pretty close to where it is right now) but what the heck. anything to sell tkts.. right Russ B.?
  13. Utility guys who see the ball 10-15 times a game don't make the pro bowl pal. and behind our o line, the Vikes, Jets and Steelers will absolutely kill him. and teams that win like 3 games send no one to the pro bowl. he may be great, but behind D Bell (who couldn't block me when he wasn't false starting) he will do nothing more than Lynch, dodge around looking for holes that simply are not there.... and NFL LBs and safeties are just as fast and athletic as he is, so nowhere to run nowhere to hide CJ. I think the Bills just ensured they will have the no 1 pick next year. Ted Ginn part deux. Too bad. Bills just trying to sell tickets to a desperate fan base again.
  14. and that was a priority at No. freakin' 9 draft position? 10 carries and 2 or 3 punts returns (lord knows we won't have more than 2 or 3 of those a game) ? are you insane? we have great returners out the f ing wazoo, two high quality running backs (one of which we can't get anyone to take) and all kinds of slot and flexout guys... the original post is spot on.. this is the 2nd coming of Ted f ing Ginn. Why couldn't we take a tackle, continue to build our team and get on with life? running backs are the easiest guys to get in the NFL.. they are everywhere.. quality O Lines are as rare as solar eclipses. All we can hope is that quality O lineman fall to them at no 2. Spiller behind Demetrius Bell will do no better than Fred Jackson. Or you or I. Gosh this franchise is stupid. And the Pats simply trade down twice and now have about a thousand draft picks. Unbelievable.
  15. +1. wasted pick. crap. he and our minor league O Line will do very little against NFL defenses which he will discovery very quickly are just as fast as he is. very disappointing. but you know, the fans will just keep showing up. I wish I was Ralph Wilson. At least the Jax fans have brains enough to stay away when the product sucks.
  16. Its a no brainer that the Bills will move once Ralph is gone, as the other owners are mainly concerned with the value of their franchises, just like you are with the value of your house. you don't want your neighbor selling below market value, do you? well NFL franchise owners want the Bills to go to the highest bidder, as that price reflects what their teams are worth as well. forget tradition, history, etc. not relevant. $$$ will carry the day... it is not probably possible for the high bid for the bills to come from a bidder locating the team in WNY, unless the state uses tax money to sweeten the deal ,etc. any other area will provide a higher income base supporting a higher bid... simple economics and math dictate the bills are moving once Ralph is gone, unless the new york welfare state comes to the rescue .... again
  17. when our young guys "hit their stride", their rookie contacts will be up and they will leave in free agency, as so many before them did. and the rebuilding cycle will begin again.
  18. hard to imagine not being 0-4 right out of the box. calling for Gailey's head by Halloween. I hate to be negative, believe me, but we just have a chance to be the worst team in the league this year. Lions on the upswing, Raiders too. and Rams looking to get better this year. Browns in full on ground start rebuilding mode just like the Bills so who knows there. going to be a long season .. again
  19. wow. looks like 0-4 right out of the box. stubhub tiks will be cheap by by mid Oct. make your plans ..
  20. +1. no NT, no 3-4. doesn't work without one.
  21. he was very very sick, lost a lot of weight and Flacco just came in and did the job. Brohm pretty much in the same boat.. someone else came in and looked great and that was that... Between and Smith and Brohm, you have two of the best QB prospects in the past couple years.. the guys just never got a shot.
  22. we have bigger needs than WR. If he drops to round 3 or beyond, fine. other than that, get the front lines fixed. we can draft WRs and QBs and RBs next year.
  23. Agreed. Lynch has done nothing that concerns me very much. These are not choir boys that play this game. Most NFL players are nasties to one degree or another. The Bills, with their crap o lines have put Lynch through way more than he has put them through. think about it.
  24. Bulaga. No Brainer. If gone, McClain. this is easy. If they take Spiller with Bulaga or McClain still on the board, we now have an even bigger bunch of idiots running the asylum than before.
  25. So, if Pitt will trade him to us for a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year, would you do it? I would, in a heartbeat.
