  1. The link you provided sums it up for me. The Bills are a "nice", "clubby" franchise that rewards "good locker room" guys. Guys like Poz, Kelsay, Evans, Hanglider, Stupar. Which is all fine and good and works with your club rugby teams and Division II college sports. But it is a sure fire way to lose a lot of games in today's NFL unless your "character guys" are also super talented, which in most cases is not true (Mannings, et al being notable exceptions) When the bills were going to super bowls they had choir boys and bad boys. All we have now is a bunch of clubby choir boys. So get used to losing just about every game. But we do it in "high character" way. Comforting, huh?
  2. agreed .. stupid thread.. no one with a brain is coming anywhere near this franchise until Ralph is gone and long term committed ownership takes over... could be years...perpetual pre-season for what is now without a doubt the worst franchise in the league..
  3. The talent point extends to the coaching and management as well. Gailey and Nix, and Jauron and Brandon before them are minor league. We all know that. No top management/coaching talent is coming to the Bills unless they are hired by a long term owner, and that won't happen until Ralph passes. So get used to it.
  4. um, you are a very devoted fan.. this is bad, this season
  5. The Bills must move BECAUSE they are integral to this city's identity. That identity, to most people not either from the area or close to it, is alternatively, "irrelevant" and "loser". This is a bigger reason than anyone involved will admit why the best coaches, management and players want no part of it, everything else being equal. Think about it, this franchise is screwed being tied to WNY, a place with an image somewhere between desperate and dead. why do you think the only minor league free agents (Stroud, TO, Florence, D Edwards, Davis), minor league coaches (Jauron, Gailey, McNally, et al) and minor league management types (Brandon, Nix, et al)we can get are those whose only way to get back to or stay in the NFL, their Last Resort, is to go to the bills? ` Or they are from the area (McNally, Brandon, Pitts, et al). That's it. The Bills are permanently screwed by being located in a place the rock stars of the NFL don't what to be. Sucks, but its true. IMHO, and I'm from there, tThe franchise must move in order to become relevant in the league again.
  6. After today's pasting by the Jets, your "only thing" will likely be reality. So, my friend, who exactly is paying $700m + for a business based on the WNY non-economy. The other owners will not approve a below market sales price and a market sales price cannot be supported by the WNY economy as ticket and luxury suite prices would skyrocket. Are you ready to pay a Jim Kelly ownership group $5000 for a Personal Seat license? Well, you will be if you want a ticket. I hope the bills move, because only when they move, will top notch talent and management come to the franchise. Its as much the place as the team that drives players away in FA and keeps the Cowhers/Shanahans/McNabbs of the world from coming. For example, McNabb took LESS $$ to come to the Redskins.
  7. Correct. The only smart post here. the DBs are totally out on an island. You'll get no aggressive play out of the secondary this year. too risky when the QB has all day to throw.. defense is a team sport, if one piece is broken, everyone suffers
  8. Exactly right. Peters is a d//k but a better player than we will have at that position in the next 3 years. Kelsay is like Evans, a good locker room guy and a good teammate and a decent player. That's what the bills and their management like. The Bills are run like some local rugby club. Good guys, good team guys. Lose 3 out of 4 games, so what. The club is a "good club". Don't win anything, but a "good bunch of guys". Losers. These are big leagues guys. Grow up, bills. These are not choir boys.
  9. we knew this was a "transition (read: sucky/doormat of the entire league)" year in April, my friend, after everything we wanted in round 1 was gone. Where have you been, and where did you get the rose colored glasses you've wearing until now?
  10. shoulda waited til game day, by the then 20+ yd line seats will be $50 max. you jumped the gun dude. I'm showing up at 12:30pm to get mine. After they get blasted by the Jets, people will be giving Jags tkts away.
