Bills have to prove it. If they come home with a loss from KC, all the media will be saying I told you so and the beat will go on. Has nothing to do with Clayton. The media is done predicting turnaround for the Bills, they have been burned too many times as great things were predicted only to be followed by the team tanking. It is Show Me time for the media and I do not blame them.

Agreed, and will continue to be outside the NFL conversation. The Bills as a franchise simply do not exist right now. They deserve the lack of recognition they receive. Win and everyone pays attention. Lose and continue be ignored, because you continue to suck. This is a league for winners, and Bills are not one.

Is This Team Improved or Not From Last Year?
8-8 Forever? replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and miss out on the best can't miss QB prospect in 15 years. sucks to be a Bills fan -
Other than these three guys, who are game changers (for better or worse), I believe the Bills have not improved relative to the rest of the league (who get better as well, mind you). If they are healthy all year and play well, this could be a 6-7-8 win team. Play poorly or get hurt, you get a repeat of last year. We win either way, as 2-3 wins gets me the best QB prospect to come out since Peyton Manning. Thoughts?

he can go hang with James Hardy...hardy can clean his guns while Nelson reads the AMA journal looking for a cure....just didnt work out. This will be a very difficult team to watch this year. -

thanks!! when I had my seasons I rarely went to the last preseason game.. weeknight.. starters not playing.. etc etc they'll be OK. Andrew Luck will make them great. -
Interesting fact that sheds a lot of light on Bills

I don't think its a money thing. The Bills go after free agents every year, but I truly believe that top free agents, coaches and other talent are understandably leery of the Bills until long term ownership is in place. Ralph dies, new owner, complete housecleaning, rebuild.. etc etc ... if you are a top player in your 5 year looking at a new, big contract, and the money is equal (which is always is), you would pick the Bills to spend the prime of your career?? don't think so... sucks, but the reality is what it is.... -
fall down LOL

Great schedule for Andrew Luck to be facing in his rookie season. Now we just need to lose just enough games to get him.

Andre Gurode C Cowboys may be cut today

They probably are.. right now. Buddy is building a roster of young twenty somethings instead of cutting them for old over the hill guys. And with the salary floor in 2013, the guys they are growing now hopefully will be rewarded with good second contracts. The approach makes sense, just means not too many wins this year as the roster is grown and matures. If this year and next years drafts work out, we could be OK two seasons from now... -
No they have not. Any when they do, the media will cover it. Until then, the Bills do not exist. If you are not connected to the team somehow (fan, resident) who cares? Do you follow the kansas city royals? the sacramento kings? answer: no. so don't expect anyone to cover the Bills until and unless they actually do something, like beat someone they are not supposed to beat. there are 31 other teams out there, most of them a heck of a lot more interesting to the average fan than the no name bills.

Ok can you people cheer up now?
8-8 Forever? replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, they looked better and starters are staying healthy for the first time in years, there are two positives. Easley looks like a player as well. theres three positives. I don't care about Evans, they're just players. Players come and go. Until they win some games in the regular season against teams they are not supposed to be competitive against, this team is still just a work in progress... -
he was a redshirt as a true freshman?? Whoever gets him is instantly legitimate again. I would be shocked if he ends up in Buffalo. He will absolutely pull an Eli Manning. If you are the hottest QB prospect in 15 years, you are willingly going to come to the Buffalo Bills? Be serious.

Dareus will be a blast to watch, simply because their are only a small handful of super gifted big man O lineman in the league that can handle that quickness and push. He will be a show himself, much like the way Kris Jenkins simply dominated for the Jets for the two or three years he was healthy. Reggie White size and quicks. Also, a healthy Merriman playing at 90% will be something to see for those of us who saw him play in SD. Like Dareus, just an very unusual, very rare combo of size, quicks and find the ball savvy, much like Biscuit years ago. Whether the offense scores 15 or 45, it will be fun to watch simply because Gailey is a creative, agressive offensive coach and has a QB who has little fear of failure. So that will be fun as well. Could be some real blowouts going both ways this year, so get the popcorn out and do not be surprised by anything you see....

They don't. The Bills were their only ticket back into the big dance. They ain't walkin' away from that, as they will have nowhere to go that is anything comparable to what they are doing now. If Ralph wants them to wear plaid on Wednesdays, I bet they do it (for 5 minutes). Same goes for Stroud, Florence, Kelsay, and a bunch of others for whom the Bills are or were their only lifeline to the NFL. Seen the movie "Bull Durham"? The Bills ARE the Durham Bulls. The team talent level is about the same as last year. More experience, esp. with the schemes, etc., but about the same talent. Talent and Experience are not the same thing. Which means 5 or 6 wins and missing out on the best can't miss QB prospect in 15+ years. Sucks to be a Bills fan. Why, so he can give the Bills a handout? Lose his rear on the Bills just as he will with the Sabres? Bring in $150m per year and spend $200m? That is a lame dream from lame thinking. If the market cannot support an NFL team, then the team needs to move to where it can, not pray for a handout from some rich guy... WNY is such a charity case.. makes me ill.. Ralph likes Evans and as much as said it when Evans played ball and waited patiently for his new deal and got it... I speculate that Evans went to Ralph and asked to be traded to a contender before his career is over ... and Ralph obliged him... that makes sense to me.. The same loyal guy that kept the Bills in WNY because the fans were loyal to the team also met the request of a loyal employee who made a reasonable request.. the fact that all that was offered was a 4th is not Ralph or Evans fault.. Don't praise Ralph for his loyalty to WNY and then diss him for honoring the legitimate and, frankly, understandable request of probably his most loyal employee, Lee Evans

It all sets up well, though. Lose out this year with a crap lineup. Draft Luck. Draft well. Again. then in 2012 start ramping the salaries up with Free Agents, etc. in anticipation of the salary floor in 2013. I like the plan. They will suck this year for sure, but we knew that already regardless of what they did.
-
Correct. Bills fans need to realize that you have to transition your running backs. This loyalty thing is a joke. This is the NFL, not some book club. When Jackson's contract is up, he is not getting another one from the Bills. Spiller will take over. Jackson and Spiller will both play. If Spiller learns to block, he will get ahead as he is the more dynamic runner. Gotta work for the future. Winning now is not as important as getting both Jackson and Spiller on the field. Jackson is like Evans. Really good players whose best years were spent with really bad teams. Sucks, but I do not feel bad for any NFL player who gets 5+ years out of this league and keeps their health. Especially Fred Jackson, who should be very "loyal" to the bills. without the minor league developmental program farm team Bills franchise, Jackson never even plays in the NFL. don't feel sorry for Fred Jackson..

Supplemental draft via email at 1 p.m. today

Newton=Bust. -
Not sure in a Gailey offense, at the "skill" positions (and I use that term guardedly with our group) their will be any meaning to the term "starter". Which is good. He will need to pull out all the tricks in his bag to get production behind that O Line. Will be a revolving door at every skill position, other than QB, although you may see a lot more of Brad Smith/wildcat than you might think. Try 10-15 snaps per game.
-
He MAY do alright as a situational rusher, IF he is surrounded by top defensive players (which he is in NY). He may actually get some "coverage" sacks with the Jets defense, which you know the NY media will shove down Bills fans throats. Talk about insult added to injury.....

Will Buddy be the GM for the rest of Ralph's life?
8-8 Forever? replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one will take this job at this point because when Ralph dies everyone gets fired by the new owner, who will bring their own people in after spending $800m for the team, that you can be sure of. I think Buddy and Chan are it until Ralph passes simply because no one in their right mind is coming (unless some college coach or NFL exile wants back in). Just the reality.
