  1. Exactly. He looked pretty darn good against us.
  2. Which also shuts down the running game, because 8 guys are in or near the box on every play now. We are pretty much screwed offensively until teams respect the deep seam pass to the TE or long ball to WR, neither of which we can do with today's personnel. My view is this offense needs short fields to be successful. No 80 yard TD drives for this offense. Defense and Steams need to step up and get Fitz some drive starts near midfield .. give them a chance to be successful. It all works together. Bills offense has been stuck with terrible starting field position for the past two weeks.
  3. Yep. This is year 2 of 4. They are better, no question. Parrish, Easley and Evans being gone has allowed defenses to play the short pass exclusively. Fitz probably will need to take a few more shots down the field, but very very poor field position has prevented that from being called. They had terrible starting field position all game vs both the Jets and Cowboys. NFL coaches do not open up until they are past their own 40 yard line, they don't and it's the right thing to do. I suspect field position will improve against the Phins and we'll see how we do. If we win, all is forgiven and its on to the Jets in "biggest game of the year - part 2" .
  4. A lot can happen in the next month. Jets could collapse ( Sanchez is not the real deal), Pats cannot play defense. I just don't see this being cut and dried. Bills are having a bad stretch. Players growing up. I like them vs. Fins Sunday. Not sure why. Just believe they are human beings and competitive athletes who suddenly are underdogs again with no one calling from the media anymore. They had to go through this. It needed to happen. If they come out and lay an egg Sunday then I stand corrected, but I thing they come out and swack the suddenly overconfident phins. Human nature says Bills come out hungry. they know they have to have this game. Let's see what we get. Big doses of Jackson me thinks...
  5. Shame Easley went down, he catches half the balls Jones is too short to catch. I wonder if his career is over? No info at all out of that situation. He would have been a good one me thinks. Oh well. We win Sunday and all is forgiven. Great to be a fan.
  6. It's a spread offense. Only one RB at a time. Spiller is used as much as they can. Jackson just too good to sit. Too much production.
  7. Exactly, Chan's been around the block a few times. I do not believe he will lie down and let this happen. Watch out Miami. I think they will get a very focussed Bills team up against the wall Sunday. I do not see Matt Moore doing a Tony Romo impression . Levitre will handle Wake or Taylor. We will throw it against Miami and make some plays. I see a win Sunday, setting up make 0r break take - 2 against the Jets the following Sunday.
  8. Yesterday reminded me of 2008. Out like a flash, a few fake field goals and last minute miracle comebacks and everyone is thinking Pro Bowl for the QB and a walk to the playoffs. Then the good teams show up, a few injuries hit and the magic goes away. Lose 4 out of 6, your a game under .500 and its over before December. Looks that way this year. 7-9 maybe just good enough for 8-8. See you at the draft.
  9. Boy, Cowboys looked tough today. Big, fast, off and running. Amazing how when talented teams play big, you have no shot. Talent wins every time when motivated. Both Jets and Cowboys had motivation and mowed the Bills down. On the bright side, win in Miami and you are 6-4 with another shot at glory against the Jets. On the dark side, this is just how 2008 unraveled as well. Feel good start, then get blasted into oblivion...
  10. Well, looks like they are what we feared they were. Not ready for prime time.
  11. I would say an above average team with average players. Gailey takes average players and makes an above average team out of them. That is exactly what we are seeing. Bills will be fighting this until they beat a good team on the road. Haven't done that yet
  12. i am thinking 4- 4 the rest of the way. teams have figured out our passing game and will take away the middle of the field , just as defenses did to the K Gun 20 years ago. Unless Chan sticks to the ground and pound game, offense will struggle from here on out. Namaan Roosevelt and Donald Jones are probably not the answer throwing downfield. No more 30 point performances from here on out, IMHO. The Jets laid out the template. If Chan adjusts successfully to this and we start putting up 30 points again, he has to be coach of the year. On defense, they can be beat. Jets are terrible and they pounded it very successfully. I don't see the defense pitching anything close to a shutout going forward. 9 - 7 is looking like where this ends up. Hard to see it any other way. Still too many missing pieces at WR, pass rush and 1st down run defense. Much much better than last year, and next year should be even better... Go Bills. Agree. That score is about right. I just don't see it this week. The Jets laid out the template for beating the Bills. Empty backfield- take away the middle of the field. Run and play action passing. We shall see. If Chan finds a way to change up on offense and break out of the formula shut down by the Jets, he is absolutely the genius I happen to think he is.
