Edwards will be released at year end and the LB coach (and Gailey's buddy) Dave Wannstedt will take his place. I can't believe DW came back to the NFL to be a LB coach. Not buying that.

And NYS income tax rate is around 10% , not 20%. However the point is made. 150m payroll times 1/2 times 10% is still $7.5m per year just in income tax. Add in the income tax and sales tax from everyone around the team and in the stands and you get to 100m easily over a few years...

6 games. Exactly as predicted. That's ok. Couldn't have expected much more. the guy is probably done.

When your No. 1 makes $20+m per season, your have nothing left for a backup. You take the risk Manning is indestructible . Which he has been for all but this year. Pretty good bet. I just hope they keep betting on him. That way, they don't draft a QB.

The crappy tampa 2 works if your offense is powerful and gets you a lead that forces the opposition to change their game plan and go to the pass and more open field type plays. Then the small, super fast tampa 2 athletes eat that up with INTs and easy tackles in front of them. It failed with the Bills as opponents just ran at it , plus Bills offense wasn't very good at getting leads. It is a good defense if you have a half dozen great athletes in it and your offense is terrific. Both of which the Colts had a few of the last 10 years. With Manning down, the whole thing kind of falls apart.

Injuries piling up for Washington

Exactly, the real season starts with conference/division games on NOV 6 against the Jets. Wanna make the playoffs, forget the Redskins, beat the Jets. -
Nov 6 at the Ralph. Game of the year so far. No question. Want to go to the playoffs? Win that game.

I guess. So much bitterness in these Bills fans. -

Agreed. I'd rather see KC Oakland or anything other than this garbage -
When Dareus gets this totally figured out, watch out. He is just holding up two guys right now. Once he starts tossing them aside, watch out.

WR Terrell Owens Cleared to Play Football
8-8 Forever? replied to Sniper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. This is not fantasy football guys. We are fine at WR, a little short right this second, but Gailey just schemes around it. This is the guy's genius, let him do his thing. We two weeks to prepare, the Redskins will not know what hit them. I am really looking forward to seeing the new wrinkles that I have to believe will come from a Chan Gailey bye week. -

Wow, Oliver Luck is his father? That is interesting... great research crayonz. Wow. Oliver Luck was terrible. Oh the post Earl Campbell, pre-Warren Moon days for the Oilers.. ugly -
Wow, watch out for Cinci in the next couple years. Great young defense. QB can play. Best WR in the league. watch out.

Gailey did not hire his good friend Wannstedt to be LB coach forever. I think we can be sure of that. -
all that stuff is into the middle of the field.. inside the 30 yard line there is no room for slants, TE throws etc. The only room is up the sidelines and in the end zone. That is what the Giants gave them and that is what Chan called. Really brilliant call. Fitz throws it 5 yards farther and we have him going to Hawaii. Give it up. Everything was perfect except the execution.
-
In the NFL, you take what they are giving you. They were taking away the run and giving us that route. Chan had the balls to call it. Good for him and good for us not to have Jauron calling 3 runs smack into 8 in the box. Good for you Chan. Do it every time you have it .

Chan's friend Wannstadt will be running the defense next year. Count on it.

Strength of Schedule and our record

Good post. PLUS, the division and conference season is just now starting, as the NFL postponed most of the division and especially almost all of the division games (you know, the ones that get you into or out of the playoffs) until the second half of the season (fearing that the lockout would wreck the 1st half of the season). The REAL season, the one that sets the playoff roster starts with the JETS game on November 6. A whole string of division and conference games roll out then. To be 4-2 and on a bye week prior to the real season starting looks pretty good to me. This team can play. That drive to tie the game at 24 convinced me beyond any doubt. Billieve people. This is not a super bowl team, but it can play -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
8-8 Forever? replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am so thrilled to have a competitive team again I overlook the warts. Chan and Buddy are way ahead of schedule at this point. This ain't no Super Bowl team, but they might just squeak out a wild card this year if they keep playing like this. That drive to tie the game at 24 was magic. -
True. NYC is unique. And much more liveable than it was 20 years ago. Buff has definately gone down hill from my youth, but if you know where to go, it is good fun as well...
-
Spiller will be fine. Good hands . Fast. A lot to like.
-
ok ok i have a spidey sense for getting screwed by sports announcers who live in NYC

Nance and Simms are so in the tank for the Giants. Joke. So proud. Cool to see a St. Joes kid do well. Phil Scaffidi is smiling in heaven.

The Los Angeles Dilemma...
8-8 Forever? replied to KollegeStudnet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Read Donn Esmonde's article in the News today. That is the real story. He has it just about right. The Bills are very much at risk assuming Ralph is auctioning off the team upon his death (as he has said his estate has been directed to do). Very much at risk. The stadium lease is up and Ralph will not tie the team to a long term RWS lease if his will says sell the team to the highest bidder...of course the optimist says Ralph will sign a long term lease IN ORDER TO force a bidder to keep the team in Buffalo.. now THAT is a ray of hope. In other words, Ralph has said the team is sold to the highest bidder... what he did not say is that the winning bidder is stuck with a 10 year expensive lease on the Ralph as well!! If so, that might level the playing field amongst the bidders. A Kelly-led group, for example, would have an advantage over an buy-and-move bidder because the buy and move guy has to build a stadium in Toronto, L.A. or wherever AND still pay off a 10 year lease on the Ralph. Paying to two house to live in one. The Kelly group is fine with the long term Ralph lease because they are keeping the team in WNY. Caging old guy, that RW , he may have the solution ... the county updates the stadium for $100m, Ralph makes moving the team economically tough by signing a huge new long term lease to the stadium. That might do the trick... interesting.. -

an unknown brand called "Rich Products" that no one ever heard of. Bob Rich is a B Lo guy who bought the rights for a song 30 years ago. When the rights came up for renewal and got expensive, he did not renew. Hence, back to RWS. Can't see anyone paying up for naming rights to RWS or any other small market team. Economy sucks and the Bills are never on the national stage. Naming rights are a rare buy these days.
