  1. and yet you keep on watching and can't get enough...
  2. I believe based on his comments Chan does not run or believe future offenses should be traditional NFL-ish offense. In fact, if he had the players (like Kaepernick) his offense would be even less NFL - ish and more like the Pistol offense he prefers and Kaep ran for 4 years. Give me Kaep in the 2nd or 3rd round over Newton in the first any day. Newton is a newby, a hyped up neophyte who has played a dozen competitive games since high school. Ridiculous the hype the guy gets.
  3. If it is Newton, get ready for lots of action but not much in the way of wins and losses. So party up , watch the fun but assume a couple more ugly won-loss records. this guy has played exactly 10 competitive college games. And he is the savior? please.
  4. Not sure I care anymore. Go ahead, take him. Create big buzz. Sell lots of season tickets. Maybe the Canadians get off their hands for the Toronto game. Who knows. Gailey wants a mobile guy who has no fear. If he wants to go Pistol offense big time, Kaepernick is the guy as he has lived it for 4 years with the guy who invented it at U Nevada. Really fun to watch and the Bills barely use it. It will get guys killed at the NFL level, but very fun to watch.
  5. yep , they are a 5 -6 win team "you can feel good about" . Sad.
  6. Yep, and they'll draft Cam Newton just to sell tickets, guarantee him $25M + , sell out the 2011 season before June, then watch he and his agent hold out, miss the 2011 training camp/wasting this season completely, then be a bust within 3 years. But they will sell out the new-uniform season for 2011. I could see this happening very easily.
  7. Prima Donna. Self centered. Coddled his entire life. NO.
  8. I agree with their process. They took a long look at TE and Brohm, evaluated the tape and then decided what to do about them. All good. This team needs new bodies all across the board. I think they will get this right. But it will take 2-3 years for them to compete with the top 10 teams. It's just that simple. No silver bullets.
  9. Newton is some weird Young/Russell/Campbell mishmosh. Plus he wants to be a media star, an "icon", in his words. That is not going to play in WNY. Just won't. The media wishes the Bills would just go away. Trade the 3 to the Redskins (who are just dumb enough to take him based on his 9 games of experience- I know, I live in DC), take their 9 this year and their 2 and 3 next year. Package our 1 next year (which will be top 10 for sure) , plus the Skin's 2 and 3 next year (which will be high picks as well), trade up and get Andrew Luck for crying out loud. I love these Bills fans (and I've been one for 40 years) looking for an immediate savior, one that shines a spotlight on their otherwise minor league franchise. Newton is such a risky pick at 3 based on 9 or 10 SEC games in a spread offense. You people are so desperate. Luck is the real deal.. a can't-miss NFL style QB. Worth waiting for, IMO.
  10. Newton will be a bust. He is this years Jimmy Clausen. Tallest among the midgets. Pass.
  11. Exactly the scenario I want to see (the trade down). We take Redskins no 2 and 3 next year, and trade them and our no1 next year (which will be a top 10 pick, without a doubt) plus whatever ever else it takes to draft Luck. This is what we should be doing. Newton is not the answer for the Bills and drafting him will be a mistake. He is some weird combo of Russell, Campbell and Vince Young. No SEC QB on my team. They leave their best ball in college.
  12. How anyone with business sense would pay $1B for an NFL franchise and try to generate an acceptable return on that investment in WNY is beyond me. Ticket prices would have to double. Suites would have to miraculously fill up at premium rents. Apparel sales would have to skyrocket. The lease on the stadium would need to be very reasonable. The numbers cannot possibly work that the highest bidder would be one placing the franchise in WNY. Miracles do happen, though.
  13. Exactly, that is why I want to swap no1's this year with someone picking at 14 or 15 for 2nd/3rd round picks next year. then you trade those next year with our no 1 to move up and get Luck. We are going to suck this year no matter what we do. So get more front 7 guys this year (this draft is deep with front 7 talent -- don't need to pick no 3 to address this.)
  14. Von Miller. He works, either in the 3-4 or the 4-3.
  15. Poor Bills fans always looking for the silver bullet that will make the team relevant again. Doesn't work that way. Trade down and get 6 good players in rounds 1-4
  16. I would trade down and have a later no 1 and two no 2 picks and two (actually 3) no. 4 picks. we need lots of quality bodies. No one at 3 is going to revolutionize this team.
  17. poor bills.. so far from the NFL conversation they need binoculars to see the Lombardi trophy. Greenberg is rooting for the right team. The Jets unfortunately will pound the Bills two more times this year.
  18. Yeah the NFL is a big time operation now and needs to ditch the free loaders. The Bills are one of the free loaders. Ralph has invested very little in the Bills. These other guys have invested hundreds of millions. I can see why the big time owners want to get rid of the the Bills.
  19. Too early to tell with Shanahan. One year does not a resume make. But taking a free lancer like McNabb (who I happen to think is great) when you are a control freak like Shanny is strange, though.
  20. I think history has shown MLB made by far the right choice.
  21. Bills were overmatched vs. Cowboys in both games. We weren't winning either of those games, shovel pass or no shovel pass. We just barely hung in there until the dam broke in both games. Our baby 3-4 defense was no match for the O Lines of the NFC East back then.
  22. Bills probably a 4 or 5 win team again next year. Simply do not have the bodies to be any better than that. They are so far away from the big stage and so far from the NFL conversation I bet a chunk of NFL fans don't even realize there still is a franchise there.
  23. How would you feel when all the above happens and ticket prices double (which they absolutely will)?