  13. Run the ball and throw deep. That is what will happen.
  14. Because it is allowed to be "anything goes". I wonder what the NFL intends to do , if anything, about this. NFL games seem to be all 20-something knucklehead males now. No women to speak of.. no one under 20 or over 60. Like the one poster said, just an all-day frat party where you empty the liquor cabinet into the car and drive to the stadium... wild..
  15. Well, it's been going on forever, and its not just the Ralph. My wife (who knows exactly what to expect at NFL games) and I were at Fedex in $200 club seats and the 4 guys next to us had to be actually ejected for being so bombed they were at risk of going over the club level front row railing. Unbelievable. But NFL games are a license for an all day drunk beginning about 10 in the morning. 5000 DWIs could easily be given out after every NFL game. It is just the way it is. If you can't handle it, get the big screen and watch at home. Once DTV provides viewer controlled multiple camera angle viewing (via HD webcams) and mutable announcers (so you only hear the stadium noise/announcers, etc) , I'll never go to another game. This game was my first in the Ralph in 3 years and sure enough, a bunch of canadians behind us F'd this and S--t'd that for 3 hours. Whatever.
  16. Take away Fred's fumble on the twenty (right in front of me.. ouch) which made it 13-3 and that game goes to the wire. That turnover plus Jets downing a punt at the one changing field position at the start of the second half changed everything. The teams played hard and a couple plays which gave Jets short fields changed the game from 3-0 to 13-3 in the blink of an eye and that was pretty much it. It was a field position game and Ryan played it well and got a couple gifts. Jets were better from scrimmage, but not dramatically so. Other than their first drive and one other, the Jets had short fields on offense all day. Their kicker was outstanding. Nick Folk out kicked Lindell by a mile. Man that guy can rip the ball. That helped Jets as well. Plus I believe coming off a bye is a bigger advantage than people think. Need to do the research, but teams coming off byes seem to kicking the butts of whoever they play, the matchup doesn't matter.. anyone know that stat?? w-l % coming off a bye? I bet it is very high.
  17. This is about when it all fell apart in 2008 as well. Get to the big stage, get crushed, then the season falls apart. Hope that doesn't happen, but it looks like 2008 all over again right now...
  18. PM? personal message? didn't know that capability existed...
  19. Hammer, coming in with my college age son for first RWS visit in three years... can I park in the Hammer lot? would be cool to see some of the posters there...
  20. AGreed. If an O Lineman cannot extend his arms and deliver a blow without pain, he will get used all game long.
  21. Remember, the Bills have been so bad for so long the top announce teams haven't covered them in what, 8 or 9 years?? Aikman said this was the 1st time in 10 years in the booth he had a Bills game. Bills have a long way to go to get back in the NFL conversation, pls remember we live and breathe this team. The rest of the NFL basically forgot (until now) there was a franchise in WNY. Give it time. Bengals, Lions, Rams going through the same thing. Just keep winning and it will come. Will take until end of next season, some prime time games, etc. before the announce teams remember that it's Fitzpatrick, not Fitzgerald.
  22. Let's see how they do against division and conference teams and judge from there. The real season starts this coming Sunday. Gailey is the star of this show. He could get a bunch of D3 players winning in this league. Sign him. We will not be paying up for the WR position. 7th rounders and Free Agents are doing just fine as long as Gailey is calling the plays and Fitz is executing them. Sign the lineman. And Jackson. Gailey is the star of this show. The route structures he is running are why Chandler is so open. The deception in his passing game is amazing. He has marginal talent guys looking like all pros. Amazing. But he's done it before. Fitz is the key.
  23. Beating the other conference is nice, but you have to win your division games to get respect. Biggest game of the year by far Sunday. And I will be there . First game in 3 years. Go Bills. Where will all the TBDers be? Would be interesting to actually see someone called "promo the robot". Is Tom Jolls still alive?