  11. agreed. the bills front seven are minor league. that will change over time, but for now, QBs have all the time in the world. blitzing with our "terrifying" LBs will just make more holes to pass into. face it, the bills do not have the talent in the front seven to do what the Jets and Steelers do. Sorry, but its true. It will change, but for now it is what it is. a very average front seven. the bills can't get teams in 3rd and 8 like the jets and pitt do. Pitt only brings the zone blitz in 3rd and long situations. Poor bills fans. Desperate for some excitement, but no one in the house to deliver it. I just TIVO the games now and go play golf. Waste of time staring at this crap team.
  12. Ah, another buffalo guy living in the past... pretty soon he'll be bringing up the fact that buffalo hosted the world's fair in f ing 1900. and that frank lloyd wright built one house in buffalo. geez, give me a break, the bills and b lo, rightly or wrongly have made themselves by their own actions to a large degree the laughingstock of the league and the country.. so stuff the historical pride crap bills and buffalo and show me some results.
  13. Might as well. Its all preseason from now on.. let the auditions begin
  14. Hard to imagine anyone paying $700 million for the Bills and then trying to make his or her investment pay off operating the team in WNY. The ticket prices would have to double, merchandise sales would have to skyrocket and someone would have to pay up big time for the suites. The stadium is lousy and the team facilities are second rate. Its like paying $30,000 for an old Ford Pinto and being happy about driving it. It's not happening. I can't tell you where the team will end up, but WNY isn't it, unless some charitable organization (the State perhaps) subsidizes the price. The other owners won't approve a sale unless it is at the highest price offered, and that price won't be the one offered by the guy wanting to keep the team where it has been failing for 10+ years.
  15. Build on it yes, but please continue losing so we can draft a darn QB. no 5 - 11 record pls . we need some talent..
  16. Agreed. Trent may be done, frankly. Just fades away.
  17. If you consider pulling for this franchise at this time to be "fun", you have a sick definition of what is "fun". I TIVO the game, go do something that I know will actually BE fun and enjoyable, then delete the TIVO in the (likely) event the Bills get laughed off the field. If they win, I watch the replay Sunday late afternoon. This technique is in chapter one of my "Bills Sucky Season Survival Guide". You should read it.
  18. I agree with the bills on this. As this team continues to lose, I could envision some very negative stuff showing up on signs hung over the wall. Given the design of the stands, the fans in row 1, on the wall are not the big money types you see at other venues, they are pretty much the "crown royal boys" knucklehead crowd looking for attention, especially outside the 20 yard lines. So the Bills are just heading an ugly situation off at the pass.
  19. They will get blasted by the Pats. Thinking shutout this week. Prob. something like 31 - 0. I predicted 35 - 3 last week and was just a hair off. Just TIVO it. Go do something fun. This season is over. BTW, the injury train probably kicks up big time this week, putting us on the road to 0 - 16
  20. I am a longtime bills fan, and homerun throwback was a brilliant call, well executed and the throwback was "good enough to be good" . I've looked at the replays as a biased fan, and the throwback looks extremely close, but at least parallel to the line... good enough to be good. I give it to them as they executed a very complex play extremely well in a do or die situation against a coverage that knew something was coming and still pulled it off. anyone still pissing in their beer over this play needs to shut it down and admit the Bills got smoked fair and square on that one.
  21. Looks like he called the Bills record spot on .
  22. Um, I think its fair to say the team by and large gets it that they pretty much suck and will lose just about if not all of their games this year. You don't have to stretch very far to come to that realization as a player. They are getting absolutely killed in all aspects of the game. You watch, every player will bolt town for the bye week, just to get away from the 0-fer stench that will certainly be permeating OBD by then.
  23. Yep, the Bills are going 0 - 16 as stand up guys, that's for sure. We will hold our heads high as the rest of the league and country laughs their butts off at us. Great. Pal, after this season, everyone will be giving up rooting for this team.
  24. oh, please. the Bills will get stomped by the Pats. and then get stomped by the Jets. Sucks, but an O - 4 start has been a stone cold lock for months.
  25. I agree. we are looking at 2-4 years b4 the Bills are any good again. Of course, by that time RW will be gone as will the franchise... sucks to be a bills fan, doesn't it?
