  1. It's a win. T White made an Pro Bowl play with the chips down. That's was a big league play at a critical moment. TT looked exactly like Russell Wilson. take the win and move on.
  2. you blow it up, you blow it all up. thats the way it works in the NFL. you'll probably see it tomorrow....
  3. agreed. I don't see much offensive production unless the zone read threat comes back. Clay was a big factor who is now gone with no one to replace him. defenses will go 8 in box to stuff the run and therefore kill Dennison's run- then- play -action-pass scheme. given no pass game threat, It's pretty easy to play defense with NFL calibre defensive talent. I see this thing going downhill pretty fast from a win/loss perspective. course I said that about the first 5 games too.... we shall see. Dennison has a big challenge -- he's pretty old school so I doubt this cat can change his stripes. Plus McBeanes are assessing/building their roster and straightening out the salary cap / draft position this year for the most part.. if not they would keep last year's WRs for example. Trust the process. 8-8 record, maybe.. Taylor playing with one hand tied behind his back.
  4. red zone is tremendous, yes bc no delays, all action, basically live highlights
  5. character flaws eliminate him. remember , you wanted Rex gone. now, no more bad actors. comes with the territory.
  6. McBeanes know they need a QB. getting one is part of the "process". maybe TT is it, probably not. the next couple months will tell the story.
  7. makes changes is what the bye week if for, so lets see what Rico rolls out week 7. may be more of the same with healthier players , may be some adds from the ole playbook. this is where coaches make their money. thank goodness the bye came early this year. things could have gone in the crapper if the bye was week 12 or similar.
  8. in the NFL, the team record is all that matters. Bills are thin at WR, yes, just as other teams are thin in other areas due to injury. Welcome to life in the NFL.
  9. always listen to experienced players. forget what Jack Buck and these commercial hawking hackers say.. for example, listen to Tony Romo, he is calling guys out during the game in real time --- he sees instantly who excelled and who screwed up // its great
  10. choose your poison, do you want an ego driven guy like McD or Belichick where it's their way or the highway, or a milktoast like Jauron for whom winning in the NFL is "really hard" . sure I'd like to have Roman's offense back, but NFL HCs pick their staff, Roman quickly had a job and Rico was the best guy available it appears at the time. Roman got blown up bc Rex got blown up. I wanted Lynn as HC , Roman as OC and a 4-3 guy like Frazier or Schwartz as the new DC. But it didn't work out that way, Rex fired Roman before Pegs had a chance to fire Rex. It all goes back to Pegs, who should have hired a real football guy as a decision making GM who could have seen that Roman knew offense but Rex did not know defense anymore. But that didn't happen. Rex snowed Pegs , got the power, smartly hired Roman but foolishly installed his obsolete defense. Is what it is. Move on. Rico was likely not McD's first or second choice, but as a new HC his pickings were pretty slim at the time.
  11. pretty tough to find real contributors once the season begins... solid drafted and undrafted players have been sifted out, trades made and then systems installed and then the season begins .... that's about it. If your team gets killed with injuries, you are largely screwed. no time to pick up systems mid season as the coaches are 100% focused on game to game prep. For example, unless Dennison has a power run chapter in his playbook and they practiced it in camp , you ain't seein' one this season (hint: I do not believe he does). Beane never intended to have all the holes covered in this very first season where they made a 180 degree move away from Rex's type of players and what he was doing and restart with all new mentality and schemes. They're like an expansion team with average talent in general and above average talent on defense. McD/Frazier and Rico are putting in their own schemes so the guys there now are having struggles themselves adjusting (eg. O Line zone blocking), forget about what a new guy brought in now would go through before being productive.
  12. yep. my prediction was they would compete hard (no tank), but the rebuilding/assessment roster, post-the usual NFL injury wave, just not good enough to work into a new scheme AND win more than 5 or 6 games. no clay, no WRs, 8 in the box, don't see 'em scoring much. sucks, they will prob still win 7 games and screw themselves out of the draft...
  13. it might. but maybe Rico, at McBeane suggestion, is testing out TT as a pocket passer, progression passer, so see if he can do it. They said they were burning Sept/Oct to "find out what they had" .... this may be TT's test.... he even looks less agile this year unless I'm missing something... right? TT really looks slower this year, right??
  14. as you recall, i was hoping last season that Rex would be fired and replaced by Roman, who then would obviously keep his offense but put the 4-3 back in place on defense. But Rex fired him first. That's called not having a real GM or real owner at that time to do the right thing. Timing is everything. Oh well. Now the defense is fixed but the offense is screwed up. Whatever. Let's see what the coaching staff does over the bye to fix what is wrong. This is the one opportunity -- the bye week. Let's hope they put the time in to make the adjustments. No time for scheme changes during the week to week grind of the season. Now is the time. No vacation Dennison, get to work.
  15. Fans are getting a better product... effort is top notch, the management is now very good. they are 3-2 while simultaneously rebuilding the roster -- the injury bug will still kill this thin, rebuilding roster and the season eventually IMO, but we will see what happens when the Conference/Division games crank up . The moves they have made for the future make total sense so far. Watkins/Woods aren't doing much, they are teed up to get a franchise QB in next years draft, and the defensive scheme makes sense for the first time since Schwartz. Trust the process.
  16. 2017 = extended preseason. They are playing hard and fast, but McD is still figuring out what he has. This is what happens when you blow everything up. Training camp isn't much anymore. Not in pads much. I hope he takes his time to find out what he has. Glenn may be like Clay. Bad, unreliable body. We shall see. I want a long term fix for this franchise, not to win a few extra games this year.
  17. Correct. Pretty difficult to bring starters in in week 6, unless they are already familiar with the offense. eg. Boldin would make sense. Is what it is. Free agents, raiding other teams practice squads. This ain't fantasy football. Stick to the process. The team will work hard, but from a fans perspective, this season will be whatever it will be.
  18. What say you, now that the injury train is in full flight?
  19. McBeanes are building their roster this year and this coming offseason. This season is all very interesting, but they are competing with what they have from week to week and building the roster wherever and whenever they can. Pretty sure Pegs agrees that no one is off limits. If Glenn can't stay on the field and someone will pay up for him, I say move him.
  20. a third of the starters out or severely limited, you ain't winnin' on the road in the NFL. it's ok, anyone on this board takes 3-2 at the bye all day and all night, and you know it
  21. ya bunch a babies. this team is performing so much better than we thought they'd be
