  1. I was disappointed when Kevin Gilbride was swept out with the clowns years ago. That was a cool offense. Chan has made me forget about Kevin Gilbride. And you know what? We really haven't seen a whole lot of the pistol offense, just bits and pieces, when Parrish was healthy. Anyone who saw him run this offense at GT knows what I'm talking about. I bet only about 1/2 of the playbook is being used this year.
  2. The thing for me is that long ago we all knew, discussed and agreed that, given the schedule, the new coaches and schemes, blah blah blah, this was a 4 maybe 5 win team. What is new and surprising is we are now GOOD with that, seeing what we are seeing now. That is so positive. Have a great weekend watching the New Bills.
  3. Yep. Throws it 50 yards right on the button (again) into double coverage and makes it look easy. My grandmother could have caught that ball. Fitz has made a believer out of me. Give me very good to great QB play on a consistent basis and I'm happy, I don't care what his name is or where he comes from. The last 5 games will tell the story. The O is relatively healthy overall, so lets see how Fitz does the rest of the way.
  4. The battery of Fitzgibbons and Hanglider could go down in history.
  5. We knew the schedule had only 4 or 5 wins in it when it came out in the Spring. None of this is news. We knew the Bills were a bottom 10 team. Next year we get the Jets, Pats Phins twice plus the NFC East (Dallas, Giants, Vick, McNabb) and the AFC West (Chargers, Raiders, KC), so the bottom line is the Bills need to get a lot better fast or you can look forward to writing this same post (that, hey, we are the 20th best team in the league -- yippee!) one year from now.
  6. the rules totally favor the pass in the NFL. Take a look at who won the last couple super bowls. you'll never win consistently in the NFL without a big time passing game, because you will lose to the teams who have that..
  7. Boy, after seeing Fitz throw the ball in the wind yesterday, if he's not the guy to be QB , i don't know who is.. very impressive.. that guy is a gamer and he can has the throwing skills to go with it
  8. boy that ball was perfectly thrown, too. anyone who thinks Fitz is not the guy is dreaming a weird dream...
  9. It'll be great just to have the season end.
  10. Fitz = Matt Hasselbeck, and that is good enough for me. Give Fitz a little time and he will do just fine as a starter in this league. If you think he is too small, then Drew Brees doesn't belong in the league either. Arm too weak? No way.
  11. great post. in the 3-4, you need your best players at LB.
  12. Bills had their chance to get Vick 18 months ago and blew it (right after drafting Maybin). That ship has sailed. Reid is terrific, so even if the Bills get him, they probably screw it up anyway. Stupid Bills (again). Transformation? Vick has been nothing short of amazing from the day he put an NFL uniform on. Where have you been? A one of kind talent, he is.
  13. Nothing on Fitz, but I want to see him bang his hand on someones helmet so we can see Brohm. Why not, what if Brohm is terrific? I want to know. this season is lost. play all of 'em
  14. they sign Vick long term, put the franchise tag (or whatever it will be called under the new CBA) on Kolb and then trade him .. that's one way I believe..
  15. #1. If there is a rookie salary cap he is likely to stay in school. #2. If its the Bills at 1 -3 in draft, he is likely to stay in school (if you've ever been to the Stanford campus, you'd stay there as long as you could as well). If it's 1 + 2 above, I guarantee he stays in school. Why go play for a crappy team in a crappy place for cheap when you can go win a national title , get a degree from Stanford and live in Palo Alto for a couple more years. No brainer. There will be no Luck in the B Lo for at least another couple years.
  16. Pretty much. And bills fans still fill the stadium, pay the parking fees, drink the beer, buy the shirts. I wish I was Ralph Wilson. His bills are the only game in town, and he owns it. And he knows it. the stadium is paid for, the fans buy the tickets no matter what, because Buff is by and large a mid to lower class drinking town and the NFL tailgate experience is a perfect fit for that demographic. and he knows it. Screw the game, more than half the fans are there for the no holds barred all day all night party. like a big rock concert . screw the bands, we're just here for the party. I wish I was Ralph Wilson. He is in the best position should there be a players strike or lockout next year. Bring in replacement players, 40-50k knuckleheads in WNY will STILL come to the Ralph, just for the excuse to drink all day.
  17. yes indeed. $1.4B is a lot of coin unless you can grow... not sure that franchise can grow much beyond where they are today...
  18. watching him get beat on just about every play is truly painful. He cannot rush the passer, cannot move in space. Just seems a like a Canadian league player in an NFL game. Painful to watch. Really unable to do anything. Like a basketball player who is sort of in the right place most times, runs the play the way its drawn up, but scores no points, has no rebounds. Just sort of takes up his space on the playing field or court. Weird to watch. Just no impact on the game at all. And teams do attack him. They no he will not make the play.
  19. assuming Ralph sticks to his guns and (a) the team is actually auctioned off to the highest bidder and (b) the state or some other government entity doesn't subsidize a local bid (ie, its a straight up bid vs bid), he is blowing smoke. No smart business guy who is runs his affairs by the numbers spends $700m and tries to make it pay off in WNY.
  20. Yep. In terms of the weather, comparing San Diego to WNY is like comparing day to night. Just got back to Northern Va. from visiting relatives in Rochester. Departed Roch. 41deg and rain/drizzle shoot-yourself dreary, arrived BWI airport, 57 and sunny. That is a big difference. Completely different vibe in a one hour plane flight.
  21. Still staring straight down the barrel of 0 - 16 though. Bears are coming off a bye week and will be fresh. The canadians will sit on their hands again. Not looking good for a win this week. Julius Peppers will send Cordero Howard into the afterlife in this game. and the Bears and Lions terrific Defensive Lines will absolutely shred our crap O Line the next two weeks, leaving us 0 - 9. then the real boo birds will come out. The media will start the "0 - fer watch", etc. the final game of the season will be on national TV so everyone can see the Bills match the Bucs and Lions 0 - 16 feat. No one in the NFL cares how you win or lose, they just want to know if you won or lost. Up or down, black or white.
  22. Still staring straight down the barrel of 0 - 16 though. Bears are coming off a bye week and will be fresh. The canadians will sit on their hands again. Not looking good for a win this week. Julius Peppers will send Cordero Howard into the afterlife in this game.
  23. Lets keep watching and see what Fitz and the Bills do. KC d line is finally very good. Who knows how long it will take. Still staring straight down the barrel of 0 - 16 though. Bears are coming off a bye week and will be fresh. The canadians will sit on their hands again. Not looking good for a win this week. Julius Peppers will send Cordero Howard into the afterlife in this game.
  24. When Peters was traded and Butler retired, that set us back on the oline about 3 years. No surprises here. Butlers retirement had no answer. Just pain. Won't happen this year. All the good ones have teams, and they ain't givin' 'em up to us. They'll get better as they get more game reps (and we lose more games). Just the way it is for now. an extended OTA/Preseason. that is all it is.. sucks to be a bills fan.
