trade down , get more solid athletes that will not play much in 2011 (like this year), build a base of solid but learning players. go 3 -13 / lose out in 2011 and draft Luck next year. then we on our way to greatness in 12 adn 13
-
Troup, like Carrington, did fine. Played a ton, now know how to prepare for next season. They, like D Bell and the other newbie o line guys will get stronger and bigger in the offseason.. and will come back ready for better play next season.

+1. Another ex-Bill moves on to the big leagues and does well. Our farm team Bills continue to coach up and produce talent for the upper division of the NFL.

Luck will not declare for the draft. Breaking news...

I honestly don't believe the Bills will be much better next year. Maybe 6 wins... NFC East and AFC West... not a lot of wins there. Lose out to Pats and Jets.. you get to 10 losses pretty quickly. We'll be hoping they lose out by week 8 IMO -
Bills top list of landing spots for Vince Young

and I'm sure you are one of those just happy buffalo has an NFL franchise too. without talent, you go 8-8 every year best case. not saying I want VY by any means, but we need a few athletes on this team who can dominate.. I don't care what their wonderlic scores are. This isn't high school football, this is the NFL; go big or go home. -
Ryan Fitzpatrick screwed the Bills over
8-8 Forever? replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on point value of draft picks, giving Carolina our 1 and 2 this year, plus our 1 next year gets us their 1 this year. I say do it. Get the kid. Or lose to the Pats and Jets 4 times a year for 5 MORE years... we need a top 10 QB to compete in our division and conference. Fitz is good, but is not that. -
If Cam Newton is there at 3
8-8 Forever? replied to UCLA Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix is a BPA guy. When his turn to draft comes, he just takes the guy from the top of the list. Actually not a bad approach. Drafting for need instead of Best Player Available is what got us Losman and McCargo, among others. -

I think I'll take the next Brady or Manning, thank you. His name is Andrew Luck. Newton = Vince Young. Lots of flash and attitude, no rings. Carolina is in major rebuild mode. If we give them our 1 and 2 this year and our 1 next year, they may bite. Depends on what they see in Clausen. If they see something, we may have a deal. Hell, give them Evans as well. Think man, We need to compete with the Pats and the Jets. We need a top 10 QB in the league. Fitz will never be that. Newton = Vince Young and has only played one year of real football and played on a great team. No thanks. -
Ok....let me ask this.....if Luck declares
8-8 Forever? replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, thats the deal. They get our 1 and 2 this year and our 1 next year. And that may not get it done. But it probably will, assuming Carolina is interested in giving up Luck in the first place. -
New uniforms next season?
8-8 Forever? replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Less Red, more White. Especially get rid of the stupid red helmet. -
The season went exactly as was predicted by most in July. Super tough schedule, new coaches, completely foreign and new schemes, total rebuild mode after letting Peters, et al go, 4 or 5 wins max. No surprises at all, really, other than we may have found a QB and definately found an offense, WRs and have the makings of a decent O Line that with a bit more new blood has some depth.

Glad I missed most of the game. Waste of time.

Chan and Brohm Pressers

Chan would have started Levi Brown if he could have gotten away with it. -
Why Drafting A Franchise QB At #3 Is Important

Let it go. Kudos to Chan for keeping the worst team in the history of the franchise fighting for almost four months. Bring on the draft.

Do you want Kyle Orton?
8-8 Forever? replied to BigRedMarauder6's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perfect post. This is the answer. Kyle Orton was tremendous this year. I have no idea why the Broncs are thinking of going with TT next year. -
All the more reason we need to have brilliant QB play. Fitz needs to be the next Flacco or Ryan because we sure ain't getting "Luck"-Y in this draft. Fitz is it, up or down, for the next 2-3 years. PTR is right. The NFC West is a joke. The AFC East is a beast. Ever wonder why the 49ers were so "great" in the Montana era? they got 6 automatic wins each yr in the their own division. If we are at #3, it would take our 1 and 2 this year and next years 1. At least, given the point system. You know what... I would do it. This and next years 1 plus this years 2? I do it, assuming a rookie salary cap.

Bills on list of teams on the rise
8-8 Forever? replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
can't go much lower... a few years ago we could have been the global expansion franchise for NFL Europe. glad that's off the table... whew! -
+1 . this is the bottom line. I believe all NFL owners want to make a profit obviously, but it is just harder with the Bills, as they generate relatively small revenue from ticket sales, stadium suites, advertising and merchandise. Buffalo is more suited to minor league franchises as a rule. Have low costs of operation is important with the Bills. Personally, I believe Ralph should loosen up the pocketbook and have one last go of it before he dies, but that is just me. Wait until Kyle William's rookie contract is up or watch Shawne Merriman sign somewhere else. Just watch. It will keep happening....The bills are a team of draft choices and 2nd tier free agents. Ralph is going to love 2011. he plays in dallas and New york i believe and gets HALF the gate for those games. Ralph is in a great spot. You can see why the other owners don't really like him. They give half the gate from their $100/ticket stadiums and Ralph gives them back half of that when they play the RWS poorhouse.
-
Then forget him. Mobile QBs in the cold and snow don't add much. Not that I am a fan of how the Steelers play, but that is the model for the Bills. Boring, run the ball and play defense. Boring, but in November and December, thats how you win.
-
Yep. The Bills are about the least known, certainly the least popular team in the entire league, or frankly, in major league sports for that matter. Well, maybe the Kansas City Royals are worse... maybe. Bills will be shut out of prime time next year as they were this year. and for good reason. Bills games are hard to watch.

Ohio couple suing Bengals due to drunk fans
8-8 Forever? replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I don't go anymore, which is too bad. The seats are crammed together and its way too out of control now. a half a dozen blinded losers near your seats and the game is ruined. What happens in the stands outside the 20 yd lines at a Bills game would not happen/would be stopped anywhere else. Almost like a gang mentality. it is a "If-you're-not-as-hammered-and-out-of-control-as-I-am-then-YOU-are-the-problem" mentality. Why is that? -
one of you "WE GOTTA LOSE THIS WEEK!" people
8-8 Forever? replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sorry pal, we need to lose this week. treat it like a preseason game. get carrington, pears, chandler, troup, et al lots of reps. gather film on these guys. Whether we win or lose this game will be quickly forgotten. this season ended two months ago. the earlier we draft the better, especially in the later rounds. take it out of modraks hands. you draft #3 you get someone really good no matter how bad your FO is. -
top tier FAs don't want to be with this franchise.. hasn't anyone figured this out yet???? Bills could have worked hard to get Vick and Gonzalez, both of whom were reasonably priced, and passed. The Bills are what they are. A farm team for the rest of the league.
